I'd like to really thank you for putting this on Youtube. When I was a teen this was like a personal theme tune to me. But then later, even tho' I could vividly remember the words I couldn't trace it anywhere and began to wonder if it was by the Ryans or someone else. The track conjures up a gorgeous feeling of warmth, a charmed existence, with all wonderful possibilities opening up in life ahead.
I choose " Born on a Beautiful Day " when I want to hear Paul sing a happy and witty song he composed and performed himself.
I love the mischievous lyrics and breezy and entertaining tune ... this " wink to Life " is like merry-go-round or circus music, listen carefully to the " whirling round and round " music pause, and once in the spotlights " the crazy game of Life " is on !
With ups and downs !
So, why not follow Paul's idea, when feeling blue, and smile at ourselves in the mirror ...
... even adding, for fun, " How do you do ", when starting a new day !
And his humorous song will then " turn into " a cheering up song !!!
I like this joyful title ... and its music ... both ... meaningful to me !
And, amusing and unexpected coincidence, there was last week on a French TV programme the interview of a shrewd and level-headed psychiatrist who's just published a book " Uncertain frames of mind, how to reach serenity ".
And at the end, he was just asked " this " question :
how come most of Barry Ryan songs have lower views then when you put them on the views are more ????

This immediately made me think of Paul's " Born on a Beautiful Day " song !
And I carefully listened to the answer which I give you :
1 - Take care of yourself
2 - Engage in action, serenely, calmly
Both optimistic messages, aren't they ?
And wasn't Paul definitely ahead of his time, without knowing, not only " musicall y, but also " cleverly " with this song written in 1972 ?
