There is quite a difference between showing footage of WWII or Vietnam for historical purposes and showing footage of 9/11 simply because you think your political party is the only one capable of keeping America safe. The images were most definitely exploitative.

I dont think that the RNC was "exploting" anything. If Olbermann does not agree we should defend ourselves from further attacks then I would see why he would disagree with it... If he agrees that we should defend our country then I see no reason for him to complain... Why shouldn't we be cautious of another terrorist attack? And LOTS of networks play photos of 9/11 still in documentaries, just like what showed at the RNC.
Clearly the RNC (and I'm a republican) was using the destruction of 9/11 to place fear into people's hearts so that they would support a republican president and the war on terror. And by doing that was exploitation and that was wrong.
the images shown were not exploitation. like bashingvash said, we should always show this images like we do of the holocaust and WWII so that we never forget it and learn from the past. I think what Keith (and I'm actually defending him even though I despise him) was offended by the words spoken by the narrator. Phrases like, "...and kill us they did." were pretty terrible to say.
When you show this during a campaign ad, it's a scare tactic, it's a tool to increase fear, and increase doubt in the other guy. It's distasteful at best and irresponsible for the RNC to allow it to be shown. Though 9/11 is a more tragic event, I would have the same reaction if the DNC showed Katrina footage for the purpose of garnishing votes.

There is quite a difference between showing footage of WWII or Vietnam for historical purposes and showing footage of 9/11 simply because you think your political party is the only one capable of keeping America safe. The images were most definitely exploitative.

the images shown were not exploitation. like bashingvash said, we should always show this images like we do of the holocaust and WWII so that we never forget it and learn from the past. I think what Keith (and I'm actually defending him even though I despise him) was offended by the words spoken by the narrator. Phrases like, "...and kill us they did." were pretty terrible to say.

When you show this during a campaign ad, it's a scare tactic, it's a tool to increase fear, and increase doubt in the other guy. It's distasteful at best and irresponsible for the RNC to allow it to be shown. Though 9/11 is a more tragic event, I would have the same reaction if the DNC showed Katrina footage for the purpose of garnishing votes.

AT 0.48 SECONDS, it shows you footage of the towers, WHY have they cropped it to look like the camera was looking at the already hit TOWER when the real footage is bang right in the centre of them both showing quite clearly the second plane hitting! DO YOURSELVES SOME JUSTICE WITH THE INTELLIGENCE YOU HAVE AND TYPE INTO THE SEARCH ENGINE.

Everything you say is true, except that McCain isn't really friends with Bush. He says that he is, but it's a well known fact among his Vietnam friends that he hates Bush's guts. But yeah. McCain has basically lost all his integrity and sold his soul to the Right-Wing nutjobs who treated him so badly in 2000.
