  • Besides Lindros was a BIG BOY he could handle it.... LOLOLOLOL.. Yeah right....

  • To all you fucking douchebags that called it a dirty hit... listen very carefully to the announcer as he describes the hit "Shoulder to the Chin" assholes not elbow to the chin... Bunch of faggots...

  • It's crazy how differently they were talking about this compared to now. Even if it was legal, Scott Stevens had little to no respect for other players well-being

  • now, im all for hard hits on people with their heads down, but i have a problem with this. yes, he had his head down, that was very dumb. But stevens clearly had his elbow up right into his jaw. uncalled for. Im NOT looking for an arguement

  • @ucbearcat19 your right dirt was strong, he was captain of 3 cups but besides hits and fights the devils were lucky scott neidermeyer was there to be skillful enough to compensate for scotts laking in talent...can't hate on him for being a great physical leader ...he just has no actual hockey talent

  • @anjumfar1005 Stevens led the Devils in points one season. Get a clue, son. Only a fool would make your statement.

  • Back when hockey was still played by men.

  • Anyone saying this wasn't a shoulder to head hit is an idiot and just bitter. As a redwings fan, I can give an unbiased opinion on this, Lindros had his head down and got torn apart right there. You idiots are just so brainwashed by todays NHL which is so much differen't than the pre salary cap. His shoulder is clearly tucked in and he explodes through the hit, elbow coming out after the hit. Anyone who's actually played hockey, knows this is what happens after contact.

  • Stevens is absolutely dirt, but at the end of the day if you don't have any real skill to contribute might as well through your body around. A hit to the head of Lindros and I am sure he knew exactly what he was doing.

    GO WINGS!

  • @anjumfar1005 dirt with no real skill? Captained the devils to 3 stanley cup wins and is a hall of famer sir

  • Great hit, Scott! The NHL needs more players like you. Now it's a sissy league

  • For those who say that Lindros would have to stand tall, or that the NHL has become a real joke, remember one thing: the players, even in the '90s, had no protective Kevlar parts . Lindros was the first in a long line of players who have had concussions, Sidney Crosby being the last in the running. We must protect hockey players before becoming a real joke. Football has done something to protect those who make them live, why could not the NHL do the same?

  • Why are people still arguing over whether or not this hit is dirty? It's been a long time and its been deemed legal at the time from everyone in the league from the players to the officials. Get over it flyers fans, this was a clean hit. You would think lindros would have actually learned to keep his head up at some point after getting his ass knocked down so many times

  • @jmq428 Does the term cheap shot mean anything to you?

  • @pavyowns7 theres nothing cheap about it, lindros had his head down and stevens hit him, shoulder to head which was perfectly legal. its not stevens's fault lindros cant keep his head up, stevens was known for this, lindros should have known better

  • @jmq428 so are you saying you have the right to end a guys career because he has his head down?

  • @rugby88 yeah because that was totally stevens' intent - "zomg gonna end this guys' career right here". no, maybe lindros would have been able to keep playing if he wasnt being taken care of by an inept flyers medical staff

  • @jmq428 The point is how he wanted to at least use him as an example. Every player will have his head down once in a while no matter who you are. What I am saying is yea I want players to hit people to take them off the puck/out of the play, but there's a line that has to be drawn to ensure player safety. So when players intend to crush a guy because he has his head down, that's going to far.

  • @rugby88 i dont think stevens wanted to crush the guy because he had his head down, stevens simply lined him up and lindros had his head down

  • @jmq428 you must be blind and or retarded. I am a bipartisan Red Wings fan... that hit was ALL ELBOW. Completely illegal and a cheap shot

  • @hurricane125 it was all elbow? no you are retarded, this hit has been looked at by all league officials who have deemed it a legal shoulder hit. but im sure your dumbass knows more right?

  • lindros's head wasnt even down for once.. stevens was just a pussy cuz he could never win a fight and is an ounce of a player lindros was, so he pulled a cheapshot on his vulnerability.

  • Now thats a hockey hit. the NHL is a joke now. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP! It would take away many concussions if the players would keep their head up.

  • even though steve levy is a good commentator, chris cuthbert's call on this was alot better

  • Comment removed

  • I CANT BELIEVE A SCUMBAG HIT LIKE THAT CHANGED LINDROS FOREVER. SHOULDER?> YEAH OK ELBOW TO HEAD. 25 GAME SUSPENSION OR MORE TODAY. HEY STEVENS FUCK U FAG PRICK.

  • This is why i love scott stevens.

  • @MrFlyersfan1999 I commented earlier. you are sorta out of control, but as a Red Wings fan, this is one of the dirtiest hits ive ever seen. How can anyone even argue shoulder? He stuck out his elbow at the last second to hit him in the head.

  • wow headcontact...cheap shit

  • God this was epic. This was when the entire league was afraid of NJ. Stevens and the rest of the team represented NJ so perfectly. Tough and if you mess with Jersey you'll get your fucking ass knocked out. So true. (:

  • This would probably get Stevens suspended today since the principal point of contact is the head. But when you skate leading with your head and it's at shoulder height, what else are you going to hit?

  • @FoulOut138 um, just cause lindros is taller than stevens doesn't mean he should throw is arm out

  • IT WAS A LEGAL HIT! All you people who feel bad for Lindros shouldn't. Lindros deserved it for putting his head down while trying to weave through the devils defense. Scott Stevens is the all time greatest defensive player. I loved seeing him play at Continental Airlines Arena back in the day.

  • @xJDiNOx haha i can only imagine what would happen if scott stevens played today and threw his arm out like that on crosby or ovechkin, he might get kicked out of the league.

  • Growing up a penguin fan i HATED Eric Lindros... and at the time Stevens was the best big hitter in the game, the way the game was then this was completely legal and encouraged. Stevens was regarded as one of the best defenseman in the league. Watching this now though all these years later makes me sick. I feel terrible for lindros / flyers fans who had to watch such a talent have his career shortened by hits like this. So glad the nhl has made a move to get rid of hits like this.

  • @Ry2416 yes the league was alot different back then and it was more physical, more things allowed but as I watch this video again I have the same thought as at the time it happened, He extended his arm out deliberately followed through with his upper arm and elbow, there was elbowing penalties at the time, and it continues to be for me a dirty headhunting play, targeted at getting the best player off the ice.

  • @neonbible08 What a joke. Lindros collided with Stevens shoulder and got his head rotated. I guess you don't understand physics. This is at 1:04. Follow to 1:05 and 1:06 and you will see that Lindros has bounced off of Stevens and no contact was made with the elbow. even if a player extends the elbow and arm AFTER contact with the shoulder ti doesn't factor. I'ts the initial contact. You can be a hater if you like, but try not to LIE.

  • darren pang is an idiot, or he is blind. Scott Stevens was a dirty player, just like james harrison for the steelers is. this would have been a suspension, oh and how great have the shitty devils been since they cant play the trap, scott stevens couldnt play in todays nhl.

  • @neonbible08 scott stevens could easily step on the ice and play today. i see him at the gym every now and them lifting weights.

  • right now E.Lindros & John Leclair are on philly talk radio live 97.5 the fanatic philadelphia...goggle it

  • Wow are you sensitive pussies done crying? Stevens lead in with his shoulder as you can clearly see in the replay. Just look at it you blind fucks. Lindros ended his own fucking career by skating with puck into 3 defensemen with his head down. Most of you whining are cunts that started watching hockey post lock out.

  • @MentalEminence I'm a big Stevens fan, but you seriously have an anger issue... It's an unfortunate hit, I agree that Lindros had his head down, but I won't go as far as saying that hé asked to end his career.

  • @moreaujoey

Lindros got fucking wrecked by Kaspairatis in 98, 2 years later head down at the devils blue line with stevens patrolling lmao what a fool. Keep your head up is elementary shit. Im glad lindros got his career owned by HOF defenceman Scott Stevens! Loved seeing him motionless in filthadelphia! GO DEVILS GO!!!

  • @MentalEminence sure his head was down, but that doesn't mean that stevens's elbow had to go up. one of the dirtiest scumbags that has ever played the game.

  • @slappinggirls Yeah? How many elbowing penalties did he have in 22 seasons? Go ahead, look it up.

  • @slappinggirls At exactly 1:04 Lindros face hit Stevens shoulder. The hit was legal. Stevens always led with his shoulder. Lindros, with all of the hits he took, never learned to keep his head up. Stevens was a class act. The laegue mises him. You are nothign but an ASS to make a comment like that.

  • @bbmtge i wonder what you would have said if a flyer skated across and did that to elias.and i think you need to study anatomy to figure out where the shoulder is located. he knew lindros was concussion prone, just coming back and it was intentional to knock him out. Clear dirty play. check out the other videos when they actually fought man to man and lindros decked that little cheapshot

  • @neonbible08 It's obvious that you cannot rid yourselkf of some odd emotional string and deal with the facts of the situation. As stated, if you review the video, Lindros has his head strike Stevens shoulder and it is rotated to his left. Thus, the hit was purely LEGIT. Lindros is 6'5". Though Stevens has been listed at 6'2" and 6'1", I know people who have met him and they dont think he was even 6" tall. The point is that, for Lindros face to be on Stevens shoulder shows that not only was his..

  • @bbmtge this is why he threw his arm in the air, even with lindros's head being down he still could reach his head legally, if you can't see his arm going up, if you think that is a pure legal shoulder hit, You are blind.

  • @neonbible08 couldnt*

  • @neonbible08 As stated, Lindors face hits Stevens shoulder.and he bounces off. The arm extension occurs AFTER the shoulder hit. I cant help it if you are so emotionally investedin this that you are making things up. It's simple physics and reviewing the video. Suggest you read about logic ibstead of being nothing more than a "fan".

  • @neonbible08 ...head down, he was actually bending at the waist. Your attempt at pity on Lindros due to concussions and that, as a result, all players should not make legit hits on him, again, is an odd emotionla string that flies in the face of logic. Stevens is a HOF, 3 Cups, playoff MVP and one of the great defenseman. Flyers with Lindfros could never get a Cup...Clarke hated the guy for his underacheiving in the playoffs.

  • @bbmtge he could have won 10 cups 10 mvps, it doesnt matter, lindros was a better player, for many years the best single player in the game..concussions ruined the end of his career, don't give me scott stevens was a better player than lindros. Devils won because of brodeur, give the flyers late 90s teams brodeur and they multiple cups as well.

  • @neonbible08 win multiple cups*

  • @neonbible08 Now you cant even stay on subject. You are such a fool that you cant handle facts. #1...one player was a defenseman the other was a forward. The goal in the NHL is to get the Cup. Lindros was NEVER the best player in the league because he could not deliver in the playoffs. Stevens could deliver and Lindrois could not. Keep dancing like a fool. It is quite entertaining.

  • @bbmtge being a fan has nothing to do with it, im not the only one who thinks it was dirty, and the arm extension happens to reach his head, not after. I believe i was responding to what you said, let me quote you "Hof, 3 cups, best blah blah" as evidence that this was a good play, which it was not, it was dirty. How people forget, for a couple years lindros was the most dominating player in the game. It's a lot easier to deliver when you have the best goalie of all time behind you isn't it.

  • @neonbible08 My friemd, you are not only blind, you are now making things up to support your prejudice. At 1:04 Lindros face strikes Stevens shoulder. Lindros bounces off and goes down. The arm has nothing to do with it. Funny how you cant point out the time in the video that supports your argument as, again, you dont want to understand the physics involved. Further, funny how you reduce a SC yo "blah, blah, blah". With that, you clearly show your foolishness because you have no logical answer.

  • @neonbible08 Philly mortgaged it's future on Lindros. This had nothing to do with regualr season play. They surrounded him with talent and he could not deliver a SC. That's what they got him for. By the way, Quebec/Colorado got the better of the deal and won SC's as a result. You can make all the excuses you want but you have been unable to counter the facts of the situation because...you simly cannot.

  • @MentalEminence you're also saying you enjoy watching somebody get seriously injured.....stay classless, new jersey.

  • Blatant,textbook,elbow.....plain and simple

  • Stevens is an idiot. I am no fan of Lindros but Stevens is the biggest cheap artist the league ever saw. If I was playing he would be leaving the arena in an ambulance. I can't believe the Flyers didn't kill have the Devil team.

  • @TRISEVIC Lol that's terribly funny. Scott Stevens was never a cheap player. If you can't take a hit, get the fuck out of the NHL pussy.

  • tthat wasnt a shoulder

  • @TheEpisodeCinema are you high? look at the slow motion, it tells all

  • anyone who thinks stevens is cheap just look at all the shit lindros has done... i never saw stevens crosscheck guys in the face

  • Pfff ! Baby.

  • Scott Stevens was a goon.He new what he was doing.

  • one of lindros' only flaws, kept head down alot

  • sad that stevens destroyd many players careaer : (

  • Lol after every hit, he juss stands there and like waits for them to blow the whistle cause they're injured

  • Too bad that dumbass couldn't keep his head up. Thumbs up Stevens

  • Bettman said only one of Stevens' hits would be considered illegal, it was on HOCKEY NIGHT LIVE on MSG in NY, he never specified which hit was illegal

  • That would be a 10-15 games suspension today in the Swedish "Elitserien".

  • In this time it was a legal hit, today stevens would be suspended. He did hit the head, regardless of lindros' angle and body position. I have been a caps fan for years, I remember watching lindros and chris simon going at it, lindros isn't a weak little push over. He had a bad habit of losing awareness with the puck and this is evidence, but he was a good hockey player and tougher than people give him.

  • @28stupidboy8 shanaban :(

  • @28stupidboy8 Too bad this hit was shown as being a legal hit in a video explaining what hits would be legal and illegal in the league today. Nice try hater

  • I hate Philly as much as the next guy, but this is a dirty, dirty hit.

  • @tleskk Too bad even the league said it was legal hater

  • Scott stevens is the chuck norris of hockey

  • dirtbag, horrible hit

  • Lindros classic glass jaw

  • Toughest fucking defenseman that ever played the game. You can't argue with 3 Stanley Cups.

  • @joechill1 3 Stanley Cups, and a badass [but clean] reputation.

  • @joechill1 Can't argue with 3 Cups or a Hall Of Fame Induction! Hardcore Devils & Stevens fan to the bone...

  • clean hit

  • @lilfogs8 r u kidding thats a headshot

  • @jamesdallimore Do you have Sand in your vag??

  • looks like his head hit the ice too, so really its 2 horrible hits to the head

  • I don't care if he led with his shoulder or not. It's a hit to the head and Stevens has always been a dirty bastard.

In today's game he would have been reprimanded, and rightfully so. He ended the career of a great player.

  • Comment removed

  • @kamino77 yea, he would have been reprimanded today because now the NHL is just a giant pussy show. this was a great hit. it's not stevens' fault that lindros never learned from his mistakes and kept looking down at the puck, oblivious to whatever's around him. he did that his entire career. i'm surprised he didn't have 30 concussions, because he should have.

  • Shanaban. Zero. Keep your head up, boy.

  • Comment removed

  • @CarolinaPanthers1124 ESPN Announcers would say that, they don't know shit about hockey.

  • @CarpfaceRoblox Riiight. But this isn't an argument over hockey. It's an argument over the difference between a shoulder and a fucking elbow. Basic human anatomy.

  • @falantepelosmortos Ok, so hockey isn't even in the subject, when it's a hockey video.....But with my own eyes, I see more elbow and shoulder if you pause it at 0:13 you'll see Steven's shoulder into Lindros's head.

  • @CarpfaceRoblox That's a terrible angle and too fast moving to see much of anything. There's a reason they explain, at length and WHILE SHOWING THE VIDEO PROOF, that the fan's first impression is mistaken, and upon inspection it is in fact a shoulder. Apparently they should have gone on for a bit longer.

  • @falantepelosmortos Regardless if it really was his shoulder or elbow, he still went out of his way to intentionally attempt to hurt Lindros. Don't deny it, because you know it's true

  • loved watching stevens knock around guys silly back then. now theyre trying to take hitting out of the game.

  • Scott Stevens is way over rated. Someone shoulda slashed this cheap shot artist across the throat and let him bleed out on the ice. i woulda payed to see that.

  • Comment removed

  • Straight up elbowing, and yes, Lindros should have kept his head up, but that's still head hunting by Stevens and if that exact same hit happened in the NHL today under Shanny, whether the player had his head down or not, there would be at least a 10-game suspension, rightfully so.

David Steckel would have been suspended for a long time if the new rules had been in place last year. Cooke on Savard wasn't enough. The NHL had to wait for their brightest star to go down to change the rules. Sad.

  • @ivand87a haha. what are you talking about. steckel's hit on crosby was a collision. you idiot. there would have been no suspension.

  • @ivand87a You're comment is completely true. But if there is someone who deserved this, it's Lindros

  • headhunter

  • keep your head u fucking douche no skilled motherfucker

  • As a Flyers fan, Lindros never won us a Cup. I consider him a good player, but not great. I knew a guy who met Stevens a couple of years ago, and first thing he asked him why he did this, and Stevens just laughed. I really have no respect for him.

  • @CarpfaceRoblox Why did he hit a hockey player skating head down towards the net he was defending? Because that's what he was paid to do. Duh.

  • @falantepelosmortos A. Stevens went out of his way to put a hit on Lindros. B. He led with his elbow into Lindros's head. In conclusion, cheap shot.

  • @CarpfaceRoblox No duh he went out of his way to hit him. Lindros was the puck carrier headed towards the net. I'd hit him, too, if I were on the ice. And it's called a shoulder, not an elbow. The refs, the announcers, the guy who got hit, they all agree. Only Flyers fans who let their bias cloud their judgment seem to disagree. Lindros got hit at the black striping, a "shoulder right to the jaw".

  • @CarpfaceRoblox In conclusion, Lindros wasn't looking at the play, and apparently neither are you.

  • @falantepelosmortos I pretty much summed the play up, you had no comeback other than the fact that Lindros never had his head up, which I already know that. Come back when you have a real argument.

  • @CarpfaceRoblox Like the fact that Flyers fans apparently think Scott Stevens has an elbow growing out of the top of his arm?

  • @CarpfaceRoblox Come back when you didn't flunk anatomy.

  • @falantepelosmortos Why would I care about that worthless subject, It's not necessary for every day life. So I don't waste my time on that, unlike you. Smart ass

  • Comment removed

  • This hit was a prelude to New Jersey winning the Cup and Stevens winning the Conn Smythe trophy. Stevens had to have been the hardest open ice hitter ever and had under a hand full of elbowing penalties in his entire career.

  • This wasn't so much a hit as Lindros skating full speed into Stevens' shoulder. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP, SON!

  • Hey 88big... Lindros himself said it was a clean hit. So shut up and go back to playing women's field hockey. Or make love to Lindros. One or the other... But just shut up cause you obviously don't know anything about hockey hits. FYI, it is possible to take someone out with a clean hit. And that's what this was, a pure clean hard hit. Stevens obviously owned Lindros in the physical department just because of this amazing hit!!

  • Buddy, back then the hits were much more cleaner and unintentional like they are today. More players careers today are in jeopardy, and there is ALOT of worse, intentional, garbage, cheap hits than Stevens. The intent to hurt someone is extremely greater nowadays than back then. If you are familiar with Stevens hits, they are clean hard hits. This was a shoulder, not an elbow. There is no rule saying you cant hit someone with their head down. A rule should be to have your head UP.

  • @emipxo10 Dirtier hits than Stevens'?Stevens' blindsided hits into the unsuspecting players' heads easily match any other dirty hits.Stevens didn't know how else to make a hit.He didn't have a confidence to hit shoulder to shoulder, body on body.Just a coward. He was able to hit Lindros only once during their rivalry with this vicious crap.He couldn't match Lindros physically. It's well-documented.Obviously,that idiotic hard plastic pad on Stevens' elbow made him feel safe to make that hit.

  • Lindros was asking for it.....cant have your head down in the nhl for more than 2 seconds or else your done

  • @emipxo10 Two seconds?Good luck.Garbage like that from Stevens is being taken out of the game,so that such vicious hits intended to jeopardize the player's career will be the thing of the past.

  • Its funny that for a guy so skilled he could never keep his head up. He would never have been on the level of a Mario or Gretzky because of that alone

  • Stevens is a 3 time Stanley Cup winner a Hall Of Famer - an impact player who made his team better & was vital in them becoming champions.... this is why he is recognized as great..... & that is why he is in the HHOF.... Lindros will be remembered for his time of being humiliated by The Red Wings in the Stanley Cup....

  • @ogrebattle22763 Really?Very few people remember the details.Maybe the limo accident is remembered more....

  • @88BigEtrain Clean sweep.

There's one detail I remember, you punk bitch.

  • @mustbeburtreynolds I'm afraid, there's more than one detail.Unfortunately for you, your hatred won't allow you to find out what they are....

  • @hayleybogdan You have to be out of your goddamn mind to say that that was a clean hit and wasn't premeditated to finish Lindros' career. You don't know anything about the background of that hit.Obviously,NHL has lost a credibility so many times and has held a double standard so many times before that it shouldn't be a surprise that it allowed such hits and now it goes hard after them.

  • I think in today's NHL, it would still be a clean hit, because Lindros should've had his head up. Scott Stevens: Greatest Hitter of All-Time!

  • @bodeyc Not even close. The hit is one of the dirtiest, most blatant and vicious pieces of shit hits ever seen. The intent to injure Lindros or,more precisely,to finish his career can't be more obvious.Calling him the best hitter of all time is truly laughable. That guy could hit only unsuspecting players, target their head and he didn't give a damn whether that meant the end of the career of such a player.Otherwise he was afraid to hit.

  • Canada would finish fourth after losing their semi-final match-up against the Czech Republic in a shootout.[2][4][67] Stevens would be part of Canada's orientation camp for the 2002 Games,[68] but he would not make the final roster.[69]

  • The butthurt from Flyers fans is still delicious, a decade later.

  • Scottie representing. Karma sucks huh.

  • @ForDoverUSA Yeah, karma bit that asshole Stevens in the ass.A concussion got him.Not that I'm happy about it at all.I had respected him a lot until that garbage on my player. And it's cool that he's in HHOF.

  • "gets him with the shoulder" bull shit that has elbow all over it

  • @jjbrun17 Are you blind? The elbow came up AFTER the hit, that's called physics.

  • @mustbeburtreynolds That's an interesting law of physics.I do understand though that, just like ex-goaltender Pang and others who would be too embarrassed to admit that shit like that doesn't belong in the game, you don't want to see anything but shoulder. But even if Stevens had used his shoulder( and fucked it up after the hit),it would've been the same kind of garbage from the coward.

  • This is why Don Cherry always says 'DONT CUT ALONG THE BLUELINE WITH YOUR HEAD DOWN!" Good clean hit too. One thing about Scott Stevens, he ALWAYS hit clean, and NEVER hit dirty. I dont think ive ever seen Stevens hit dirty.

  • Getting exactly what he deserved. Nothing but payback for all the disgustingly dirty shit he did throughout his career.

The best part is, Stevens nailed him with a clean one, at least by pre-lockout standards.

  • @mustbeburtreynolds Ah,you're full of it,dude. You really are.You mean like what shit-Nordiques?Thanks to God,he didn't end up there. The greatest times-when he had played for the Flyers.A perfect fit.Lindros=Flyers,Flyers=Lindros.Forever.He dominated in 90s,legally unstoppable, and everybody knew it.Then that piece of shit Stevens pulled his garbage off and ruined my player's career.Fortunately, the NHL woke up and started,at least in some way,to go after such crap.It has no place in the game.

  • @88BigEtrain Hahahahahaha you're fucking delusional.

The Stevens hit was fucking Windex compared to the shit Lindros used to pull. He regularly elbowed other players' heads into the boards. That was a routine hit for Lindros.

Stevens cut across at about an 80 degree angle and put his shoulder directly into dumbass Lindros' head, which happened to be staring at the ice. It's his own fault his career was cut short.

p.s. No one cares about your Lindros=Flyers Hallmark story, fuck off.

  • @mustbeburtreynolds One of the most outrageous comments I've heard in my lifetime, pal.Good job. That piece of shit Stevens was the only player that has in his highlight reel of best hits all in the head of unsuspecting players. All the greatest hitters in history didn't need to target the head, because they knew how to hit hard and respect the other players. What is Stevens remembered the most for?-not the Cups but his garbage hits.He has nothing on Lindros in hitting.Nothing.

  • @88BigEtrain lol no one cares. The only fact you need to consider is that Stevens laid a huge clean hit on Lindros, which effectively ended his career.

    Owned.

  • @mustbeburtreynolds No one cares, you say?Speak for yourself, will you? What the fact is,is that piece of shit Stevens let the frustration, which had gathered over the years by being owned by Lindros in any match-up between the two, release with this fucking garbage and,the only part you're right on,ruin Lindros' career, which was his sole purpose to begin with.I almost wanted to feel sorry for Stevens in that he was left with nothing else to stop Lindros.Nothing.

  • @88BigEtrain Why are you trying to turn this into some dramatic Lifetime movie?

What aspect of this hit makes you think it had anything to do with this alleged "frustration" Stevens had?

Lindros had his head down, and Stevens fucking nailed him. That's all there is to it. He wasn't trying to injure him - he kept his elbow tucked, he hit him shoulder to jaw, he didn't jump, he didn't charge - there isn't a single dirty aspect to this hit.

Easily one of the best hits in NHL history.

  • @mustbeburtreynolds What aspect? It's really simple.Stevens' elbow, greatly supported by a sturdy and hard plastic pad, wanted to rip Lindros' head off, which is more than clear from the right angles.Their rivalry on the ice was one of the greatest and best known.Stevens was the one on the receiving end.Always.Documented.He knew that Lindros had barely gotten into his physical shape returning from a concussion. That asshole knew that another concussion would put Lindros' career in jeopardy.

  • @88BigEtrain Dude you're fucking blind. This hit is shoulder to jaw, nothing else. Stevens' elbow doesn't even come close to Lindros' head. You just have a huge boner for Lindros so you're completely fucking biased.

  • @mustbeburtreynolds Yeah, sure,Stevens kept his arm stationary, and then somehow the elbow went up right nto Lindros' head.Dude, think about what's physically possible and easier in such a situation. If you protect your face against a blow or an object and raise your arm,an elbow goes first. That's how a body mechanism works.Instinctively.On top of all that,When you go after somebody's head, you intend to injure that player. That piece of shit didn't know how to hit otherwise.

  • @88BigEtrain You completely lack the ability to think clearly or objectively.

If this were Steve Ott on Peter Forsberg for example, you would understand that it's a perfectly clean check caused by the guy who tried to cut across the blue line with his head in the clouds. But no, since it's your butt buddy Lindros getting devastated by a player you clearly don't like, you completely fail at seeing what happened. Just go away, you'll never see the reality in this situation.

  • @88BigEtrain No sorry buddy.... the only asshole here was Lindros for thinking he could skate through the Devils blue line with his fucking head down... So nice try but your bullshit won't wash......

  • @ogrebattle22763 Hmm,take a really hard look-Hadn't Lindros been hooked by one player and his skate clipped by the other thus losing his balance, the E-train would've steamed through all the way to Brodeur. It's pretty easy to see.Asshole Stevens went out of his position across from along the left boards, where his business was and decided to rip Lindros' head off. That pathetic coward succeeded.

  • @88BigEtrain Went out of his POSITION? LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA - you are a total retard.... do me a favor keep your mouth shut please... better yet don't do it for me DO IT FOR YOURSELF PLEASE.... you are an absolute clown.... take this ridiculous I LOVE LINDROS CRUSADE OF YOURS & just go find some other channel or video to worship your hero on... I have heard enough stupid shit from you to last a life time..... I'll be back in November to shove it up your ass again...

  • @ogrebattle22763 You have a bad case of blindness, dude.Obviously,Stevens didn't face Lindros face to face during the hit.In case that you have a hard time to recognize players in the play, the one not being out of his position is Niedermeyer.Stevens came across, meaning leaving his left side along the boards.Pretty easy to see.Knock off your without substance comments, give respect where respect is due and you won't hear from me.There are haters who at least do some thinking and give him credit.

  • @88BigEtrain ----- 88BigETrain.... LOLOLOLOLOLOL.... lmao!!!!!!!!! Awwwwwwww poor baby that Stevens hurt my hero...... he gave my hero a BOO BOO.... lololololololol.... Moron..... this is comical.....

  • @ogrebattle22763 You're actually able to be comical! This is great!

  • @88BigEtrain Yes biting my words & phrases are you... lolol... idiot...

  • @ogrebattle22763 Yep,no work for me.

  • @88BigEtrain Well thats what you in fact do... cry & whine about your "HERO" being picked on & skating around with a bullseye on his back & how players would single him out & go after him.... How he perfected the art of hitting... LMAO..... Now THAT was what I call COMICAL buddy.... Tell me if he was so tough & rugged why couldn't he take the punishment he certainly liked to dish it out but when the favor was returned he would spend his time down on the ice not able to get up.... lmao... Comical

  • @ogrebattle22763 Hmm.You really don't know? How about because hit in the head isn't the same as in any other body part. You're on your way downhill, man.Big time.

  • @88BigEtrain No sorry you don't KNOW.... : ) On my way downhill? LOLOLOL... How about your not on your way downhill - YOUR GONE - So get lost & take your Lindros Teddy Bear with you.... lolololololol... : )

  • @ogrebattle22763 Like I said,you're done.....Read your most recent comments.No substance,just a little kid talk.

  • @88BigEtrain Yes your right Im imitating the lilttle kid with the stupid comments YOU....LMAO.... LOLOLOLOL... No Substance no nothing just Imitating your little kid BOO HOO HOO comments about Lindros being picked on & skating around with a bullseye on his back & players going after him & Blah Blah Blah & Boo Hoo Hoo.... Cry me a river... Little kid....

  • @ogrebattle22763 Irritating?Not at all.Just silly.

  • @88BigEtrain Silly & stupid is what your comments are dude... I bet your holding your Lindros Teddy right now aren't you... Lmao....

  • @ogrebattle22763 I don't want to lower my comments to your comments' level, because I look for substance on not just hockey topic, but any topic. So I just shook my head and moved on to comments that make sense.

  • @88BigEtrain u mad cuz the flyers are bad. it was a clean hit suck it up. maybe next time lindros will keep his head up instead of watching the puck go sailing into the corner

  • @NJDevilsF4N Man,I haven't been Flyers fan since 2001.Yep,when Lindros left Philly for good.Again, maybe for thousandth times,I say that the "head up" argument just doesn't work.Every player in the world has his head up as he carries the puck. The list would be extremely long. It's a matter of whether somebody decides to nail that forward or not.I guarantee you that had it been some second rate, unimportant player,Stevens wouldn't have pulled that garbage off.No doubt about that.

  • @88BigEtrain Are you serious? If you watch the fucking video you'll see him watch the puck sail into the corner. And there's no way Stevens could have stopped moving that quickly since he only started to look at the puck a second before getting hit. You're basically saying that players that have their head down are exempt from getting hit. And Stevens was doing his job taking care of the attacking player. He would have hit any other person the same way. Grow the hell up and learn the game.

  • @NJDevilsF4N You completely lost me.What I see as obvious is,and I've said it zillion times-that piece of shit Stevens had only one intention-to,at least, end Lindros' play-offs,if not his career with this piece of garbage, which is thankfully fading out of the game.Lindros was evidently becoming his old self, and a difference maker in the series. He was hooked, his left skate was clipped, and he lost his balance, which was a perfect scenario for Stevens to pull off his garbage.Any other player? Please!

  • @88BigEtrain OWNED???????????? LOLOLOLOLOL..... really is that a fact.... well gee lets do the math here shall we MORON.... Stevens is a 3 time Stanley Cup winner all of which he played a vital role in winning.... Stevens has made that hit time &a
