I was in 2nd bn 6th marines motor pool from 2001 - 2004 and knew Jared. I worked in the tool room, and every time he came down to do preventative maintenance on vehicles I was usually one of the first people to greet him. His smile never left his face. He never had anything bad to say. He was a good friend. I still can not believe he's gone. I assure everyone who reads this, he will never be forgotten. And for everyone who has negativity to spread, PLEASE do it elsewhere.

My comment was a reply to someone else's, not my politics. Sorry to have rattled your cage...I have 3 family members in this mess, so I am completely sympathetic to the family here.

(I don't know why, but sometimes replies end up looking like replies, other times, they look like they are independent statements.)

What I commented is less political than an observation as a human being, anyway. To date, there have been 4,114+ families that have faced this heartbreak.

I have to say, whether I agree with my gov't or not as a civilian, I feel a deep debt to those that fight (& have fought in the past) & I support them, pray for them, cry when I hear another is coming home to have final goodbyes said...War is awful, no two ways about it. Peace to you...and I am sorry that you personally know so many that have been directly affected by this. We have been fortunate...my BIL has been to Fallujah, Baghdad, and other cities disabling IED's...We feel blessed he is alive to do the job he has been doing for so long now. Sister is on an aircraft carrier and brother is a detailer with over 20 years active duty.

My dad was a police officer in a major city, too...I have always been defensive about that job, so I understand. Completely.
