  • this helps me a lot i usually learning a few dialogue while watching anime but this is sooo much better

  • In Japanese there is no R sound, the R sound is replaced with the L sound. All you got to do is watch the movie, Lost in Transalation and you will discover this fact. ( " Lip my stocking " " HEY, LIP MY STOCKING " LIP THEM LIP THEM " WHAT? " Lip them, like this. You want me to Rip your stocking? " YES "

  • men ithink it"ll take me long to memorize all this

    "sigh"

  • this is a pen XD (hetalia)

  • Omgosh I really wanna learn Japanese

  • You are very beautiful. Domo arigato gozai masu

  • imabijapaneselearningcenter

  • ur beaUTIFUL, ARIGATOO

  • this kind of vidio makes you feel so good if you know it already, mastered this, the rest of the language to go!

  • This is like Japanese for the retarded.

If you actually need to watch this video in order to learn the easiest part of the language then i suggest you stop trying.

  • do you always add the "desu" on a object?

  • @kiki69966 - 'Desu' means "is". For example, if you say "Kore wa pen desu", it translates directly as "This a pen is". Japanese' structure is SOV, whereas that of English is SVO, so, of course, it is properly translated as "This is a pen".

  • arigatô*

  • I hate that it is only 11 years old kids watching this because they only like anime.

I love this! Arigatō gozaimasu! Im moving there to study in a few years :D

  • @PinkyCupcakez I'm not 11 years old I am 15 and I watch anime, I started studying Japanese because of anime and now like you want to move there to study when I can. I understand where you're coming from but it can come off a little rude when you say hate.... :) But congrats on studing in Japan hope you have a good time.

  • @Arashinokisu yes not being mean, but i belive japan has more than the anime, im really into their culture and history :) I like anime too and im 15 too :D ♥

  • @PinkyCupcakez Thanks! I'm into the history and culture too! (I have to study on my own because my school doesn't offer it :| ) But without anime I would've never gotten into it (Japanese is kind of intimidating!) Good Luck! and thanks for understanding!

  • @Arashinokisu mee 2 if i havent star washing anime i havent been interesting in the japanese now i love it

  • @Arashinokisu I'm glad you're interested in the culture beyond Anime. :) I'm also extremely interested in their culture and have been studying Japanese for a few years now.

But, don't let it intimidate you. The more it seems intimidating, the less you'll want to study it.

One key thing, if you really want to learn the culture, you can't stop learning about it. Also watch more JapDrama close to real life events, than Anime. It'll help you a lot more.I've been to Japan and it helped.

  • @dragonballz0 Thanks! I have started watching Jdramas its a big help my aunt (who speaks japanese and taught in japan for some years) gave me a study book, its all been a big help! Don't worry I'll never give up!

  • @PinkyCupcakez I'm glad there people out there who want more out of Japan than Anime. :) I've been studying their culture and have been to Japan a few times.

If you want to go and visit Japan, keep studying about their culture and history (especially reading Hiragana). You'll get far over there and they'll like and help you more. :)

My first trip, barely knew any Japanese and still they were extremely friendly to me. :) I'm more into their culture, history and technology. :)

  • @dragonballz0 Soo nice! I wish to go there someday :)

I really would love to visit kyoto, Im in love of the culture there and im glad i found someone else that like Japan not just because of the anime and kawaii stuff :)

  • arigatou

  • i need a teacher like her to teach me lessons, if you know what i meant

  • ok thx now i wount get slap by sora any more for my speaking

  • I loove it! thanks for all your time spent in this videos! it has helped a lot (at least for the basics)

  • Yuu Asakura is very good teacher and very good looking...

  • This is actually hard, she's teaching and distracting at the same time. Do I focus on her or on the board? Arghhh

  • arigato ^_^

  • HEY! She didn't use It or they! Crud, REPLAY!

  • @luvmypup93 There isn't a correct translation for the words "It" of "They" in Japanese. To say "It is a book" you would say "Hon desu". Hon = books. The sentence translates more literally to something like "Is a book". And to say "They are books" you would simply just say "Hon desu". In Japanese nouns don't really have plural forms, so they just stay the same. :)

  • Io parlo Italiano... along with english now i want to learn japanese

  • Would kore wa pen desu ka ? mean is this a pen then ?

  • How do you say your giving me a hard on?

  • i love this lady

  • OMG! im learning japanese!! *suscribe*

  • you are the best teacher on youtube

    god !!!!!

  • wat does dessu mean?

  • @pinkzombies80 it does not have a meaning of its own, usually used at the end of a sentence.. its something like a grammar link for japanese to highlight the subject... something along the lines >.<

  • @pinkzombies80 You mean "desu" only with one s, that means "be".

  • Learn to speak Japanese confidently with these interactive audio lessons, watch the video - youtube.com/watch?v=wfseANZtMNg

  • kore wa pen nis? ugh! BAD PHRASE

  • It's spelt "Kore wa pen desu".

  • @aremmendez HAHAA!

  • Looking at the comments confuses me...I have made a new years resolution to learn Japanese...but this is just so hard. I really must try harder. If anyone wants to help me...post a comment on my page.

  • Try using Rosetta stone. It has helped me a lot.

  • What they say the phrase Desu or something like that do u pronounce the "u " or no ? or do u pronounce it slightly ? And how does that rosseta stone worked ive seen the commercials and sht but never spoken to someone who has actully used it

  • Rosetta stone is very good. It has helped me more than anything else. If you get stuck on something you can try it again and again. But it never gets boring because it always has something else to teach you. :)

  • you pronouce the 'u' softly and quickly.

  • i use that but they dont teach you common greetings at the beginning

  • it's a little bit hard, but nothing you can't master with some effort (:D)

  • if y our talking to another person to say like what is that ? would it be Sore wa nan desu ka ? and say if your answereing that question youd say: kore wa isu ( newspaper ) desu. so sore refering to somone else and Kore as your self in those sentences ? if u got what i was trying to say please give me feedback. Arigato :) :)

  • Isu means chair :)

  • For someone like me who does not speak ANY Japanese, these lessons are so helpful and easy, thanks for posting the videos!!!! it would cost a fortune to take special classes to learn the same thing....... domo sumimasen

  • @nybaby40 do you mean to say domo arigatou? bcoz sumimasen is "excuse me", arigatou is "thank you".

  • @Otakuman555 .... I meant to say just Domo ... thanks for pointing it out :D

  • @nybaby40 I here your learning japanese. I can help teach you more complex sentences AND converstaional phrases/ everyday speak. Just check out my channel under "japanese lessons" playlist. You can skip lesson one if you know how to greet people, In lesson 3 i start talking abotu sentences and you can watch from there. people have said watching them makes conversaion easy. Try it out please,

    Abby

  • arigitou ( thank you ) for posting this videos it really helps me

  • Calling "sore" and "are" "that" and "it" is really really misleading, and I have no idea why you included sorera in this lesson. They both mean "that" but I think SORE is something near the second person, and ARE is something away from both of you. The house in the distance is ARE and the pen in your friends hand is SORE. Will you give me that pen? そのペンをくれる?"It" is a very misleading translation.

  • i love her breast more then the japanese.

  • Object in speaker's domain = kore "this one"

Object in listener's domain = sore "that one"

Object away from both = are "that one over there"

    dare? "which one?"

  • DARE = who

I believe what you are referring to is "DORE"

  • @maikeru01 yes. sorry about that xD

  • This is a great instruction guide

  • 138,989 videos! omg!

  • they , im sry, sorera, has way more than that

  • What is this Kana?

  • it's HANA and it means flower

  • No i mean the althebet but i made a mistake anyway.

  • Kana is a type of writing, not wording xD

  • thats what i said(after i corrected myself_)

  • You're welcome.

    Btw...

This video is called : how to talk about OBJECTS in Japanese.

So for those of you who didn't notice she translated SORERA as THEY.

But you can't say: THEY BOOKS.

    Sorera means THOSE not they.

  • sorera means they, those and these, she just thinks that we got it, doesnt have to say all possible options coz once we could just get lost.

  • how would I describe something in the possessive tense? (i.e. it is mine, this is mine)?

I think it's close to "watashi no sore desu" or "watashi no kore desu" but I'm not sure.

  • This is my pen. - Kore wa watashi(several options for 'I') no pen desu.

That is my house. - Are wa watashi no ie desu.

  • wow thanks!

  • I thought "uchi" meant house though. What's the difference between "uchi" and "ie?"

  • Uchi and ie both mean house, but uchi is more like home and ie more like the house/building itself.

Uchi can also mean family or is used for a family member i.e. : uchi no kanai = wife - uchi no hito = husband

  • when can you use dearimasu and dearimaskua?

sorry if i spelt it wrong.

  • man japanese girl/women kawaii 4ever!!!

  • what does it mean when you add "ne" in a sentence(not a question) at the end?

  • it's mean something like "isn't it?" but it's more like a rhetorical question

  • thx.

  • ne isn't always used in a question. I wish she explained that a little more.

If someone says something like, nice weather, huh?

    ii tenki desu ne?

    the response can be:

    so desu ne.

    (yes, it is)

You will also hear 'desho' which is very similar. It's like saying 'nice weather, right?'

  • thanks. your response cleared my question. is just that i got confused cuz i've heard ne is questions and in normal sentences.lol thx again.

  • Doesn't "hana" mean nose?

  • yes, it does, but I guess often it means 'flower'

  • すごいい ね!!

  • what's the difference between sore and are? I thought they both meant "that" to some extent.

  • sore is something that is close to the listener; or something that has already been established earlier in the conversion.

are is something that is far away from both speaker and listener; or something new that is being introduced into the conversation.

  • ahh ive jus started learning japanese :)

i aint got nout down on writin yet jus the prouncin of the words =]

if anyoneeeee can help me learn me then msg me n il send you my addy or sumat =D

  • watashi wa isha desu

  • あなたは偉大な教師です

  • ハローお元気ですか?

  • Kore wa sensei shinsetsu na desu.

naze naraba anata dekiru kyojo hijo ni oku no !

  • thx ^^

  • Kore = object near me

Sore = object near person you're talking to

Are = object over there (neither near you or person you're talking to)

    Dore = which object. (question)

    Example.

Kore wa nan desu ka = what is this?

Sore wa enpitsu desu = That is a pencil

"Wa" and "desu" are grammar, for instance desu goes at the end of most sentences you will hear in Japanese. Question form is just "desu ka" and "Wa" can be replaced with "ga" in the negative and question form though you need specific subject.

  • oh maaan!!

    ty!

    ^^

dude, can u teach me 2 speak japanese?

  • Does 'wa' mean is?

  • no it makes something the subject.

  • so what does "wa" and "desu" mean?

  • watashi wa ni jyu san sai desu.lol you're very beautiful sensai

  • a good teacher and very beautiful :]

  • people ignore the idiotic comments from this account name.. my brother gets on youtube under my name all the time posting idiotically thought out comments that he obviously doesnt know wth hes talking about anyway...yeah i like anime but that me. so please dont spam me for his stupidity

  • she's a good teacher

  • sore = "it"?? :o Japanese doesn't even have a word corresponding to the English word "it".

kore = this (object is close to the speaker)

sore = that (object is close to the listener)

are = that (object is not close to either speaker or listener)

  • slicergutier. sore= that (over there)→when the object isnt close to the speaker or the listener. she just choose the wrong word. she was trying to get cloose.

  • damn ignore that 1st comment. sore= that (when the obect is closer to the speaker. are=that (over there)

  • sore can be translated as it. You use "it" as a pronoun in English only after what you have established what "it" is. Whereas "are" which you have defined as "object is not close to either speaker or listener" while that is true, would be translated as simply "that" because what it is has not been established.

春の天気は良いです。それは一番好きなきせつです。Spring weather is good. It is my favorite season.

    あれは何ですか。What is that?

    GET A LIFE OSAKU

  • Grammar error It's "Otaku" not Osaku get your words straight, now take those apples.

  • yeah you're right, its Otaku.. lol

  • leave them alone. It doesn't matter why someone learns something it's good that they are trying to learn something regardless of the reason. I feel that we should be supportive of peoples desires to learn whether it will come in handy or not.

  • lol me too

  • How does she know if I'm correct? It's freaking me out.
