  • If U2's supporting act in Australia was Muse I would have totes gone just to see them again! Sydney can show this crowd how to move! The resistance went off over here xD

  • Guys, they're not jumping around because they're U2 fans and just want Muse to get off the stage so U2 can play. They're not jumping around because crowds in North America are generally quite flat. Not all of them, but generally most crowds in the States and Canada are not the best in the world.

  • Matt probably looked down onto the crowd and said, WTF is with these people? They are all middle aged and wont even move.

  • I agree this crowd is lame, but don't even bother comparing two completely different bands, with different sounds, themes and also which evoke different feelings. I have every album by each, and I can honestly say that I love them both equally, but for totally different reasons.

  • I think Muse had big shoes to fill playing for U2. I mean, most of U2's fans are 35+ and have never heard of U2 before. My dad was there with his mates for U2, and he said that Muse blew them away.

  • We must understand that these people are middle-aged U2 fans. They don't understand Muse like we do. They are there for U2, afterall...

  • oh my god what's up with the crowd?!

  • seriously the crowd was calm as if they were reading books

  • @PizzicatoArco I, for one, was up in the nosebleed section spazzing out. But hey, I went there for the sole purpose of seeing Muse.

  • i woud be there for MUSE. just for them.

    U2? whatever.....

seriously, whats wrong with those people? are they deaf?

  • r those audience or zombies ??

  • pfffffffffff, what do u2 fans know about music?

  • Yah the crowd sucks... I went to the Dallas concert and my friend and I were the only ones moshing. The atmosphere sucked nuts. I cant wait till the resistance tour.

  • lol yeah what's with the audience. Even my mom and dad get down to Muse!

  • It is such a wast that Muse is playing as a supporting act, the audience do not appreciate them as they ought to. They are just standing there...

"The lucky don't care at all!"

    :(

  • dejense de hablar pelotudeces

los argentinos no nos creemos mejores que el resto de latinoamerica, dense cuenta que somos todos la misma mierda

  • haha whats up with the mic in doms face at 3:54?? haha

  • he says "into the supermassive" through a voice modulator

  • To all of you keyboard warriors bashing the states...Did you ever consider most of these people were hearing MUSE for the first time?? Maybe they were taking it in or maybe they were shocked at how amazing and new to them MUSE is. Chill out with all the hate.

  • Americans don't know how to move period. Our culture is so "white bread, milk with dinner, pole shoved up my ass, 9 to 5, date night with my wife, that the system has sucked the life out of Americans. My parents are from Argentina do a youtube of "Muse Buenos Aires" and you will see my people dancing and singing as they pay homage to the best band in the world.

  • jesus dude, chill out. Why the hostility? I'm from the U.S. and have been following MUSE since '01. More than half of these people don't even know who MUSE is simply because they havent had much exposure in the states. Go talk your shit somewhere else loser

  • Man you argentinians think your at the top of the spanish speaking food chain Im Puerto Rican and just about every guy from your country are the same your ridiculous. Muse is good granted but why take away the accomplishments U2 have made your a whining little child and your country aint shit argentina blows, notice I used a small letter "a" for the name of your country, it does'nt even deserve capitalization small case letter for small minded douche bags

  • Uh, wow.

  • it embarrassed me that my home country just stands there while the gods of rock jam. im ashamed.

  • seriously...seeing concerts like the one at Wembley and than seeing this one is such a shame...

  • Wembley Hysteria wasn't good either.

    And this outro kicked ass!

  • I think what Alxe73191 said was about the crowd's reaction here comparing with at Wembley Stadium...? Not that he/she said Muse's performance was bad though :-)

  • but take into account that they are the support act which is silly cause muse are sooo much beter

  • It's because U2 and Muse are under the same record label.

  • It's America, everyone's a little paranoid =)

  • Do Muse really need to break the States? The U.S have had 4 albums to embrace Muse before the Resistance, if they can't appreciate the creative genius of Matt Bellamy and co well that means there's more for us guys in Europe to enjoy.

  • oh yeah! you're right!

I don't mind if Americans can appreciate Muse or not, because that means MORE Muse will be for Europe and us, ASIA!!!

    (sorry, I know I'm a bit selfish ;P)

  • Worst Crowd EVER!! They were lookin at the best live band in the world and they didnt even move?!!!!

  • dont worry bout that, muse just havent had much exposure there even tho they sell out stadiums outside of america by themselves. also the videos from this gig have as many if not more views than the U2 videos so obviously some ppl took notice. theyve been shocked into silence and disbelief by muses musical brilliance

  • I was at the show the next night and I have to completely agree that Muse's performance was completely wasted on 90% of those Jersey bums...stadium was half empty when they played.

  • Worst audience ever? :p

  • Ugh, these people don't know how to be at a Muse performance...such a shame, I'm so jealous and it looks like the show's wasted on them =/

  • you get an idea of just how big u2 is when muse open for them

  • Saw the concert last night in Raleigh, NC. Muse was f-ing amazing. Been waiting forever to have a an opportunity to see them and it was so worth the wait. Hope the exposure they have gained by opening for U2 will bring more of this rocking trio to the States. And yeah, U2 was pretty awesome too!

  • What was the setlist?

  • Uprising

    Unnatural Selection

    Undisclosed Desires

    Supermassive Black Hole

    Starlight

    Hysteria

    Time Is Running Out

Exo-Politics or Map of the Problematique -Can't rember if it was Exo played or if that is wishful thinking/memory on my part

Heavy on the new album and BH&R. No Pug in Baby, Hyper Music or Deadstar to my disappointment.

  • U2 hasn't had an originally good song since the early 90s. Sadly most people have never heard 90% of Muse's stuff. While we have U2 shoved down our throats every day here in the states. U2 has good songs, just no good recent songs. Can't wait until Muse headlines. U2 is the reason I didn't want to go to this show. Muse gets a short set and then U2 hogs the rest :(

  • "Muse gets a short set and then U2 hogs the rest :( "

Last I checked this is U2's tour so yeah, they should "hog the rest", just like Muse should "hog the rest" during their headline show while their support act gets a shorter set. Makes sense.

  • Well it is called ,"U2 360 tour!" dumbshit!!!

  • I can't wait to see them this Saturday, wooohoooo!

The crowd looks really lame/tame in their glorious presense, haha, I guess they're mostly U2 lovers.

  • Okay, they did these two songs in this concert? I would have thought they were focusing on their new stuff even though this is my favorite.....

  • hahahah they're stooonneed

  • can't wait for Muse's North American tour!

And yes, U2 should have opened for Muse. It's Muse's time to conquer now.

  • Ha yep

  • I would have hated being U2 coming on after MUSE.

It doesn't matter that the public knew not at what they were watching, as the fact is that U2 did.

I can only hope that they locked themselves in a vacuum for 55 minutes.

I don't hate U2 but comparing the 2 acts live is, well, futile.

  • And U2 headlined concerts since day one, did they?

U2 have had their day in the sun and quite frankly their duller than watching paint dry right now.

I wasn't the only one to fall asleep at one of their recent concerts.

Muse on the other hand would wake the dead.

Hence this tour had the bands arse end around.

    Sorry.

  • Yeah right keep deluding yourself mate,im dam sure muse wont be the biggest band in the world 30 year into their career and have the biggest world tour ever by any act, they might as well enjoy their support slot with U2 ,as they will never headline a stadium tour of the US with their boring mismash retro rubbish.

  • you haven't got a clue about good music keep listening to your u2 shit and leave the real music to muse.

  • FOAD there a pile of fucken crap you deluded wanker whingey retro crap its all been done before, maybe a dumb bastard like you appreciates this shite who has no idea of what real music is,their a fucken support band to the biggest band in the world and lets face it they wont last half as long as some other fashionable band will be the flavour of the month.

  • oh thats why they sold out wembley two nights in a row.U2 are dreadful and bono is a dick like you,you dumb fucking moron.

  • You are a fool if you think that Muse won't be selling out stadiums this size in America within 2 years.

  • Can someone tell me if Muse is touring Charlottesville VA? or are they just doing an opening for U2?

  • They are just opening for them on this tour. The Tour date for their US tour have not been released yet.

  • Oh okay, thanks for telling me! =3

  • They're probably not touring it as a headliner, but their US tour dates have not be released yet.

  • Okay, thanks :)

  • j'm 41 j saw 12 u2's gigs since 1983(also the last one in milan),and j saw only 1 muse gig ,2 years!obviously j'm a huge u2 fan and obviously u2 have "arrived" before Muse ,but let me say(j play guitar and piano as a selftaught) that muse are my fav band since 4 years ago and they are best live band j ever seen! These guys are simply awesome and their skills are "endlessly"! great great respect for U2(j will always go to their gig) but Muse now are the best band!

  • Americans don't have a f*****g clue. MUSE are top class alongside U2 , my two favourite bands, but to hear that most people hung around and drank outside at this show is ridiculous. Thick American idiots!

  • dont worry i gonna go to da concrt in tampa and they gonna play there...i lov MUSE

  • Comment removed

  • Muse is amazing!

  • Way better than some of my Muse videos from that night!

  • i was there and was awsome :)

  • I was surfing in some other sites while listening to this and all of a sudden Matt's playing caught my attention. I don't understand why I'm still surprised about his playing, as a Muse fan I should already know he always plays the songs in a different way. I enjoy his playing way more than some of those who are called guitar heroes.

  • lol i was right there

  • this is surely a step down for muse!

they should always be the headliner!

  • I'm a hardcore muse fan!! I'm seeing them in charlottesville.. i've seen them 3 times and i can't wait for the 4th. not really sure how u2 is live, but i know that MUSE>U2 no matter what! but hey i'm excited to see both of them!

does anyone know if the GA section is split into sections? is it easy to get to the front??

  • charlottesville VA? that would be great news for me. lol

  • Comment removed

  • You guys are hilarious. Muse fans saying U2 suck are idiots, so are U2 fans saying Muse suck. These are the two best bands on Earth. And the crowd is so unmoved not because they're U2 fans and don't know what a good band is, but because they're Americans. If Muse had opened for U2 in Europe, the crowd would have gone wild. Americans are such a lame audience.

  • Hey! I'm American and I was singing and jumping and everything while Muse were on!

  • Oh yes, I noticed that in your vid of Knights of Cydonia ;) I was speaking in general.

  • :P Sadly, it's true that America is more focused on what's 'cool' and 'hip', rather than what's actually good. I'd say about a good 80% of Muse's hardcore fans are European. Maybe even more. We need more hardcore American Muse fans like me!

  • They run circles around U2.

  • another? the biggest English group that there is. Americans have no idea sadly

  • Two of my favorite bands in one night, one of the best concerts ever.

  • dude the people down there are just standing there. no appreciation for good music I tell you.

  • Their not moving because the average U2 fan is a boring door knob that has no idea of what an actual good live band is.

  • its cause most of the crowd would be 45yr olds that have being listening to the same old music since the 80's

  • Easy tiger. Most of the hugest Musefans I know are in their 40's so age is not so much to do with it. But I get where you're coming from.

The lads look like they are having an awesome time...thats all that really matters when it comes down to it :D

4 weeks till Oslo, bring it on.

  • lol yer it was just a cheap shot i know but it does hold some truth to it.

  • Fuck U2

  • Aah! I'm sooo excited. I'm seeing them next week in Charlottesville, VA. They sound sooooo good. I can't wait.

  • That's a bunch of lethargic people watching the band that's about to overthrow U2 from their stadium-rock kingdom

  • I was at the show on Wednesday night, and Muse was absolutely amazing! I'm bummed that they were only opening, as I would have loved to see them play much longer. Matt Bellamy is an amazing guitarist and singer. I loved that they opened with a hard rock instrumental of "America"!

  • oh my god i love that tapping!!!

  • what the fuck is wrong with these people they need to be moving and going fuckin insane!!! its MUSE for crying out loud!!

  • i'll be jumping all during Muse's set in Raleigh next week!!! How long did Muse get to play?

  • Have fun! :D

They played for about 50 minutes

  • WHAT A SHIT CROWD OMGGGGG

  • shit crowd

    muse deserve better

  • U2 should open to muse and not muse to them. Is now time for muse

  • That must have been awesome to see them... I wait for them to come back to states mostly the southwest!!! If go to AZ great, but if they come to NM even better !!! I've would have done the same thing, see muse and leave. U2 has some good songs, but their live stuff is not too lively from what Ive read and watched. Muse on the other hand... F***ing rock!!!

  • "give me your heart and your soul..." I hope they come to Brazil with U2, but a show without U2 I could enjoy even more!

  • i hope they come to brazil with U2

  • ahahahah se me eriza la piel con esos riffs.....3:01 pero sigo diciendo que le pasa a la GENTE DE ALLA!!!!! la neta que flojera dan...¬¬

  • In Europe people jump during all the time Muse play ...

  • Yule63: this wasn't their show; they were opening for U2.

    #@!

  • so wot was deh play list for the entire moooooze performance?

  • por qué no se mueven?!? no saben lo que estan viendo...

  • worst crowd ever?

  • en mexico sería al revés, yo veria asi de hueva a u2 y a muse con todooo!!!

es mas, prefiero solo a muse!

    gente rara!

  • Me and my friends go to the concert late =/. we only heard the last two songs of muse I was SO pissed....how where they last night though

the last two songs were great!

  • a demonios pero que le pasa a la gente por que no salta o grita!!!! ahahahaha

  • I was there!!! :D But I was all the way behind the stage, with nosebleed seats... >.>

  • thats where my seats are for the oct 1 show in charlottesville va. how was it?

  • It was actually still really awesome. But I may not be the best person to ask as it was my first concert, hehe... and I left after Muse finished. Nevertheless, it was mindblowing, and worth every dollar I paid for it, even if the people I bought it from did overprice it... XD

  • I was pretty much right behind u

actually the crowd was going pretty crazy back where i was, drunk college kids love muse

  • I agree, that crowd is awful, this song is amaaziing!!!

  • That crowd sucks! If i was there i would be going CRAZY!

  • this crowd is flat out awful.

  • Are U2 mad? Muse blow them out of the park.

  • idiot. U2 140 million plus albums sold. Fill stadiums every night. Muse play UK festivals. 2-3 million albums sold?

  • Comment removed

  • look up your stats before making yourself look like a dick! :)

  • what are the stats Gingatossa? Muse have a long way to go before they come close to the fab U2. Dick.

  • quit being a faggot, jesus.

  • You another fucking idiot. its U2 360 tour. Muse are getting a chance over in the states. I hope they break it.

  • no shit captain obvious. keep sucking bono's dick why dont you

  • In America yes...It would be close...Muse is amazing and so is U2, but Mathew Bellamy is a far more talented musician then anyone in U2...sorry but that is the truth. Better vocals then, better guitar...and on top he is an amazing pianist and composer. soo yeah.

  • Such an awesome band live.

  • why are they all just standing still, i dont get it.

  • i was there. that was an awesome concert, even though muse only played nine songs. i only really went to see muse, but u2 was awesome to. i think this might have earned muse some more fans

  • i think thats why they r doing it.

  • oh definitley, and it worked :)

  • Lol, here in Europe, people would have assist the show only for Muse too... xD

  • Brilliant. Thanks for posting. Can't wait for UK tour :)

  • Jeez, you had to have been right next to me because thats almost the same view i had of the stage. I was maybe 2 rows back from the fence thing but i couldnt have been more than 5 feet or so from you.

Muse was pretty awesome live, U2 put on a great show but im not really a big fan at all. Never was into either much but they both blew me away.

  • I don`t understand why Morgan uses that Cabasa, there is no sound of it

  • There is a sound from the Cabasa actually. It sounds like the high-hat of the drums because Dom is really hitting an un-microphoned rim on his kit.

  • nop, he hits a Ribbon Crasher

  • Kenshin11212, please please please please upload Resistance.....Oh No, please upload ALL OF THE REST here on Youtube!!!

    I beg you T^T

  • It sucks they only got to play 9 songs! I can't wait til they play their own headlining US tour!!!!!!!!

  • I like both bands allot so here is what I think. U2 are way bigger than muse will ever be. They are a world wide phenomenon. Muse won't ever be as well known but I would say that they are better than u2 live from a technical musical sense. The two shows are completely different though. Muse's show can wow you where as u2's show is just downright fun to be at.

  • Agreed. Muse has what I would call a more discerning fanbase. U2 is more mainstream.

  • I've never seen Muse or U2 before, but I'm definitely more psyched for MUSE tonight at Giants Stadium!!! What time did they hit the stage?

  • Around 7:10

  • Jesus. The people in the front rows seem amazingly unimpressed. ... Assuming they're just overwhelmed with all the riffage and action going on on stage as they're used to U2 *cough*

Muse being the support band...baha. Still can't believe it. xD

  • You support bands when you're not still a big band; they're just there to entertain people, not to rock them. The big surprise happens later LOL

  • seeing this before u2 must have been so fucked up. you have an explosion of amazing sound from muse and then u just have u2 which is down a level. its like seeing the support band after the main band.

  • LMFAO! No way, you can't compare unless you're 6 years old or so.

  • Says the guy 'fanboying' about U2 on a muse video. Lulz.

  • Indeed, I still don't understand why Muse did this. x)

  • Makes total sense really - U2 are not my thing but are a huge worldwide band. Muse can fill 75k stadia in Europe and the MSG in the US but they aren't as known there - just another way of getting their music accross. They probably picked up a good few more to their fanbase in the process

  • fucking dummies in the show

  • how can they just stand there..i would be going nuts to see the greatest band on the planet..

  • I think they may have been in shock ;)

  • The greatest band on the planet came out to the stage just after Muse. Looks like you've just woken up LOL

  • What? The Rolling Stones followed Muse? Wow

  • no i've been around for 41 years. was around when u2 first came out. great band.last album never even knew it came out.i've seen clips of them live. sometimes cant even hear bono sing. very low. hey if you like them thats your opinion.

  • What? Muse followed Muse? Wow

  • rofflemayos

  • The extra riffage is awesome.

Going by all of the live stuff they've played since they've started gigging the new stuff - all of the old stuff has had tweaks and been revamped a bit.

    Score

  • WTF is Chris wearing? :D - Seems a bit to tight for his current portly state!

  • Comment removed

  • Because he is CAPTAIN CHRIS xD
