That was May long weekend. fish had been moving deeper. we used 3 way rigs to get lures down deep. 40-80 ft deep. but when you are going you will not need to. If the ice is out in time, you can just cast. Look for bait fish. The lure was a #44 Sutton Spoon. Mooselook makes something similar. I think they call it a thinfish. We also caught with swedish pimples. I'm heading up April 30th. This time I'll be trying EGB spoons. good luck.
