I owned an 03 350z with full bolt-ons and loved it. I now own an 08 sti and the difference in performance is ridiculous. The sti has the 350 beat hands down.
flodhi: i'm an a z lover and an sti lover(and owner). the z is fun but not practical and damn sure not faster stock vs stock. the stock motor on the z cant handle any serious bolt ons and you would spend a FORTUNE getting it anywhere on a real performance level. not to mention you are comparing apples to oranges! your comparing a 7 year old z to a 2 year old sti. you can get an 04 sti in the mid low teens if you look for one. so if you want to compare, than do so year for year

And my friend I think you are still missing the point 1) The Sti costs around 25-30 grand we already know that and a 350z costs around 15-20 grand. So you're paying a butt load of money to BUY THE STI first and than cheaply modding it while you're buying the 350z cheap and modding it expensively so it comes out to an even base. I bought my 2008 HR 350z with 10k miles for 17 grand. THERE IS ABOSULTELY NO DAMN way a 08 Sti will come less than 28-30 grand. And stock to Stock HR 350z would take it
