I've SEEN this Chen Lei guy play for the Tang Dynasty band years before during a trip to China! I didn't know he can sing! I think that listening to this as objectively as possible, musically speaking, the vocals are quite superb metal rock vocals. Feels right and sounds right. but i know some Asian American friends whose parents are from Hong Kong and Taiwan who are a bit self conscious about the language they were brought up with at home, and it seems they can't accept Chinese metal/prog music

Chen Lei has tremendous speed which is good.. and clear notes... but I suggest he should apply some variations and creativity...not bounded just by scales...maybe add some soul, orthodox style to it, etc

Asians always play Jem's because alot of them are massively influenced by Steve Vai and others because its a Japanese guitar its easy to get them over there and they are obviously cheaper. And seemings thats Ibanez's popular Virtuoso or Shred guitar.
