i use a quality SHURE mic i bought from holland for around £125. this is linked to MultiMix8 (made by Alesis costs less than £200) which is firewired to my macbook laptop. the echo comes from the multimix pre-amplified. i used iMovie09 software which comes with mac. it does everything effortlessly. editing takes less than 30 minutes. the cam is the iSight built in cam that comes with all macs.

i hope that was helpful.
