I understand that, but wouldn't you think that having more room would make such development easier? An analogy would be that of height and skeletal muscle. Being physically big doesn't automatically make you stronger than the smaller guy; one has to take into account muscle density as well as muscle cell size, not to mention neuromuscular efficiency. However, someone who has a larger framework, all things being equal, will definitely have the greatest potential for strength.

Historically the major breakthroughs in science come from those who are independent and not tied to convention. With each piece of evidence we get from
DNA, the idea of magical processes and mystical causes are being eliminated. In the real world of genetics, you have to show facts. The facts are we understand genetics and interbreeding, we do not have any evidence of magical spits to genomes that cause new creatures. Only interbreeding is solid science.

Being physically big doesn't automatically make you stronger than the smaller guy; one has to take into account muscle density as well as muscle cell size, not to mention neuromuscular efficiency. However, someone who has a larger framework, all things being equal, will definitely have the greatest potential for strength.

The very paper that tells of it also tells about finding Neandertal DNA in H sapiens genetics.The problem in each of these cases is that genetics wasn't known until lately, not that we now have it. Dr. McClintock could hardly site "important function in junk DNA", as it was only discovered in the 90s.

That is why there is argument about whether they are H. neandertalensis, or H. sapiens neandertalensis. Um, a hypothesis is determined as continually being a 'work in process' in which the said hypothesis still undergoes rigorous testing & scrutiny, until demonstrably shown. Since your claimed hypothesis is still in this very early trial testing stage, you have all your work ahead of you as you need to have other peers test it also & show that it's the most consistent w/ the rest of the evidence.

Neanderthals were already in their "classic form" in europe 60 thousand years ago. At the same time the new boys from from the east came over and out competed them for food.
Also about 60 thousand years ago a fossil hominid from Mungo Australia also shared different dna yet clearly had no distinctive Neanderthal features.
No living peoples do.
Upshot?
More likely both Neanderthals AND Asian moderns once shared a common ancestor, a PRE- Neanderthal like homind at best.

@PantheraAtrox No more likely the Mungo Man represented an early human branch that left Africa and headed into Australia without having crossed with Neanderthals! They have found skulls in Israel that have both human features and big eyebrow riddges! And half of the Jews today are beefy peoplel with large noses like the Neanderthals! The Aborigines of Australia could have received their neanderthal blood about 15,000 years ago when they met up with Indonesians visiting Australia!
