@BlytheWorld1972 I'm afraid there was no 70's version of the Munsters, only the original 1964-1965 show, so clearly you talk pish. And they were neber (I assume you mean "never") trying to recapture the old show they were trying to do something new, an they did. The old show had died a death in the horrible 1981 TV movie "Munsters Revenge" with the original cast who I'm sorry to say were past it at that point and didn't even give believable performances of the characters they apparently loved.

The Ultimate Irony here,is that no matter how well intended that TV remakes are-

they are in no way,successors to the originals! "THE MUNSTERS TODAY" is a

major example of this fact-despite its talented cast,as well as Patricia Fass Palmer,

who helped guide CBS's "ONE DAY AT A TIME" series torward its success! but the

main factor here,,is the man who became something of a Remake master-ARTHUR

ANNECHERICO! and with all due respect to his abillities,he was way out of his

By season 3 they dropped most of what made them the Munsters. It was a family sitcom without much of the monster-ness, except when they mentioned it in one liners. Then they tried all those segments with Eddie in HS like it was Saved By the Bell. They even had on the kid who played Screech as an annoying geek. Ugh.

It was enough before when the Addams' cleaned the Munsters' clocks in the ratings between the original two sitcoms, but even with the All-New Addams Family in 1998, at least the Addams' knew when to cancel that and had been well-off before that with two hit feature films, two well-received cartoons, and the 60's sitcom classic, whereas the Munsters was saddled with being second best as a sitcom to start with & then had this horrid sequel, followed by cruddy made-for-TV movies.

The first season of The Munster's Today was good but in in the second and third season it gotten so "normal" spot was gone the Raven in the clock was gone.Eddie wore regular clothes. All the special effects were gone. The show became more regular than spooky.
