Actually, I agree...Kingda Ka is a copy of "Top Thrill Dragster." But likewise...I will also state that Top Thrill Dragster is a copy of the original - Knott's Berry Farm's "Xcelerator." They were there first that I have ever seen to have originally built a ride similar to this...though it was only like a couple of hundred feet in height.

It's not really a copy, those rides were built in Intamins "Pioneering" days of Cabel launch systems, and they were preety much the most complex layout's they could do with that ride system at that time, now, they have evolved into much more complex layouts, like desert race, or hydra.

This is one of those questions that everyone will be asking for years to come! In my opinion they are a little different. Kingda Ka has a "Bunny hill" which gives no air time AT ALL, but my point being, it has a 116 foot hill after the top hat. Top Thrill Dragster has no hill, it has a sloping magnetic track.  Each ride has its pro's and con's. I cannot choose which one i like better. But if someone forced me to choose I would say Kingda Ka only because it is the tallest roller coaster!

They put OTSR's on this ride so that the weight limit is increasesd by about 150 pounds per seat, it was a very smart idea, but it does make it seem like TTD is better...
