Mya and Dmitry dance Freestyle - DWTS Season 9 Week 10

mya wouldn't have won no matter what she did. donny has got osmond nation behind him,never been at the bottom no matter how low he scored. during the semifinals he was 12 points behind mya and dmitry and still managed to get into the finals. mya's personality is just too dry ,always too composed to ever connect with people outside her fan base, which to begin with is nothing compared to donny's. but she was the best dancer that that season. credit to dmitry for all the other great dances he made

I am very torn because i love Mya & she's amazing, but this was not her best dance. Freestyle is the final dance of the season so u must showcase everything u learned, & u must do something that people will remember. This is a forgetable freestyle, a Vegas act like Mya originally suggested could have gone down in history of the show.

He should've listened to Mya...she's done better dancing than this in her videos!!! It may not have been technically "bad" but it was boring.

Sure Mya was the better dancer and the favorite to win throughout the season but whatever allows underdogs to win... that's what makes this show so interesting. However, in this case, Donny won fair and square. Every week is a new week once you survive the previous week. Old scores and votes don't count. The final week, Donny and Kym won with their freestyle. It was superior, better executed, perfect style for D&K. M&D chose the worst time to have less than perfect routine.

@theelmo999 All the other dances brought this girl to the finals. You still gotta win the finals to win the whole thing. We've seen it before where the pro loses it for the star. I wonder if they (M&D) remained friends.

This freestyle was the better than the others! Even without being fantastic it was still great. I think Mya was a bit hesitant in dancing because she was in pain--her foot was injured; maybe Dmitry choreographed a dance that would not further injure her.

Mya looked like someone who was doing a walkthrough of the dance right before going on stage. Her head tosses barely moved her hair.

@girolle01 Sorry you feel that way but his freestyle was better because it was much more entertaining with fun,energy and all over the floor. This freestyle with Mya was pretty good but it could've been better. It definitely wasn't the worst freestyle!

@girolle01 #1.Listen to the judges it is not JUST about a better dancer it is ABOUT A better PERFORMANCE. #2.The freestyle should have creativity look at past winners. Donny/kyms routine had more footwork, the execution had more reliance on the couple MOVING TOGETHER than myas' #3.DWTS is about taking a non professional dancer & having them dance w/professionals and grow from it. Mya did not. Donny grew and delivered. Reality looks at the whole picture. No hard feelings. Donny Deserved to Win

@4bsfun Listen, madam. It's Donny fans like you that got him to win. Mya and Dmitry had the better result each week, performance-wise and technically. Donny wouldn't have stood a chance with the difficulty of Dmitry's routines. And in terms of the judges, the only relevant one up there is Len (Carrie Ann and Bruno are just pop-music video dancers). You'd be a fool to think the judges thought Donny should have won.

Just like I bet you fell for the Vet-card on Martinez too and let him win.

This was disappointing. Mya really should have made an argument about doing her freestyle. She was my favorite for Season 9 and I would have loved to see her win this thing. However, I don't think it was Dmitry's choreography that did her in. I think it was his inexperience in the Freestyle that made them suffer.

strangly Mya doesnt seem to be able to move much here. it's Dmitry who has the groove. if Mya had kept up with Dmitry the dance would certainly have been much more fun to watch.

@Prinze187 I disagree , I think osmond would have still won no matter what or how good Mya performed the freestyle; osmond has got the symphathy vote, since he has been in show biz for decades, and also his sister was on this show prior, and she did not win, so the people watching at home gave the trophy to him.

He won because besides, having the highest-scored freestyle, he had a lot of showmanship, energy and connected very well with the audience and the viewers. People like that. Him winning because his sister lost has nothing to do with it but that's obviously what you thought.

I'm not sure what "injuries" Mya had, but they ALL have injuries in the finals, that's no excuse. Kelly had some issue with her feet and they were numb on show night so she could preform, and Donny had a broken toe, so you can't exactly use that as an excuse for Dmitry's bad choreography. Sounds mean, but it's the truth! :)

Dmitry really ruined this for Mya. This freestyle sucked. They should have gone with her idea. she didn't have to do a lot of lifts, but it could have been more exciting. You are a wonderful choreographer Dmitry, but in the free dance, you suck!

I don't think this dance is as bad as everyoone is saying. I thought it was cute with high energy and personality. I think it needed more tricks and lifts, but with Mya's ankle being sprang that wasn't going to work. Even if they would have gone with Mya's idea and received a 10 the judges still gave Donny the #1 spot in the last dance on Tuesday. I bet Donny still would have won due to his fan base. I think the judges made them tie in pts. so it wouldn't look so bad when he won.

Well, Dmitry will be a favourite if he is on next season. After getting this opportunity to showcase his talents, he'll be remembered and accepted as one of the best pros on DWTS.

I'm sure Dmitry was ill-advised to think Hairspray was going to be a good freestyle. Hairspray is a story about a Plump, overweight teenager - - no where is Mya close to plump so that already was a wrong scene. On the other hand, Donny is an old entertainer who needs some validation, award that'll make him happy and yes he tried his best...let's give it to him. Mya and Dmitry can win some other time so let's just give it to Donny. Congrats Donny.

i was angry at dmitry as well but he is a good choreographer. actually who i found boring this season was derek who was not very innovative and many times used the same moves and similar choreo than in previous season. dmitry was excellent up untill this point. but he screwed up the freestyle majorly. i don't get it! this show may be scripted

I think part of the problem with Mya was that she lacked connection with Dmitry - it was kind of all about her and it should be a partnership...which is part of the reason why (I think) Kym and Donny were successful!!

I love mya and I thought that she should have won but I really blame dmitry. Like said she wnated to go all out with her freestyle and show off her personality but dmitry insisted that they do hairspray and I was soo furious with him. Mya was a good sport and all but she trusted him and he let her down he really F&#%&$ up. I mean watch how Mya is dancing. she looks bored doing it and the judges looked bored watching it. I love Mya and I always will but this dance could have been soooo much more.

LaneKSwenson, you are 100% right. I believe she would have won if she had gone with her own idea and shown her personality. That is why Donny won....Kym went with what Donny knows best...entertaining. I wanted Donny to win but was resigned to the fact that Mya would win until I saw this freestyle. Then I felt Donny had a chance. I wanted Marie to win but after that awful doll dance, even a fan couldn't vote for her. As they said, the freestyle can make or break you and I feel bad for Mya.

Dimitry's inexperience in his choreography(or his choice) is definitely showing. He even admitted in one episode that this is the furthest has gone in DWTS. I love him & think he is a great dancer but Mya is the one that brought them to the finals! As much as I want DMya to win, their freestyle is so insipid & everything the judges said is spot on especially Len! :[ I still hope that they will though!

I would love to see what Derek would have done with Mya! Next season maybe? ;p

I blame Dmitry because in the setup Mya wanted to do a Vegas style freestyle but he insisted on doing this instead and to me if you gonna do a hairspray inspired dance you should have went all out on it. I honestly dont know why they hyped up Donny's freestyle, it was like watching his Vegas show with Marie...but as much as I want Mya to win, they hoax this so that Donny could win it...I have a feeling this is gonna be another Mel B. and Helio ending some seasons ago with Helio winning...ugh!

JustMeBG, the reason they hyped up Donny and Kym's freestyle.....it showcased his personality. Mya's dance was just that...a dance. Sure, she's a great dancer but there was none of her personality in it. She disputed Dmitry's choreography before and I feel that Mya should have stood her ground and done her own thing. Yes, I was for Donny but was resigned to the fact that Mya would win, however, as they say the freestyle can make or break you. No fix....just wrong choices.
