I was on the receiving end of Margaret's sharp tongue as a 19 year old at the stage door of the New Theatre Cardiff. I asked a question about the Edinburgh Festival and she dismissed it.I made allowances and have always loved her wonderful voice. One of the great lyric sopranos of the 20th century.

Ms. Price did a Verdi Requiem with Abaddo around the same time. Her Libera is the best I have ever head. The performance is available on dvd. It may even

be available on youtube. A young Jessye Norman and Jose Cararres are also

involved.

Margaret was a fantastic soprano with an enormous potential: Her character was not always easy and she was a very shy person. That did not help in her career. Shame because she was very talented and full of temperament.

Thank you for posting this recital of Dame Margaret Price.

No word to tell how we miss her.

But I assure you that she made one commercial recording of these four last songs. The fisrt time I heard that work was on record and this is how I heard M.Price and the four last songs for the first time in my life (by 1979 or 1980...).

At once I became an admirer of Strauss and M. Price and for ever since.
