  • been there, crying elf, HOME

  • Oh myyyy if I was in that audience I would've been screaming "LEGEND OF ZELDA!!!!!!"

  • Matt smith is my hero, love him!

  • give me that fone

  • Ohh man!!! LOVE IT!!!!!

    ***

  • What is up with Graham's suit?

  • No Bowtie!!!!

  • I just LOVE the way he says cool;P

he MAKES the word cool, cool <3

  • I like fans that dress up...fans that dress up are cool XD

  • He needs to get trousers that fit his leg length

  • the fuck has kane done to his hair?

  • This woman is a fucking bitch.

  • @PhantomBolt why is that?

  • I love Russell Kane's little geekgasm impression! He's so sweet!

  • ....zelda???

  • How dare he be in a tie . . .

  • It's fucking Zelda you PHILISTINE

  • @doctorcropcircles No its Link, Zelda is the princess if you are going to be picky about something when the person who is wrong is obviously not a gamer or a geek, please get it right. Especially when its one of the most well know games of any generation.

  • @doctorcropcircles Except the Elfish person dressed up in Green is LINK not Zelda.

Zelda is the princess you have to save, Link is the character that you actually play...

So, lets not bandy around words like philistine when you're not even right yourself...

  • @assassinscreed1503

Hes brillant as the Doctor. Superb laid back nonchalent air about his performance. Far less irritable than Tennant and more charismatic than Eccles. If Davies had stayed we would have ended up with Russell Tovey (George the Werewolf in Being Human) which would not have worked at all imho.

  • Hey, has any of you heard that the ponds are leaving in the next series of doctor who? I'm going to miss them so much, the show won't be the same without them.

  • @doctorwhogirl28 It'll be far far better.

I honestly can't wait for them to get rid of the stupid soap opera in space rubbish that's occured recently.

Get rid of the Ponds, get rid of River Song, bring back the Daleks.

    Sorted.

  • @MrRWJP EVIL!!!

  • @doctorwhogirl28 ...... you know, you could also say that it hasn't been the same since Susan left, but, well, you probably don't know who that is, do you?

  • LINK. IT'S LINK. OH MY GOD

  • i NERDGASM'd over Matt smith ... I love him.

  • Im very shocked to see the negative comments about Gillian's interview, i understand what their about but iv been a big Xfiles and Gillian fan from the beginning and iv seen a lot of interviews and heard a lot about her, and believe me she is definitely not bitchy or arrogant, the opposite in fact and people hav said she is one of the nicest stars. And very generous to her fans as well. I think if you hav only seen 1 or 2 inerviews by her i understand you may not know a lot about her ways maybe

  • So Link is a X files'fan?!

  • "top comic Russell Kane"?

  • It's not a green elf, it's Link.

  • its called a nerdgasm... mainstream pircks :Pp

  • The ledgend of zelda?

  • I like how the comments on this video are pretty much all saying what I was gonna say.

    It's a NERDGASM!!!!!

    Seriously :)

  • HOW did they not know it was Link -.- Zelda ftw

  • It's a nergasm, again ill-informed mainstream press trying to report on cults.

  • Nerdgasm get it right! (:

  • What the hell?! Gillian Anderson comes across as a real cow here.

  • @JSYBen

Not at all - she just distances herself from some of the saddo's who go to hese conventions. How else should she refer to a guy crying while dressed up as an elf thing as he talks to her and her costar?

  • @ffmarkm These are the people who are her fans, the people who bought X-Files DVDs. The people who paid for her house most likely. Ok she doesn't have to like them, but at the same time she doesn't have to talk about them as if they're scum or a lower form of species from her, which she clearly does here. They are human beings. Take Matt Smith. I imagine he is freaked out by some of the people at ComicCon, but he talks about them so nicely and treats them with respect. She doesn't even try.

  • @ffmarkm Hmm - when they are paying for the DVDs etc., from which she profits, I'm not sure that it's fair to slag them off. More importantly, she's being unneccessarily cruel. I'm sure I'd be freaked out by elf-costume-wearing obsessives, but I'd express my feelings in private, not on a chatshow that said obsessive fans are probably watching.

  • Why is graham nortons suit so shiny :L

  • matt smith = geekgasm

  • It's called a nerdgasm you cunts.

  • @FISHGOMOO4321 U MAD

  • It's nerdgasm

  • @harris0n5 or a fangasm :)

  • Nerdgasm

  • awh matt smith is so cool.

    "who is that?!"

  • Blimey, The Doctor's obviously still holding a grudge after Dodo naffed off half way through The War Machines.

  • 2:32 THATS DODO MATT! One of the 1st Doctor's companions!

  • gillian looks really skinny. i like how hee personality changes as well as her accent. from stiff upper lip british to giggly outgoing american. oh gillian.

  • I had a bit of a geekgasm too, Scully and Doctor Who...

  • I have always liked Gillian Anderson.

  • I love Russell Kane for knowing the term 'geekgasm'! XD

  • I think you'll find it's called a Nerdgasm...

  • I dont know why so many people are so invested in her being a nice person. she's clearly bitchy and snobby and arrogant. but i dont really care...if she wasnt such a good actress, i wouldnt see her and scully as completely separate entities, and comments like this would probably taint the show for me.

  • Matt Smith wears some sexy socks

  • @forrestgumpper yes he does ;)

  • I'm a bit uncomfortable with this show, it's so often laughing someone or something down, it just doesn't feel very nice in general :/ (I know, nobody forces me to watch it etcetc, I come because of the guests and then I'm more like "...Uhm...")

  • It's nerdgasm, damnit. Geekgasm just doesn't have the same ring to it, now does it.

  • @007toft007 your ma's a nob

  • Is she on about Link?

  • @sevenpoundnote I think so, yes, that was my guess too.

  • @sevenpoundnote I think so, yes, that was my guess too.

  • only the legend of zelda geeks would cry on stage!

  • When you've had to deal with as many overly obsessive fans as Gillian has had to deal with for about 20yrs I'm sure you'd be a little exasperated too. I am one of those overly obsessive fans and let me tell you, we do make her feel uncomfortable but you just can't help yourself. Her fans will know that she always has a faux pas moment in an interview and that comment happens to be this one. I'm not going to hold it against her, and neither should you, she's a human being. Trust me she's lovely

  • Why go to a convention in America Matt???

Why don't you go to the MCM Expo here in England???

    WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY?!?!

  • Green Elf Costume..........Link Maybe...

Also isn't it a 'Nerdgasm', or am I just weird?

  • @aearlez I always thought it was Nerdgasm too... sounds a bit better.

  • She's British ??

    and a BLONDE ?

    *gasp* Geekgasm!

  • @pauseTV Intresting fact she's actually american and a natural red-head. She did the x files for 9 years and she then moved over here full time. Since then she's done british thearte, period dramas and britsh films. They've all required a britsh accent and seen as she's been over here for a while she's now has a brtish twang to her accent:)

  • @PuckleberryFuinn86 There is no such thing as a British accent.

  • @Purdonnnnn1873 Bitch please you know what im on about. You must have a really boring life to pick fault with a little thing about my comment.

  • @PuckleberryFuinn86 I didn't know what you were on about, I thought you believed there was such thing as a British accent. And I didn't know taking 2 minutes to respond to you was such a long period of time.

  • @Purdonnnnn1873 Its not hard to find out what my comment was on about. BTW it took you and hour to reply.

  • @PuckleberryFuinn86 Not forgetting from the age of 2-11yrs old she lived in London, so for her childhood years, she probably learnt to talk with an English accent first.

  • @wakeup685 Ah yep she did.

  • 2:33 "Who is that"... That, Matt, would be Dodo Chaplet. Or maybe Susan.

  • @KingLofiOne Yep, definately Dodo. Don't know how Matt didn't know that, I thought he was a Whovian!

  • I don't recall Skully having that accent...do you?

  • Sounds like the dude at Comicon was dressed as Link for The Legend of Zelda

  • @MissSAS123 I thought so too.

  • Russell Kane is so funny haha

  • what's with her hair?

  • Thank heavens this is hidden away on the internet where nerds will never see it and get overly-defensive.

  • LOL. AWESOME. I organized the group of Doctors (I was Hartnell) and it made our con! Matt and Karen were so cool with us. Our Tom Baker sadly missed the moment by a few minutes because he had to find his wife. BTW the girl on the end is Dodo Chaplet, a companion in the Hartnell era. We have a photoshoppped pic with the 4th Doctor though to complete this as he's my fav Doctor (and the one I usually costume as). Fun interview!

  • is she really british? and wow does she look too skinny. ~worries~

  • Gillian's lucky to even HAVE a career, much less fans. She was BLESSED having that role, and here she comes making fun of a fan who was moved to crying by meeting her at her ONE TIME at Comic Con.... Real classy.

Matt on the other hand is LOVELY and GRATEFUL!

  • @hustonhuddleston You clearly don't know ANYTHING about her.

  • @btvs87 Here's what I do know: She was a short, chubby NY stage actress who "didn't want to do TV" because she thought it "beneath her" until Chris Carter convinced her to do the TV show, and now she's an overpaid, over lauded cow who thinks it's really funny to make fun of her fans. I think I know enough

  • @hustonhuddleston Here's what I know: The first part might be true (except for the chubby part and the "beneath her" part. What's wrong with not wanting to do TV. God knows TV in 1992 was not what it is today!), but you're waaay wrong on the second part. Like I said on my other comment, don't talk if you don't know, I wasn't disrespectful so I don't want others to be. You clearly don't know. I'm not saying what she did was okay, but all the rest you've said is completly wrong.

  • @btvs87 If you're so much of an a Gillian lover as you profess, you'd know that she and Carter have stated on numerous occasions that she did not want to be on a TV show (instead of being honored and grateful as any NORMAL person would be) and she was indeed chubby (as can be seen by her stage photos) and bitchy (as numerous people who've met her can testify) and arrogant (as her phony British accent will tell you) Any more questions class?

  • Comment removed

  • @hustonhuddleston I had written another reply, but then I realized that I'm just "feeding" you. I'm done replying to you, you're arrogant with the way you write and then have the nerve to call others arrogant. You have your facts all mixed up and I'm not going to waste my time with a troll who has too much free time. Do your homework.

  • @btvs87 I really wanted to start off by pointing out the difference between chubby and pregnant and go from there...but then like you I thought, why feed the monster! lol

  • Gillian Anderson

thumbs up of you like her

  • Matt Smith

thumbs up if you like him

  • Do people realize that Gillian Anderson was one of the most influential women on television for approximately 10 years? We wouldn't even have shows like Fringe with strong female characters if it weren't for actors like her who busted down the conventional "female roles" wall. Having Matt Smith and Gillian Anderson on the same show is a ridiculous amount of lovely <3

  • Gah!! A Link cosplayer!! Wicked! While watching this video though, i kept shouting "Link, Link, Link, Link, Link... (etc.)" at my computer screen. ^_^

  • When did Gillian Anderson get an english accent?

  • @dreamer98 she is british

  • Man, this guy dressed as Zelda must be really proud of himself 'cause Gillian herself keeps saying she has a terrible memory yet she always remembers him/her (as she said once, 'cause she didn't remember the person's gender lol).

  • @abbyLK dressed as zelda? you do realise that zelda is a princess, link is the main character

  • It cannot be...Dr Who and Scully in one room....this is too cool, even cooler than bowties ;P

  • i had a geekgasm myself watching this video!

  • Sounds like a Link costume.

  • It wasn't an elf, it was obviously a zelda costume

  • been there, crying elf, HOME

on another note, <3 matt smith

  • Oh god. I just DIED. I would probably be the weirdo bursting out into tears if I saw those two sitting on the sofa next to each other...

  • omg I wish I went to comic con :(

  • I have to watch this episode and get a geekgasm....twice!

  • Also, everyone having a go at Gillian, look into other interviews, she's a bit, shall we say sheltered. She has said that she rarely watches TV. I've met her twice and she was so kind to my friend who looked like she was about to explode with excitement. She more than likely just doesn't understand conventions.

  • @purpledreams92 Oh my God hey Becki. I was unbelievably excited wasn't I? (assuming you meant me haha) Sometimes all I remember is running round in circles and screaming before she came out. I hate all this Gillian hate from people who don't understand her awkward nature. The two times we met her she was so generous with her time, especially the first time when we weren't even meant to be waiting for her round the back. Maybe she had had a bad day that day? She does look more tense than usual.

  • @florencelovme 1. Mark isn't her husband he's her long term boyfriend. 2. Her american accent is her fake accent which she's admitted several times, she grew up in London. 3. Your accent can change after a long time, I grew up in New York, moved to England and my accent changed but naturally change accents whenever I visit family in America.

  • Matt at Xmas. On the Graham Norton Show. AGAIN!

  • I've heard both geekgasm and nerdgasm used before...

  • It's a nerdgasm, Kane, get your facts right!

  • BTW, both actors look very sexy together

  • Gillian always tell this story a bit different whenever people ask her about an odd experience with fans and etc. She got wrong because it wasnt the elf person who cried but another odd women in the audience. The funny thing is that even the other fans who were in attendence were shocked by the lady crying. I guess she mixes on propouse in order not to identify who the person is...and is like her fun story to tell LOL... Love her.

  • Holy crap! It's agent Sculley and the Doctor on the same sofa! *nerdgasm*

(Geekgasm? Really? Where's he been, myspace?! XD)

  • Whatever ¬¬

Gillian is the best... beautiful and talented!!

  • 2:20 Hahah, that's the youngest First Doctor I ever seen, damn. :P

  • great stuff! I didn't know Gillian was British...

  • @KARENK72886 or has an affected accent??

  • @KARENK72886 Well she spent part of her childhood in London, so she says that's why she uses that accent in England, and american accent when she is in the U.S. or Canada. I love her, but that IS a little weird. Actors must all be eccentric in one way or another, I guess.

  • @magnumcornetto tis odd, but thanks for the explanation...I guess she's an actor after all, not said in any bad sense too. She rocks!

  • I love Matt for simply sticking to the fact that he rather likes it and think it's cool in spite of her attitude!

  • I feel that if you don't follow Gillian Anderson's career or how she is/was with fans or what she did during The X Files' run, then you shouldn't bash her because of one stupid comment. Thanks!

  • @btvs87 I do follow her career and I quite enjoy her work, but this one story was a bit abrasive and offensive to some. Perhaps she didn't mean it to be but it was...It's not really bashing her if you point out that it was kind of tasteless. Still, there are people who do bash her and that's kind of ridiculous. We've all put our foot in our mouths at one time or other.

  • @ravenradams Yeah, I didn't really liked it. She told this story a bunch of times, not always this way, so if you really follow her you should be used to it by now, she's always asked this question. She's incredibly kind with her fans and everyone says she's one of the nicest celebs around. She spend 90s at XF conventions. To be honest, there are lots of people who think the same but pretend not to, at least (if she really feels that way which I doubt) she's honest.

  • *the 90s

  • @btvs87 Ah, I see. I follow her work not her interviews. I rarely watched celebrity interviews until the last couple of years now that these shows are put on the internet so fast and so easily.

  • *nerdgasm *comicon

  • Matt looked really uncomfortable when that woman was talking! He didn't want to bitch about the fans

  • @cheesemangall 'That woman'? You just made me feel old.... lol

Matt Smith is lovely but he's been around about 10mins, Gillian Anderson is a real cultural icon!

Also, I realise you don't know who she is...so I'm not having a go, just wanted to say she has a reputation for being AMAZING with fans and always has used her profile to campaign and do fantastic charity work. I think she finds the 'geekgasm' adoration a bit overwhelming sometimes & that might have just come across the wrong way! :-)

  • @kate22uk I re-read my comment and you're right, I was quite ignorant! After googling I do know who she is haha didn't reconise her without the read hair and I apolagise for my ignorance, I do still feel however that she was rude about someone who was clearly a fan and I feel that is wrong, especially since they're the ones who keep her career healthy, though like you said I don't know a lot about her so it may be a misjudgment.

  • @cheesemangall Red*

  • @cheesemangall You can't be expected to know who everyone is ;-)

Yeah possibly misjudged, would hate to think anyone's feelings would be hurt, but unintentional so. She's very private & think even after all these years she still doesn't get why people find her a big deal, someone dressed like that reacting so emotionally just for asking a question would totally baffle her! lol

I'm a loyal fan so I'm very bias...but she has such loyal fans for a reason and she really is a lovely person :-)

  • @cheesemangall that woman? LOL I can't believe I'm reading this..

  • It's so two-faced of some celebs to go to places like ComicCon and then come away and say how weird it was and hint at how stupid they thought all the fans seemed.

Matt Smith and Karen Gillan, however, get it. They're both fantastic sports and don't look down on fans as weirdos. GO MAZZA'N'KAZZA! (as I believe they're known in some circles) ;)

  • @thedoctorwho07 She was at WonderCon in 2008 promoting The X Files movie, she never went to these things and it was like a special occasion. I don't like what she said on this video, but I'm not going to judge her either because she has done great things for XF fans which were also were for charity. Sometimes she can be really clueless about things, like she didn't even know what LOST was! (not that it matters anyway)

  • I'm getting a strange vibe that sci-fi fans are being ridiculed a bit in this video .-.

  • @8pongping I feel the say way, I like Gillian, but she got that story totally wrong :/

  • @8pongping Yeah the default with most seems to be "Sci-fi fans - weirdos". Gillian Anderson seems like a nice person but the way she falls for this ridiculous stereotype is so stupid - annoyingly, Alex Kingston seems to have fallen for the cliche of the 'nerdy fan' as well.

  • @thedoctorwho07 Well, some encounters are really strange and surreal. I'd tell stories too. The difference is in the tone. Whenever Alex talks about her fan encounters, I never get a feeling of disdain from her. It feels more like fascination for something that she has never done, so she doesn't quite understand it. I can understand that. And she often qualifies her stories with comments about how lovely the fans are and such. Gillian's comments just feel like complete condescension and mockery.

  • @ravenradams That's true, actually, yeah. Alex is nice about it, whereas Gillian just seems disdainful about fans.

  • The Legend of Zelda, obviously!

  • CANT WAIT!

  • @florencelovme So the fact that the british accent was her original accent when she learned to speak makes it the fake one?

    Smart way of thinking.

  • @karlsantos how big of a moron are you. youre comparing 11 years of british versus 26plus years of u.s speech. get some common sense you MORON.
