Hey Man - You need to get a new stylus for that player - this sounds dreadful - It is a shame to spoil a great records' reputation by using this set up - its giving me the needle..... You've put some other stuff on Utube too that sounds really awful . Contact Musonic or someone to get a new one
Bought this 78 and broke it on the way home. Had to go back and buy another. Haven't played it for at least 40 years. The flip side "Say Yeah" is good as well.
My memory isn't so good these days (old age?) but the sum of 6 shillings and 8 pence (pre- UK decimalisation) springs to mind (I'm sorry I can't be more certain). Converted at today's rate of approximately 1 dollar 50 cents to the UK pound would be roughly 22cents. I don't know what the conversion rate was back then.
Sammy Salvo is a great singer. In Chile, was big hit (1958-1960). Chilean radios, now, play everyday his songs: Oh Julie, Say yeah, Julie doesn't love me anymore (sorry, I don't speak english...)
Youtube search MANUEL VARGAS (DISCO 45 and VIVA EL ROCK AND ROLL) and you will see an honoring to many beautiful songs of these years.
Sammy Salvo graduated from Ensley High School, Birmingham, AL. Sammy Played sock hops at Phillips H S, Ensley H S, and a couple National Guard Armory events.

I had a few 78's as a kid but they were given to me. Do you remember the cost of this 1978?

Hi ronaldt491,
My memory isn't so good these days (old age?) but the sum of 6 shillings and 8 pence (pre- UK decimalisation) springs to mind (I'm sorry I can't be more certain). Kindest regards from the UK.
