I watched the two adaptations from his novel, but had no clue who he is at the time. I heard of Klavan after the whole "Bush is batman" thing. Now I'm reading Empire of Lies and enjoying it, a lot.
The only problem with the book is that people who are just like the main character would stay away from a book like that. I know a person like Jason, the main character. I'll recommend the book to him, though I don't expect much.
