  • i got my first laptop a couple mounths ago i was like no scratches!!!!!

    and then wellBOOM

  • @witeksworld Almost my first year with my mac unibody and it has a hole! A deep scrath

  • In retrospect it was a silly material for Apple to use in terms of durability. It is white and made of plastic, not really a surprise. I wish they would just completely stop the use of white poly-carbonate plastics in their products.

  • so dissappoint too - it's my 1st laptop and i want it to take care as much as i can , you know scratch free - I even went to applestore to contest my side but no luck - can't imagine paying that price that only lead me to a nonsense scratch , i don't even know where it came from ...

  • Keep it in the original box and never take the fucker out or it scratches up

  • use pvc cleaner and they come off haa

  • it's a piece of shit sir

  • I just got a macbook today and there were lots of black scratches on it before I even started to use it.. and they are impossible to remove. I would rather have a better surface than having it "fancy looking".

  • it is true that the macbook white unibody's surface can get scratches easily.. even though how much you take care of it.. how gently you wipe it.. it still would get scratches! and damn i hate it. wish i just bought the pro! but the iphone 4 is my priority right now.

  • Man you are fucking stupid...

  • couldn't you just use a silicone case?

  • the aluminum one is better

  • you cant see em on my macbbook pro they show up loads

  • Get an invisible shield and put it on the minute you pull your MacBook out of it's box.

  • Omg I have the white one and I also have scratches lots of them and I dont even bring It out. I have the noisy part at the side. My brother has the black one. You can see scratches but he lets the dog walk on it :/. He also has the creaky part. A bit chiped off about the size as a thick pin. All I am saying is that its not really compact and when eva your opening it up it really creaky

  • revanbafin i keep it like that to

  • I just purchased my Macbook from Apple and I am definitely having no problems keeping it clean. I love how shiny and new and pretty it looks. Plus, I have a puppy and he loves to jump on pretty much anything that I have so I think the only way to keep your Macbook from getting dirty to wipe it down after extensive use. Hopefully, I won't have that many scratches in the long run, but also, keep it stored when you are not using it so dust doesn't collect and it won't have a chance to fall.

  • i love my white mac book its great but hard to keep clean ps got it two days ago

  • just use a mr clean magic eraser, I use it dry to clean the screen, and damp it a little for the rest

  • WTF DUDE?? the black is more resistant wtf??? the black is matte, so it can get scratched easier and it will show even more...anyway, i love my white one more than my black...white is the apple colour!! :D ^^

  • i think what he means is (applys to everything to) that darker coulers absord less light which makes it better for hiding some of its scratches. definatly dousnt help that its matte though. i got my first mac recently and love its desighn but hate the plastic that was used to make it. I should of waited a couple months for the aluminum one but oh well :D

  • scratches all over mine i even got some on the screen i dont know how the screen managed to survive those but lol scratches nor finger prints piss me off anymore =)

  • does it have

    bluethoot

  • dude you are being anal man. its a freaking laptop...its ment to get some damage..u should se mine..i bet you'd cry if it was yours.

  • I sold it anyway so I don't bother about it anymore...

  • @balinmar did you not notice that it said REQUESTED so HE"S not being anal but someone else is

and some people just want to keep in good condition but i see where your coming from

  • black or white?

  • What do you mean?

  • That's nothing compared to mine. Mine is covered on scratches, but you have to look at it in some ight to see it. The bottom is another story :)

  • I just got my first mac 20 days ago, macbook white. I was going crazy for an apple computer and it is turning out to be a big disappointment. You sort of expect something from another world in all aspects more than design and a fine OS. After all, it is apple and it is expensive right? well, the case is detaching (see posted videos about cracking, too) also the fan is very noisy. It feels so delicate, almost very weak. I did not have any with my former Dell laptop. Shoud have gotten XPS m1330...

  • yeah, you should have... then we wouldnt have you on this video moaning right now...do the research b4 u buy something fucktard, and stop dissing the world's best invention...APPLE!!

  • The white one is much nicer!!!

  • i got a rubber case for my macbook of apples site.

  • mine has so many scratches at the bottom.

  • my macbook too... ;D

  • they have nice clear plastic cases for macbooks that keep scratches off. my friend has one and it works well.

  • I have a black Macbook and it's also full of scratches. You can just buff them out with some sort of polisher.

  • i hate scratches on mine...at the beggining eeveryone trys to keep it very clean but sooner or later shit is gonna happen haha but ohh well they are still beautiful...or cover them up with some nice stickers lol

  • Hehe when i get mine its going to have no scratches I'll try and keep it so safe. lol

  • Yeah, I also tried that but sooner or later you will get some scratches, but if you are careful you will keep the number and strength of scratches low. For example I always put my macbook on my bag now so it won't get any further scratches at the bottom.

Anyway, I don't even care anymore you will get used to it and then you can live very well with a few scratches.

Good luck and have fun with your macbook :-)

  • ok type

    &fmt=18

in the url and you can clearly see the scratches

    and they look bad.

    :p

thanks im getting this in two days cant wait!

  • you mean the plastic on the macbook scratches???? no way!!!

  • So what is your experience?

  • i dont see a thing!

  • I'm sorry you can hardly see them because of the low YouTube quality and the bad lighting. But the scratches are not so bad. I don't know what you expect to see. I just wanted to show that one has to be very careful with the white macbook .

  • there really just marks. Same wit mine but not on the top, only around the keyboard...u cant see them unless its in the light so it doesn't bug me.

  • mine got 3 tiny scratches the first day i took it outside... I think i might get the protective casing

  • yeah, I also thaught about that. It is too bad, that the surface is so sensitive. It is the same with the ipods. The back looks so nice but gets scratches that easily. So I bought a hard case for my ipod touch. Now I don't have to worry anymore;-)

  • With pleasure. So I had a reason to do a video;-)

I just started to make videos a few days ago but I will make more of them...reviews and stuff.

Maybe you stop by sometimes again.

  • it is really not that bad...and plus the black one is more prone to paint chipping and finger prints

  • Yes, it is not that bad, I never said that. But if had known that before I would have taken the black one. I thought it might be helpful to inform about that fact. I got used to it so I don't bother anymore.

On the white one you also can see finger prints, but it always depends on lighting.

Yeah, the paint chipping, might be a bg minus, but I don't know if it is really a general issue or just bad luck.

Anyway, I hope you do a good decision for yourself. Propably there is no right or wrong.

  • The white one looks better, cheaper, and the only difference inside the notebook is the Hard drive. The black has 250gb and the white has 160gb. For me 160gb is plenty. for some people it may not be enough. It all comes down to what I will use it for...

  • Allright, thats a good analysis.

The price is in deed too high for just a bigger hdd and black color. I have 120 gb and its enough for me.

Because you gave it a thought I think you will be happy with your macbook.

  • Maybe you to tell me, which one you 've taken.

  • I have made my final decision now I have to go get it at the store but they said they may not get any until next week so I am just waiting til they get it but yeah I WILL get the 2.4ghz 160gb one that is white. This will be good for making iMovies and other basic stuff. If I were using final cut and motion than I would get the macbook pro but right now I have no use for it

  • Good decision. I am sorry for you that you must wait. Prejoy is the best joy ;-)

I am sure that the macbook would even handle final cut very well. A friend of mine has it and it runs like butter.

  • Awesome and thank you for taking the time to show your scratches. I did not expect you to make one right away.

  • The scratches are hard to see because of the low YouTube quality. I hope you get my point.

btw: sorry for my english, I'm from Germany and I don't speak english everyday ;-)
