@Nabou1 The 80s is a messy business. People blame Thatcher for closing the mines, but don't acknowledge that the mining business wouldn't be able to have paid them if they hadn't closed. I'm not too sure about privatisation but I heard that privatising British rail made it even more expensive, I'm assuming if the price hadn't increased it would've gone out of business?
