Do the Corsa tips do anything then just detail the exhaust exit?

Not really. Exhaust tips do have some impact on exhaust sound depending on various factors; but in this case, it's relatively minor and most wouldn't even notice.

Not sure, it was actually left-over from the Corsa Sport Cat-Back system I previously had. Didn't see any reason to go back to the stock tip!
You can normally find them on eBay though.
