In Adibe premiere you import both videos and then just resize each to make them side by side. You can do unlimited windows. The render oy sees the one screen when done

Results are instant when you are working on it. I have done a much better job on recent ones. This one looks kind of bad by comparison. To tender was quick, even on my laptop.
