ill never bother with a hd projector , because all movies i watch r xvid lol , i cant tell much different between sd and hd in movies anyway , so bleh
Are you serious?? Do you not know that XVID can cater for HD quality/size movies!? You won't tell the difference between SD and HD unless you've got an appropriate screen/projector lol!!!! Thats like saying that you can't see the difference between a Ferrari and a Skoda having never driven a Ferrari!!
um , i dint say that , i have a 1600p screen and a 1200p screen and a 1080p screen and a svga projector , ive seen hd movies on all these screens , and the HD isnt that much difference for what its worth at the moment , im happy with downlaoding a 700mb movie in 10 mins and playing it on a projector ,it takes like fucking 3 hrs to download a 6 gig hd movie , fuck that , when net speeds r better and when hd projectors r cheaper and my bulb dies then ima get one
How big are your screens and what sort of screens are they? Unless you've watched HD on a screen of at least 37" or bigger, you wouldn't *really* notice the difference. HD projectors are already cheap considering the size and quality of the screen that you end up!!
1600p is 24 inch , 1080p is 42 inch, i kinow there is a difference , but there only is if i make myself notice the finer detail, hd screens r better used for desktop computing and gaming , it really brings out detail in games at 1600p with the textures, like i said , id get a hd projector when the bulb dies on my cujrrent one and when new projectors with a LED lamp r dropped in price because bulbs is a con
@AshleyHall That's not really true, but I see your point. Resolution perception is just a matter of screen size versus distance from it. I can see the difference between 720/1080p on a 23" monitor sitting at arm's length, but not much further. You wouldn't see the difference between those resolutions on a 50" screen if you sit more than 11' away.
Aaah an HD projector? is it also 1080p??? How much!!! :P I'm still using a nonHD projector and have had it for about 6 years (still on its first bulb XD)
Though I've been hoping to maybe find a fairly good 1080 HD proj for around 1500 so that I can keep an eye on. Any suggestions???
havent a clue...lol, i purchased in jan 04 themescene tech said if i havent updated it then it would be the first ones without the latest update, its a good projector however i have seen on youtube the hd65 which looks amazing so instead of changing the lamp when it is time i might purchase hd65 (richersounds £500) the lamp cost me £400 before!
i dont know yet but i will try very hard to get it direct fm manufacture, i have had this projector for 5 years, as i am not satisfied with there being an image shift there i can leagally make a coplaint although i only have1 more year to make a complaint so i will try the route of "trading stds said consumer has 6 years to make a complaint if we are not satisfied with a product!
hi, yes thank i have found the factory menu it was up up left left! i have noticed in this menu that the Red is like -5 blue is -7 green 0???? is this std or has this just happend over time do u think? Also do you know where i could get a firmware upgrade for this projector as themescene dont seem to be interested in supplying me with one? thx
Ahhh nice one mate! Never firmware updated mine, so haven't a clue, lets try and find one on the internet, not sure how we'd update it though, Serial RS232 I presume? As for the colours, just reset it to Factory Settings and it'll go to whatever it should be.
its a long throw projector, 16ft away from the screen for 8ft image, used to look really good now it always looks as though gamma is set to high (its only on 2!) could be dust i have not openned up the projector i have only ever cleaned the lens on the outside.
Try resetting it back to factory settings, from memory its 'up up left left' or something like that - then the factory menu will appear, actually it might be 'up up right right? Let me know how you get on.
Sounds like you've perhaps got a dusty lense or that you're too close to the surface you're projecting onto and so it can't focus? How far away are you?
yup. i used to work for sevenoaks sound and vision, taking a customer from dem to complete installation , now im a self employed installer, have a look at some of our speakers just type in audiofreeq.
The H55 was first launched around 5 years ago and as with any electrical gadget, discontinued a few years later, but as you can see they are still going strong - this one is for sale if anyones interested!!
Hey mate, yeah they're lovely - THIS ONE IS NOW FOR SALE as I'm upgrading, anyone interested, send me a message!! Out of curiosity, what did your dad get for his? This has an aluminium case, all cables, manual and a new bulb.
Posting a new video shortly to show how my lounge is setup for home cinema, including the 8"x6", 11" deep hole that I've made in the wall through which the projector projects!!
Sadly yes it is - the video quality is incredible (camcorder comparable) but the mic just sounds mono and grainy, very disappointing, but otherwise a great camera.
Perhaps the later models of the camera resolve this, but I don't think its firmware upgradeable so believe we're stuck with it like that!

I was thinking exactly the same, you'd have thought they'd reduce the lamp cost for the older projectors by now wouldn't you!!

What is this noise
is it from the camera?
Peraj82 3 years ago
Read the other comments, the noise quality is unfortunately the downside of an otherwise excellent Digital Camera, the Panasonic TZ3
