lol ive done that before i backed up onto an eletric fence while i was scrathing my horses bum the shock went through my bum and into my horses bum xD I didnt mean to but it was funny xD
Electric fences are cruel, my barn has some and my horse is terrified of fences now, it took me 2 hours to get him through the gate, i was shocked too, almost needed to go to the hospital and if it wasn't pulsing i would have not been able to let go.

Haha @ topcomment : Electric shocks going through your body transfer to anything connected to you ^^ If you hold someone else his hand, they will feel it as well, basic science my friend. So when the girl leaned to the fence, both horses got a shock through what must be one of the most sensitive parts of the body, not only the girl. That's why you're always adviced to find a dry wooden stick to poke at someone 'glued' to something electric, to not get stuck as well.
@ponyangel1987 The girl felt the shock. I have used electic fences for numerous years and if the horses had gotten shocked through her it wouldn't have hurt her at all. I was a nasty little kid and did it to my brothers a lot. Also, I have been shocked while straddling an electric fence and seem to be fine, I'm sure an animal that's much larger than me can handle one shock. It's a lot less painful than them tangling with any other type of fence.

It's not funny, but I do like the electric fence better. It seems like a small zap to the horses like saying "Hey! Don't do that." It's not painful, just really a shock. (no pun intended) It keeps the horses in, and they learn really quickly not to go near the fence. It's not cruel. I got shocked by one before, and it hurt! Not badly though. I just wasn't expecting it. It really isn't bad.
@MiiriChan yeah... not all fences. I use to go to this farm that had REALLY strong electric fences, but they had a horse that would walk thro anything less. One time my mom asked me if the fence was on and i said idk and she told me to go look but the box was on the other side of the huge pastrue and i was to lazy to walk all the way other there so i just put my hand on it.... the next thing i remimber was 2 of my friends and my mom around me on the ground laughing and going OMG R U OK?! lol

@Ceptecatoto A lot of horses are disrespectful towards fences, my horse used to push the fence over and get out. You don't want that to happen if you live on a busy road like I do. It's only a quick shock, nothing to damadge them. :)
@Ceptecatoto Some horses simply won't stay in regular runs and pastures with normal wooden fences. My uncle had several horses that were fenced in with a traditional wooden fence reinforced with an electric fence. They still got out. Two horses got hit with a truck. One died, the other broke her leg. Now, would you prefer more horses get hit and killed or that they get a little shock? It's not bad. We used to shock ourselves on the fences for fun as kids.
hahaha that happened to me one time, i went to summer camp at a barn and they had electicle wire around on of the paddocks (the one i was riding in) and i accidentally rubbed my leg against the wire and me and my horse spooked lol... i gave her tons of treats after that to show her it was all ok =))
ha ha wish i had a video of the one at my grandmas farm getting me. i unplugged it so i could climb though at the far end of the pasture. grandma walk in the barn and plugged it back in just as i was going though the fence. She was also the one that asked me to go up to the end of the pasture.
I did that to my horse taking the bridle off! We came back from a trail ride, my friend and I, and I backed into it by accident. We just got a new electric fence too. It hurt!!
They were scared from the slight shock, they wern't hurt or anything, horses are flighty animals, they're un-predictible and spook really easily. They caan't change that :L x

Omg i did this when we got our new fencing which was extra hott and i was putting on a halter and fell backwards onto the fence and my horse reared and ran away so I had to go catch her again and had to regain her trust :)
Haha done that before. I was leaning over the gate feeding my miniature horses. The gate touched the wire fence and zapped straight through my arms, through the apples and into the minis. They were fine. In fact, they chased the apples all the way down the hill trying to get them XD

Guys, stop the mean comments. There was an electric fence at the old barn, and it startled the horses but didn't hurt them. Once I leaned against a fence for ten minutes and didnt realize I was getting shocked until it vibrated through my shirt.

yeah well DUDE learn that a) the shock from the particular fence cant harm a human yet alone a horse and b) the magnitude of the shock depends on the water in your body and how fast the electricity travels through your body (ergo a horse, being larger, feels the shock even less than the woman). If you are clueless when it comes to horses and how easily they get scared and bolt, that sure as hell ain't my problem.

@LucyIsMyLife not neccessarily, it's a simply electric fence, when you touch it the electricity goes through your body and anything yu touch, for example a horse. IT happens all the time.

that was too funny. and people, it was a freaking accident ok? its not mean. Horses do it to THEMSELVES on accident. These people who claim cruelty to animals need to be tossed into a mess of barbed wire and see if they decide they like the electric fence better!

Ha! Man, thats funny, we have electric fences to, I was crawling under one and touched the back of my head on it, it knocked me down and I coulden't move for about 15mins. It's fun to "anncidently" knock someone into it. Hehe. Not fun when they get up and knock your teeth out, and throw you on it. {*:-(

how can you crit on this video? she ACCIDENTLY touched the fence and of course jummped. not trying to scare the horses. and if i walked passed a field with horses in i would do exactly the same, it's not illegal. be greatful she was petting them not hurting them or feeding them crap!

@LucyIsMyLife not neccessarily, it's a simply electric fence, when you touch it the electricity goes through your body and anything yu touch, for example a horse. IT happens all the time.

IT happens all the time. if you have something weaker than it will be ineffective, the horse will rub against your fence, wearing it down, possibly getting chunks of wood stuck in their necks (happened to a friends horse) and other stuff.

@missionxminded yeah wow, and you would think i didnt know that? when i first saw this video, i thought it was just a realyl strong electric fence, now i see that she was stroking the horse the same time as she touched it, causing the electricity to flow through her to the horse. i am not 5, who doesnt know how that works.
