This take {148986-8} indeed featured Andy Secrest, as Bix never sounded that good at the time, due to his deteriorating alcoholic condition (you would have been able to identify him, because he was blowing his solos into a derby by then).
Although Bix was there at the recording sessions for 7 takes, he never made it to the 8th and final session, which was completed by Andy Secrest. It was really the end of the road for Bix, as he never returned to the Whiteman orchestra. This info was supplied by Tom Pletcher, foremost authority on Bix Beiderbecke.
