Its possible that the freed slaves didn't have inalienable rights, but that only applied to them. Their American-born decendents do have them because they are not only full-fledged citizens, but they are actually natural born citizens. But this may apply to naturalized citizens.

Of all states, how could MA not guarantee the right to bear arms? One of the reasons behind the 2nd Amendment was the battles of Lexington and Concord. MA is a state of insanity.

The Court held that the right of an individual to "keep and bear arms" protected by the Second Amendment is incorporated by the Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment and applies to the states.

You canot go higher than Supreme Court of the United States...Mass overruled.

those law makers got their own armed body guards that's why they don't care if people can own fire arms or not. Still banning guns people can still go to mexico and get them from the drug cartels or local gangs. Then come back to America to commit crimes. Easy... Also criminals support gun bans so they can do their job easier..

Massachusetts. My home and native state. I love it here, however, the Commonwealth is bordering on socialism when it comes to gun laws/rights. The State Supreme Courts' decision is ludicrous. Carry on the torch of freedom Dave.

First to Comment! Dave, you bring up a point that, I believe, is hardly understood by 99.9% of all people in this country. The Income Tax, Obamacare and most other "Acts" or "laws" passed by congress are held EXCLUSIVELY on the 14th Amdt and Federal Jurisdiction citizen, NOT a Citizen of one of the several States of the union. If this is the case, then most laws simply to not apply to me and I don't have to bother myself w/ submitting myself to them. Please correct me if I am wrong. GREAT!
