A lot of boomers my age (56) heard the Don Henley version of this song before the Charlie Brown version. And a lot of people from Bon Jovi to U2 to Mariah Carey have covered it, usually using Charlie's original arrangement. But they all have to be shaking their collective heads when they hear this version. Not only does James put his unparalled voice to it, but he uses an arrangement that is his and his alone. ABSOLUTELY the most POWERFUL version out there!!
