  • What are the specs on this cam? and is there a compression you need to achieve to run this cam?

  • @Hysjulien69

    Comp Cams 12-604-4

  • @Hysjulien69 9.5 to 1 compression needed for it to run right and here is the specs

Valve Setting: Intake - Hyd, Exhaust - Hyd

RPM Operating Range: 2500 to 6200

    Cam Grind Number: 299THR7

    Duration Advertised: Intake - 299, Exhaust - 319

    Duration @ .050'': Intake - 243, Exhaust - 257

    Valve Lift: Intake - .531, Exhaust - .517

    Lobe Sep. Angle: 107°

  • It's running too fat. WOT A/F shoot for about 12.5 or so. Losing power at 11.?

  • What kind of intake?

  • @80v8camaro

    Air gap intake

  • what fuel are you runnin when you dynoed this?

  • @CAJohnson92

    Pump Gas 90 Octane.

  • @cncmotorsports sweet, thanks! i was afraid you were havin to run alcohol to pull those kinda numbers

  • A 2900 rpm spread between peak torque and hp. You just don't see that kind of powerband in most naturally aspirated engines. Huge power everywhere!

  • Man, even at 6,500 it sounds like it wants to keep going.

  • @jdubcbr600 id take her on up to about 7,250!

  • IF you go with alum. heads make sure you try to push for a whole point of compression over what youd use with a steel head. AFRs are nice but no different than a cheaper head bought and ported by someone who knows what they are doing...

  • @Srussk09 but when you dont have a good machine shop around for miles it can be cheaper to just buy the better head then drive to the closest shop for me anyone decent is a 2 hour drive away so thats about 120 miles at 10 mpg in my truck that ends up 100 dollars in gas to drop them off and 100 more to pick them up and the better part of 2 days waisted

  • Why the hell would you waster your money on those heads? For one you should set your compression to the head material type so I hope you know what your doing. Aluminum does offer a good bit of weight reduction but it also disapates too much heat and you lose power.

  • 483 ft pds of torque at 3100 NICE! Nice flat torque curve all the way through to. I think I will get this cam for my street strip 383 Iroc. Prob go with some AFR 195s though.
