  • If you can't find proper gypsy jazz strings, the Martin Folk Marquis are a good substitute sold nearly everywhere.

  • I will be launching into some major teaching on this and other gypsy stuff starting in January 2012. Watch for it and check out the alternative web site for this....

    Cheers!

  • @imamnalog i use ernie ball and the sounds fits pretty good

  • For the gypsy sound [tone] the silvered-copper over steel core works best. Several brands out there including Argentine and Gali. I use Fersoma 47-11

  • Thanks a bunch for the video! Now I'll record the rhythm section and jam out solos on another track... An immensely helpful and easy lesson. I'll check out your other stuff as well.

  • @DoomishTrauma The Key is Aminor, use the Harmonic Minor Scale. You can throw in the A minor Pentatonic and E minor pentatonics ovre the Ami6 chord if that's all you know. Over the Dmi6 use the same scales minus the E minor Pentaontic. The formula for Harmonic Minor is 1 2 b3 4 5 b6 7. The Penatontic/blues formulas are: 1 b3 4 (b5) 5 b7.
