@89ewsmith I have studied Scientology deeply. I have read Dianetics. Dianetics is a very poor work, veracious "scientific fact" claims with no references, no citations; just many bold statements which brainwashed Scientologists seem to accept without question or debate.

Mr. Galactic, i take it you are a scientologist yourself? I've got a question for you. If this is truly what you believe in, than why does Tommy Davis Deny it on T.V.? Most footage i've seen of scientologist when they are asked about Xemu/Xenu deny that this story exists..... I'm just interested in why they deny this story is real? And why so secretive? Kind of makes me think of FreeMasonry type stuff and the illumaniti. Are they elitist?
no, im not a scientologist, and i have only read one book ever and i put it down after the first chapter.
im just concerned by the amount of people who are prejudced against this religion and not against others. this religion just offers an alternative like other religions and is not a cult since it has thousands of members worldwide,
and to be honest i cannot answer them other questions since like many people, i dont know the full truth
People are prejudiced against this religion because it's not a free religion. They make you pay for different steps or Thetan level materials in order to progress through the religion. They conduct themselves more like a business, yet get the tax free benefits of religions that don't require Money. They've also been known to have members of this religion to outcast family and friends if they speak out against scientology. Even lying or ruining their names. They call this Free Gaming.
They also strongly urge they're people to not see psychiatrist, that's a big no no for them. This has actually lead to death in one occasion that i know of. They're a very oppressive religion that believes strongly in their ideals. Basically not that much different than any other organized religion. And because it's such a new religion, i think this one actually has the least amount of blood on it's hands. If you compare it to the more Popular religions. Can't believe i just said that.
I like how everything on zenu's the distant planets is the exact same as 1960's America. Who knew creating the foundations of a cult was so easy? The man didn't even need to make anything up.
For people who don't know, Hubbard spent most of his life fighting with the IRS. Scientology members even broke into IRS headquarters. So it makes sense that he equates the IRS with genocide at 2:25.
What a strange monotonous voice he had. How could anybody listen to him for any period of time without being bored to death? And how anyone could take it as anything other than a fictional story (and not a very good one) is beyond me.
"As you know you can't go past the speed of light...it took nine weeks."
Uhm, if they were going at the speed of light, wouldn't it take a year to go one light year, not nine weeks? :? I hate to say this, but I have to agree /w JillyX92, except I'd rather follow Kane from CNC. X-P
It is very clear these are the rantings of a man going insane 'if not there already', it's unfortunate he did not seek help for his condition, it's even more unfortunate that people follow the teachings of this mad man as if his psychotic ranting is fact.
Oh, and as to how he could come up with such outragious crap on his own, well he didn't. He pooled the delusions of his PCs together from the Auditing records and than injected his own agendas and biases onto them.
It isn't unreasonable for one man to come up with this kind of story. All good novelists do it. The problem that arises, though, is that he's presenting it as truth, and that people actually bought into it.
You do not think that he got at least some inspiration from listening in on the psychotic episodes of his followers? That would seem like a ready source of material, I would think it difficult for him to pass such a shortcut, Hubbard simply has to make it all follow some theme and you got an interesting story.
I didn't say he passed up a little shortcut here or there, I'm just saying it wouldn't be unreasonable for someone, especially a famous sci-fi novelist, to dream up a similar story all by himself. Did he? Who knows. It's lost to history.
Iteresting how he uses a Boston accent when quoting the GC. Either he's trying to tacitly critique Puritan New England or he was disgusted with Kennedy...
Roolah! LOL. Nice. What a nutjob. I don't have any problem with people believing this insanity. I'm a Christian, so our creation story sounds just as ridiculous. It's the deaths they've caused and the lives they've ruined that gets to me. (Yes yes, Crusades, Catholic molestation. Organized religion on the whole is bad news.)
.... by whch I mean that he had random thoughts, which we all have but know as just imaginatiom. Dementia stops that process so belief in these random thoughts becomes absolute to the point that you cannot rationally argue with those who believe them. As a science fiction writer and someone who knew about cognitive processes I guess that Hubbards ideas became a mix of rational and irrational thoughts that eventually became scientology.
i have a hard time following his cadence, and unusual word choices...
he's interesting to listen to, but there is something about his rambling that reminds me of a schitzophrenic...not that i'm saying he was one. i half wonder if he was making all this up on the spot.
no one is supposed to understand any of this, but it doesnt mean scientology doesnt do any good. By using scientology technology I can now do anything I want and the difference is that i couldnt do that before scientology.
$ci tech exists in bits and pieces everywhere! Hubbard got hte bulk of it from Crowley and intern Crowley admited in Book 4 to getting much of it from East-Indian sources. What Hubbard did was in catagorical fashion take these simple ideas and make them incomprehensable so that you would have to spend a shit ton of money to figure out what would normally take a few minutes (though he is also a cult leader, I recommend Roy Masters and other Free Zone people, their tech is more elegant)
it sounds like his whole Xenu thing was really a joke, even perhaps meant to be a kind of analogy for Hubbard's troubles with the government, with a little bit of the wheels coming of his hinges at the same time, very bizarre listening to this happen. and it does seem as though he's making it all up on the spot
"they had elected fella named Xenu as the supreme rulah!"

i have a hard time following his cadence, and unusual word choices...
he's interesting to listen to, but there is something about his rambling that reminds me of a schitzophrenic...not that i'm saying he was one. i half wonder if he was making all this up on the spot.

I thought the same thing! And yeah, he is interesting to listen to. He reminds of my sociology teacher in high school.

no one is supposed to understand any of this, but it doesnt mean scientology doesnt do any good.

And their clothes looked like our clothes
And their cars looked like our cars
and their trains looked like our trains
and their boats looked like our boats
Totally original storytelling right here.
