  • How did you get that tach to work so well? I also have a 350 tbi in my 87 chev with the same sunpro tach but it jumps around quite a bit and won't rev past 4 grand? Any solutions?

  • Yo man i was just wondering what kind of trannys these trucks came with stock.cus i bought a jet chip for 92 k1500 but made my 90 gmc sierra idle extemely high and just wondering if it was the same motor and trans

  • hey i got a 94 350 1500 i want to put headers and do a cat delete but idk what headers to buy and good ones any advice bro. nice truck btw

  • I'm running the older style Gibson shorties (The new ones are are shaped a little different, if I remember right). Mine are sprayed in VHT FlameProof header paint, which is flaking off, so I'd just leave them bare or wrap them. Wrap works nicely, I use it on my car's Borla header (Subaru).

There are tons of header designs out there, each has its advantages and disadvantages. My #1 complaint with mine is that I can't change the spark plugs without pulling them partially off.

  • For what it's worth, I'm rebuilding my mother's '95 Suburban K1500 350 this winter, and when it goes back in, we're going to try out a set of Flowtech mid-length headers and the crossover pipe to match, with a Flowmaster 70 series big block muffler to keep it tame on roadtrips. I'll be interested to see how those fit.

  • i have the flowtech headers on my moms 1992 chevy stepside there great but the paint was wore off quick and the second bolt on pass. side i had to hold the header out and bolt it in slowly otherwise the bolt got stuck on the pipe that sucked but otherwise there good mine were only a 100 but now there more for some reason since oreilly auto parts took over checkers

  • @737LUVR buy header plugs it still might not make it much easier but it did on mine.. plus they hold up to the heat of the headers better I actually had an electrode fall out of my one plug we think it was from the added heat

  • put headman headders

  • oh by the way... sweet sounding truck!!!

  • I got a 94 1500 and i am putting flowtec headers on it. the truck started out as a slow 4.3L and I recently blew the tired v6 so i did the swap and now have a 350. I also am in auto body in college and I took care of what rust I did have and prevented the rest. I am just finished whith a b&m shift kit and the thing shifts so hard that i get rubber half way through second. also underdrive pullys and a cam will do for this summer of spending. im just a poor college kid cardomain= arcticlover2007

  • Sick truck man. Check out my 91 some time.

  • yeah, i love it. the color is actually a color called torch red. the code is 4228 on the chevy color list from 1994. i did all of the work myself.

when you rebuild the top end, i suggest you go ahead and have it re-ringed. trust me on this one. i have seen them blow the whole bottom end apart when somebody does a top end rebuild.

  • is it true dualed? i am just asking because i have a true dual setup with headers and super 44's, and it sounds nothing like yours. mine idles a little lower too. at about 500 RPM to be exact lol

  • Unfortunately, not true duals. When this was made I had stock manifolds. She idles a bit lower when fully warmed up, 500 sounds right. In the video, it's a cold start/idle, then partially warmed up idle/rev.

I'll get another clip soon, I just bolted on a set of Gibson shorty headers yesterday. Lots more torque! >:)

  • good deal. i like gibson headers. they do a pretty good job. i have hedmann long tubes, and let me tell you, that sucker screams!! sadly i dont have a sound vid on here, but i do have a walk around. you should check mine out. but yeah, i noticed an increase in touque in mine as well ^_^

  • Mine still isn't quite as loud as I'd like it to be, but it keeps the neighbors happy. When I bought it a year ago it had open manifolds (crossover pipe had rusted out) and was loud as crap! Didn't sound that great though. When I get the cash, I'll go for true duals, but for now, I'm stuck with single-in/dual out setup.

    Other misc mods:

Rear brakes converted to discs (ebay!)

    Slotted rotors all around

    Fully-built Raptor 700R4 trans

    Throttle-body bored

  • thats awesome man. i put a set of Dart heads on mine and it has a small cam. an RV cam actually. but its so damn strong though lol. my throttle body is a factory stocker, but it has a spacer and a cold air intake. my tranny is a new 700R4. just put it in a few months ago. trust me, when you get it true dualed, you will be one happy sumbitch lol
