I would recommend the Amiga/Dos version for the "full experience", but this is still worth playing as it has some alterations that are more appropriate for the Megadrive. Access to 4 cement panels, and slightly faster harvesters...and considering you could only select one unit at a time on the other versions, the mouse isn't as missed as it was for C&C for the PS or Saturn.

As someone who's played both versions I have to disagree with the megadrive version being the best. It has better music but fewer voice samples (and they're not as clear as the PC version), it's harder to controll the game in the sega version unless you own the sega mouse, The graphics also seem to run at a lower resolution making all the buildings and vehicles seem to big, cluttering the screen, it's also missing a lot of cutscenes from the PC version

i`m playing in this game on pc and still enjoying. if you want to play Sega/Nes/Snes games on PC, play it with gamepad, not with keybord

i remember when i was like 2 or 3 years old, my brothers would rent this from our local movie and video rental place and i would watch them play all the time. boy, the memories this video brings back... especially the music. and i remembered that when you would talk with other houses, the people and the music would kind of scare me a little. i'm so glad i could find a few videos on this game.

You might want to try the actual game Rom using a SEGA Genesis emulator, or try the better AMIGA (WinUAE emulator) & PC (DosBOX emu) versions.

Game is epic.You can play it forever. I've tried to win the game without building anything. No joke. The way to do it - is to kill enemies with your startup army, then capture building that makes money, tower near it... and so on you can win the game without building anyting, and guess what, it turns out to be REALLY hard and really interesting to play. I've played this game forever, but I still have 1/20 chances to win 9th mission without building anything

Dune 2 wasn't a typo. There already was a strategy with adventure elements (by Cryo in 1991) called Dune so Westwood had to call the game Dune 2.

Both the Amiga and original PC version is great.

Despite the advance of RTS after all those years , Dune 2 still holds a candle as a great game, mainly because of its atmosphere. The simplier gameplay is also very charming, so the game pretty much still works today, even though it's basically the first of its genre.

I liked to play thill all spice us used and enemy bancropts, then just wait for their final assoult and chapture their undefended base, or send an engeneer to chapture turret in enemy base and build my turret close to it and then another one.

there is a PC version but its more like 8-bit, its really bad. What you can do is download Genesis emulator and download Dune 2 rom. You can find it everyware on the net and you also get 9 save slots (so you can quik save basicly).

This was a great game...I had to defeat it with every house and still wanted more. One trick I liked to use though, I would use my harvester to run over enemy infantry unit. It really saved time and friendly units.

I always thought dune 2 originally was made for amiga, or at least on amiga before the PC.
