  • Sodium silicate can be added to the surface of a cylinder, the the piece can be stretched revealing a crackular texture.

  • Porcelain slip is brushed on a cylinder, then torched. After the cylinder and slip become slightly leather hard, the cylinder is stretched and the slip begins to crackle.
