Yes , huge , Plutonium mod is highly optimized for better FPS , plus there are a lot more effects and it's using fluid fire for all various ground objects damage while Uranium mod was using only fire glow ;-)

Hey man, this mod looks great. Are this mods compatible with the Steam version of this game? I've heard Steam makes modding some games rather difficult.

It's adding the "little" things like more realistic impact bursts that really improve the feel of the game, I think, and this vid shows that this sim, at least, is getting closer and closer to realism.

I think it also illustrates another point: we associate the slo-mo of most genuine guncam vids with the real thing, so I wish more people who make simulator vids would run them slowed down and not in real time. Some do, and really adds something.

someone should add more planes to this game... i know theres planes to download but wheres a good sight with the most to download. i only want the best modeld planes ...and as many different as possible.. like more jets ect . i know lock on has mods but lock on sucks... i do like dcs black shark but thats heli's ( which i wish was like IL-1946 where we could fly as any heli ect with cockpits... i wish all were like IL1946

i got ROF the other day, and i realized something. I have, over the years, become accustom to il2 deflection, it is so easy i have gotten hits at planes ages away going at 500ks an hour perpendicular to me, blowing them up. I grew up with this flight sim ;)

Only IL-2 1946 version is supported ond fully moddable with special patch install , there was some very little support mostly experimental for older versions of IL-2 a long time ago but it's no longer available .

IL-2 1946 for just a few bucks these days you have nothing to lose and everything to gain as the mods alone are worth literally a million in new planes , effects and many other new additons like refueling and rearming availiability plus the development is also continuing officially under Team Daidalos :-)

4.07 version is the original DVD disk when you bought the game which needs to be patched as I desribed .

If you bought digital version of IL-2 1946 by downloading it , there is patch available for digital version like from " Steam " which is necessary to install .

I can't go through it all right here , you have to visit allaircraftarcade forum or SAS1946 forum or UltraPack forum and read all your questions , it's all there .

Yes, but the campaigns from 1946 explore an alternate history, where there is a ceasefire in 1943, and the Soviets invade german-occupied territory in 1945, equipped with jets like the yak-15 And MiG-9.

4.09m is the official unmodded game version isn't it ? you have to install HSFX or UP 2.0 ModPack over it in order to run latest game version with mods .

If you pick HSFX 4.1 version then you will have to create MODS folder inside your main IL-2 1946 folder , if you pick and install UP 2.0 , then you don't have to do anything , it have all pre-installed including Uranium effects mod option via JSGME mod selector ;-)

Uranium effects mod is included with UP 2.0 install and can be loaded via JSGME mod selector where it is pre-installed and fully compatible with other mods .

There is also choice to use two other reduced effects mods option EFFECTS_High and EFFECTS_Low .

the effects look great, I also used them, but when I turn on the smoke from PAT smoke mod il2 crashes, nut even when I don't put on the smoke but just change the smoke colour while the smoke is off the game crashes =(, is this normal?

it isn't the case with the also verry nice platinum effects mod.

PAT smoke & camera modder did edited class file in order to have working air show smokes effects and camera while

Uranium have edited the very same class file but for WWII combat effects as this simulator was never air show simulator.

While Uranium mod was at least made compatible with bomb bay door mod , it was never compatible with PAT smoke/camera mod as there was no will to add and fix class files entries . I am sorry , it's just the way it is . Platinum is old with bad jets engine smoke .

Yes , Uranium version have different better explosions effects , new additional Java class file coded aircraft damage smokes and interaction and many more reconfigured other effects pretty much covering almost all in-game effects .

Platinum version was great back then but much smaller mod and was missing a new interactive aircraft damage smokes ;-)

You see how the bullets in the Gun-Camera footage don't follow a straight path, but move in a snake like pattern... up and down.. almost like a curved path.. if you know what I mean.

Can this be simulated in the game as well?

You could add that last touch of realism to make it perfect.

That would be cool, but that effect is an artifact of the filming, not the tracer's actual path. The actual bullets and tracers are traveling in an as straight of a line that a bullet can. the snake like pattern is from the camera shaking/vibrating as it films. Would be a cool effect for the film makers in IL2

Hi Jokkersx ;-) Windows Movie Maker 2 with Windows XP nothing more to say L.O.L. It was just fun to create this video it's far from being perfect and it could have been much better with something like Adobe or Sony Vegas which I don't have at least not right now. I tried to cheat a little bit by not having to show many of the new effects but now realized that will have to do it so guys can compare if they have same effects with other mods in case of conflicts. Back to creating some quick video.

good question about music , the first short beginning music sound was used from one of the FarCry mods and the rest of the sound music was used from one of the Crysis mods L.O.L.

I had no idea what other music to use not to get this video bothered by youtube music copyrights requirements ;-)

Excellent to see you guys still working away. Pretty cool to try and have to pick out the real from Il2, nicely done. It looks like there are splendid effects coming along. Just wondering if it will be possible for you to mod the exterior of the aircraft so that bullet holes appear in the canopy with the damage they take, and secondly..will we ever see squiggly bullets for guncam effects? That was the way to tell real from Il2, but the water effects and bullets....well.....BRILLIANT! Cheers, MP.

One way or another there will be continuing work on brand new effects .

Bullets ricochet effect is separated mod , fully compatible with Uranium mod .

I am running both mods , bullets ricochet is not seen in this video because of blured gun camera effect is making it very hard to see ;-)

It's a new effects MOD for IL-2 1946 flying simulator .

Uranium Edition is update to replace previous older Platinum Edition Effects version .

It should be released latter today or tomorrow .
