  • Great laps! Sad too see that happen though.

  • Good racing!!!

  • LOL. Why did you even try to avoid the lil prick? I would have rolled over top the dumbass or turned into him and did a P.I.T. manuver on him. He was obviously trying to run too hot into the left hander and use your car as a safety wall (8 wheels hold track better than 4).

  • Have you tried the SRF in iRacing? How does it compare to the real car? I find the Spec ford in iRacing the least enjoyable to drive.

  • @Ghostca It's not even close on iRacing, and 120MPH in a sim is going to feel boring when you can compare it to another car that can do 60-80MPH more than that. In real life SRF's are an absolute blast to drive, and even more fun to race.

  • What a silly boneheaded move.

  • Looks like you were in third...unless that white car was lapped.

  • @vexedweasel they werent racing the 500

  • Leading in class.

  • The orange car is now sitting in my garage.

  • Treat her well and she'll do the same to you! :) That car has carried me to a few wins in the past (and what would have likely been another one here...)

  • She get's lots of love. She was mean in the beginning but so far all the orange is the way it was when it showed up. You'll have to come up to VIR for an enduro in it at some point.

  • when you buy one is it ready to run or do you need the drivetrain and engine? Looks like a lot of fun!

  • Are those things automatic transmission? They sound funny when they shift thats why I ask.

  • No, the audio isn't great on the GoPro camera used to make this recording. They are manual transmission.

  • @JonMiller34

It "sounds weird" because you're power-shifting - shifting without lifting off the gas. Either that or the timing of your cluch/gas maneuver is off. That's not good on an SRF clutch, fwiw.

  • @Phantom9192 I'm in the Orange car. I'm not power shifting and neither is the car that the camera is attached to.

  • @JonMiller34 My bad, was thinking you were in the camera car. He is either power shifting or not timing the lift correctly. The engine rpm is clearly going up during every upshift before the next gear is catching. Perhaps my terminology is off (is power shifting not using the clutch at all maybe?) but my point is that the driver of the camera car is still on the throttle when he depresses the clutch, hence the "weird sounding shifts". It's really NOT good on these off the shelf clutches.

  • thats mixed class racing for ya. it was just a mistake and thats the way the cookie crumbles sometimes. at least you werent near a wall or anything. i had a spec7 take me out in a race at p.i.r. i was driving a prod7, dont know if you guys have that out there. 1st gen mazda rx7's. well he put me into a wall head on at 90mph, broke both my legs, ripped an arm out of my socket, and received a concussion, not to mention totalled my car. it could always be worse

  • alright you win

  • oh man. glad you were okay. I got a side question: how did your seat mounts and seat hold up?

  • Did you get a video of the fight afterward?

  • Looks really dangerous to have kart like things on a track like daytona, especially with other cars at the same time.

  • what the hell is an F500? Looks like a kart from mars!

  • I have no idea, but they run in the same race group as the SRFs and this isn't the first time they have messed up the lead of a SRF race that I've been in. 25 SRFs entered and 3 F500 cars entered... go figure.

  • I thought jon punted you when I started watching and I was gonna make some sarcastic remark. But wow that was a sucker move!
