some people are just determined to hate robert pattinson because of twilight. i find that a bit silly, however, in this movie, especially as he played the more eccentric Dali, i forgot i was watching robert pattinson. and thats a success in itself.

Ha-ha-ha. Lousy casting and lousy biopic. In real life Pepin Bello was 1.67 m tall, Garcia Lorca 1.70 m, Dalí 1.72 m and Buñuel 1.77 m. Here happens the reverse, Buñuel character is the shorter one. The actor playing Dali seems more like Buñuel, and Dali never wore those corny shirts. Come on! A movie like this should have been directed by a Spaniard like Vicente Aranda etc. not by a Brit.

Do you notice that when he meets Lorca he doesn't take his eyes off him? When Lorca moves his head so does Salvador in parallel lines. Immediate connection. And Robert's smile is infectious. :) I never get tired of Salvador's trap! Lui knows immediately that this kid is looking for acceptance and says the absolute right thing. "Hiding all this brillance isn't neighborly." lol A perfect response to an egotist. . .

Not a girl Urik but Raphael(sp) I think. He wanted to be different but was scared to death. His mother loved him very much and she encouraged him in his weirdness. She died two years before of breast cancer and he was desolate. I think left to himself a lot with a very conservative father. So, he, at 18 is going to one of the most important schools in Spain. Hard to take in that Salvador was ever shy! lol He was only know later for his egotism as well as his art. I like this Salvador.

That outfit was one of the first that I saw on a video in here of Salvador's. Several are and I'm so impressed with the person that designed their clothes. They really researched it. Oh, the shirt wasn't as famboyant but close. I still itch to button that shirt! Sal is very observant which, I suppose, is the way artists are. He knows he has to go through Lui to get to the others. And the actor that plays F looks like the poet. The details in this movie are stunning. Superb acting.
