  • awesome nWo

  • i miss these days 1997 was a awesome year for wrestling i loved the fact the nwo had their own ppv special ...the setup remind me of the wildside music video by motley crue lol...

  • Why did they program this PPV against Super Bowl XXXI?

  • @FutureNewsAnchor They didn't. They had it on Saturday!

  • WCW PG>>>>WWE any era

  • PG or not doesn't matter. It's the current WWE PG era, in which PG has to equal stupid and stale. WCW was PG and they were not only doing revolutionary things, but were the most successful and popular company at the time.

  • Funny intro and a hell of a set and ring area, especially the lghts spelling out various things. Makes it look like a rock concert or something. The one time in wrestling history that a heel stable ruled the marquee xD. DX or WWE for that matter haven't did anything like this before or after. Genius concept

    lmao Nash 3:34 - 3:44

  • What a genuis concept, instead of NwO just been a faction, they took over WCW and had their own p.p.v, why cant wrestling be like this anymore. The WWE is a pile of shit these days and I have not watched a full Raw in over 6 years coz its a pile of PG shit , each show is just a promo for the next p.p.v and there always one big let down, the storys and current talent are just an empty void. Back in the mid 90's till 2000 wwf and wcw were great viewing both trying to out do each other.

  • @BLUWAR Ironic you say that because WCW was rated PG at this time. And WWE didn't turn back to PG until the summer of 2008.

  • You do realise that WWF was PG long before the attitude era, right?

  • @squidlad

You do realize that WWF also wasn't gay, and WWE is gay.

  • Yeah and The Bastion Booger, Duke the Dumbster Droze, Doink the Clown and The Goon were also totally not gay.

  • @squidlad

You could of mentioned Goldust, and even Goldust is not nearly as gay as John Cena.

  • That may have been the best PPV intro ever. Oh hell, it was!

  • @rjbonacolta Yeah it was, but the reason that it didn't continue like this is cuz it didn't generate the revenue it hoped for so it was turned into a WCW and nWo co-promoted PPV.

  • this show was a good concept....the problem WCW ended up having is that their commentators on later shows would constantly talk about the nWo and the main event, even when it was something completely unrelated....so Malenko and Guerrero would be having a kick ass match, and the announcers would be ignoring it

  • DiBiase is having Trouble with Headset.

  • I wish I could find this on vhs.

  • Dont listen to that WWE clown, he wasnt even alive in the nWo era, goback to your WWE PG shit, this PPV was awesome, not one shit match, not every match has to be 60min iornman match mat classic to be fun, this show entertains you from top to bottom, theirs something for everybody here, and it is just such a unique concept never seen on PPV before and never since, it felt like I was watching Mad Max or Escape From LA, this was attitude before the WWE did it, great stuff, we miss you WCW/nWo.

  • @sevenforcex Exactly

  • This was the crappyest PPV ever

  • @ughvinny u damn rite BRING BACK WCW!!!!! dat wwe shyt suck n gettin old

  • Better get used to that garbage truck, Eric.

  • @ekedolphin Maybe he can find WWE's creative department and talent relations

  • i miss the nwo announcer

  • is sting wearing earring 3:50

  • @lebaneseprince25 Yes but that wasnt the real Sting, that was "nWo Sting," the imposter.

  • @nicknitro6969 ROFL what is wrong with you? lol

  • Bischoff up on the podium addressing the masses reminds me of that part in The Wall by Pink Floyd.

  • ts 2 bad tht u cant c a damn thing during the whole opening

  • what was the mai storyline in wwe back here? and was it better? (obviously not)

  • @DarthRevan1051 - The main WWF storyline at this time around January 97, was the Undertaker feuding with Nash's Deisel character, remember the spot when Nash saw himself in the casket at ringside ?? I think that was all part of the Taker / Nash angle from January 97 in WWF. No, I don't think it was better... lol ;)

  • @EducatedRebellion101 -Dude,how could the WWF storyline in January 1997 be the Undertaker vs. Nash as Diesel when Big sexy had been in WCW since June 1996 fronting the NWO vs. WCW storyline? LOL

The featured story in the WWF in January 1997 was the Austin/Hart feud.

  • @EducatedRebellion101 That was 96 dude! the feud ended at WM12

  • Is that Borash at 5:00?

  • Comment removed

  • This ppv was awesome they should have more where the concept was to promote new talent under the nWo banner and then built a fed from there

  • lol damn WCW's lucky they had cash

  • this show SUCKED.

  • Haha.

    Taco Bell at the beginning.

  • thanks for the upload. been looking for this forever!

  • you moron nWo wasn't a separate organisation it was a faction WCW had made to make it look like they were invading the company, you should brush up on your wrestling dude, your comment it's 100 thumbs down worthy....95 and counting...

  • @Cooli3T Thanks tips. I was making reference to how stupid the storyline was, and how it made no sense. I'm not saying that everything WCW did with the nWo angle was bad, however, this PPV is very hard to watch.

  • The time that I was a fan of the WWE also happened to be the time Eric Bischoff was running the show there.

Just goes to show you. WCW Forever. WWE Never.

  • The original nWo. Complete with their own PPV. DAMN, I miss the old WCW. It got pathetic toward the end, but it was the hottest thing going at one time -- around this time, actually.

  • thnx, been wanting to see this ppv again 4 a while homie. im tired of this new john cena wwe shit. and most of the new guys look like some tough enough no talent punks, title changes to quick, and u see the same move sequences from the stars all the time. TNa is okay it just looks cheap, and the music ABSOLUTLEY SUCKS!!!! I don't know what the hell happened to the original ECW

  • "hey look at me" lol.

  • does any1 have a copy of this ppv? .. i can't seem to find it released on vhs or dvd anywhere :/ .. lemme kno if u have a copy cuz i'd be willing to purchase one .. thank you :)

  • look at how original and innovative this shit is! Back in 97, honestly, it is not a snappy quote, this nWo thing truly changed professional wrestling. Bischoff deserves all the credit.

  • let's not forget, the nWo had the best theme song ever. once the music hit, everyone knew they were in for something good.

  • i use to have this on tape, anyone know where i can get my hands on a copy?

  • why dont u try checking your tape for a copy. hahaha

  • truly Classic!

  • Best OWNAGE reply ever -- "What the hell were you thinking?"

  • lets face it, at the height of their popularity no one came close to the greatness of the nWo!! bischoff was a genius for creating this storyline it was the fact that they werent just a side faction doing their own thing like dx they were kicking everyone ass and even bullying the commmentators ,something dx never did!! there have been many imitations=evolution,dx,m.e.m but there is only one nWo and it was the greatest time to be a wrestling fan!!! too sweeet!!-thanks for the memories nWonitro!!

  • Urm, did they forget what they were doing about half way through this?

  • nWo was the SHIT, DX had nothing on them back then.

  • Damn, with WWE still using DX, it makes you wish they could somehow resign Nash and Hall (and, obvious, get Hall in somewhat decent shape) to finally give the fans what they want.... DX versus nWo. They're all old, but I'll guarantee that they'd still draw. Sadly, though, it looks like it will never happen.

  • Exactly @ your second to last line. "They're all old, BUT, they would STILL, DRAW."

    Abso-fuckin-lutely!

  • sorry to say, but DX never had anything on this nWo.

  • @chAdRAp dx didnt exist in january 97

  • @chAdRAp true rue the nwo had a montage of cop cars and a garbage truck and dx had a jeep an rocky as the driver

  • Eric Bischoff Intro=FTW

  • What does Bishoff say at 3:45? That's in the nWo theme but I can never quite understand what he says lol.

This was without a doubt one of the best and most iconic ppv's ever put out by any wrestling organization!

  • "We are in control."

  • it was the coolest PPV I have ever seen in my life !!

  • As much of a fan of DX I am...

    nWo>DX

THIS KICKED ALL KINDS OF ASS!

    ...oh and 4 Life!

  • Best Wrestling intro ever!!!

  • If I remember correctly, this was the PPV where Bill Goldberg eliminated everyone else in a battle royal to win it. When you have uploaded all the parts, which part will contain that match?

  • This is long before goldberg

  • Nah, that was an edition of Nitro in June/July 1998. Goldberg only debuted on 9/23/97 Nitro.

  • Actually, I just went on Bill Goldberg's official site, and I found out that he debuted on 9-22-97, and the Battle Royal that he won by eliminating everybody was at a PPV called Road Wild, not on Nitro. It was at Sturgis, SD, at it was held on 8-8-98. Also, if you go there, count the # of matches in The Streak. It should be 173, but there are only 143 matches listed.

  • in an interview Mike Tenay said a count was lost, Goldberg won over a hundred matches but they lost count and just added about 30 or 40 false wins. eventually they said 173 but thats false.

  • I can definitely believe that when you consider everything else in wrestling is exaggerated to the point of being cartoonish.

  • Yeah, WCW had Goldberg beat somebody on a house show and be 102-0, then the next night on Nitro they'd add like 10 more wins on.

Jericho says it in his book.

  • I'll have to read it again. It is one of the funniest books ever written. I bought it and got it autographed by Chris the same day that Lillian Ellison died, aka The Fabulous Moolah.

  • Gotta say though, I love Eric Bischoff's book. The man is a genius who made some bad mistakes with WCW.

  • I've read his too. Got his autograph on it as well. as I was reading it, I realized that some of the mistakes weren't his fault. The suits at TBS and TNT never wanted wrestling on those networks in first place. It was doomed to fail no matter what Eric did. i also have autographs on To Be The Man, The Hardcore Diaries, and Bret Hart's autobiography. Next up for me is Hulk Hogan's My Life Outside The Ring.

  • Cedar Rapids, Iowa the nWo Capital of The WORLD!!!! IOWA RULES

  • NWO were a powerful force

  • I go back to the Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling days. From then until the NWO era, it was all cartoonish with severely weak story lines. NWO came, NWO left, and what do we have today..... Bob Barker, Cedric the Entertainer, Seth Green.....

  • The nWo era was the greatest era in the history of professional wrestling... period!!!!!!
