Just a few comments here. I have been on the web for 14 hrs straight today. Have been Journey Fan since the 70's. Have been through all of their member changes over the years. All day I've been listening to Journey and other Tribute Bands but have never heard one get so close as these guys. I have even walked in and out of the room with volume up. No, it's not Steve Perry and it's not Journey but WOW! Earlier I purchased Journey Tickets for 9/19/09. However, these guys are very good! WOW!

These guys are good. The band is excellent, the singer has a good range but I would never mistake him for Perry. Perry's unmistakable forte was the strength with which he hit the high sustained notes. This guy is weak on the high sustained notes. His voice cracks...not convinced he's a true "tenor altino" like Perry. None the less they are VERY good.

Better technique than Arnel?? Lmao .. this guy is indeed very very good but he's definitely not as good as Arnel, just the same as Arnel is not as good as Steve Perry. This guy has a similar tone to Perry but lacks his control, he doesn't hold the notes out as long, he's nowhere near as smooth and he tends to be a little pitchy hear and there. Of course Arnel is no Perry either but he's better overall than this guy. This guy is damn good though, much better than I can do.

If you really are a good and NATURAL singer, you don't have to have a lot techniques, coz it's a form of cheating in singing. Arnel's voice is so NATURAL and so POWERFUL that is why Neal Schon was blown away and have him in the band. NATURAL and SOULFULNESS is the key. Am sure Neal Schon came accross and saw this clip but how come he didn't even consider this singer? Because, he's lookin' for something "BETTER'...

I disagree... Arnel imitates as a regular bar singer does to get the job. Arnel's range is versatile which is awesome, but does NOT have technique which is the "key" of keeping your vocal chords SAFE, as they're his instrument and cannot be replaced anywhere. Arnel has struggle in many concerts (watch super bowl and you'll see) This guy doesn't use his throat, but his stomach to sing, and THAT actually is KNOWING how to sing. It is not a competition but a hobby. Take care

FYI, in singing, you don't use your throat, instead you get air through your stomach. Incase you ddn't know, Arnel is sick at that time so he breathes deeply. As you were saying about him imitating different singers, that is not a technique. Coz his voice has a NATURAL "ROCK" in it. So, he doesn't have a hard time cracking his voice. It comes out naturally. For a guy singing for over 25 years now, I think his vocal CORDS not CHORDS. is quite in shape and is safe. God bless..

i dont think so, what particular song or songs do you mean that pineda has problems with? i have the cd and been listening to the re-recorded ones, i don't see any high notes problems there and even sung the whole record in 2 days, according to neal schon, arnel is insane, he's the real deal! if he'd had, he wouldn't get thru the audition in the first place. so many singers have high pitch tones but you gotta see the big picture of his abilities on what he could do as a front man.

This is a great cover. The part that kinda ruins it for me is the drumming. This song was thought up on a bus, and started off as a drum part for the toms on a kit. With some little thought and how this song was created, I would think that their would be better drumming. The actual melody on the kit was more of keeping time, then keeping true to the song itself. The band was great, the drummer was poor. Sorry, but for this song, stay true to the foundation and don't make your own drum part.

Go Filipinos, he is awfully, perfectly good especially in concerts, in the CD his concert here in San Diego was sold out because a lot of Filipinos bought the tickets, even the expensive ones. Why insult Arnel? Arnel didn't just get selected by one of the greatest band ever. He was selected to audition. Take note HE AUDITIONED. And selected to be the the frontman of the band called JOURNEY. Check out his other songs and tell me if he is not that good.
