every now and then, for reasons unknown to the rest of us, some random person is born into that secret club that's been around as long as music. you're one.
This is brilliant. I would love to know what tuning you are using and how you leart this. I can't fida a tab that sounds anything like the original. Your version sounds spot on. Thanks for sharing the magic of Willie McTell
i watched all your videos and was almost brought to tears, you play and sing so beautifully. im in love with the blues and you do so well a tribute for it. i would love if you played some Lightnin Hopkins
Do you have any way to find out where your playing live? Or do you play live? I'd love to see a show. Just wondering if there's a facebook page or something that gives info for gigs and schedules.
man your cool, god i wish my girlfriend was into blind willie mctell then i wouldnt have to put up if whatever she listens to, and man if she could play statesboro blues like you i would propose to her.
I just found this song recently and your version. It took a tear from my eye but then I could close them and just drift away. Thank you so very much and keep playing and singing.
Im an 18 year old guy from England, randomly discovered the blues through Nirvana's performance of 'where did you sleep last night' performed famously by Ledbelly... I've found a music that I love, and this makes me feel a lot.
1. Is that a resonator I see? 2. You play this very well and your technique is great. 3(critique). It seemed like you were just kind of played this song, you didn't have much soul in it. Not a terrible thing just something to work on.
ill bet you practiced that laugh it was adorable everthing you put into this damned magneto is priceless wish i could say i knew you more than the little bit you let on
I really enjoy your playing and singing. It makes me happy seeing someone doing justice to a Blind Willie McTell song and I hear something special in your playing. Please keep it up. Eugene Huggins.
You smiled once, when you had that one itty bitty flub. You have a very nice smile. You could use that more often. lol Great singing and playing. U go girl!
I love how you kept this take, even with the botch at 2:05. Makes it classic! Great job on Crow Jane, too. I showed that one to my ten-year-old daughter.
@shittybangbang321 Hey Mr Tybangbang321, or may I call you Shit? You are talking out of your ass and your ass don't know nothing. This woman is a musician not some lame-ass (doncha just love American cussin'?) entertainer looking at dots. She hears; she plays. Simples!
Keep the faith, miss, you are the real deal. If you ever come to the UK I can get you some nice little gigs where you'll get the respect you deserve. Come in the summer and we'll do some festivals...
Christine, I think you have untapped glory in that voice, but everything you do just sounds great. There's almost something incongruous about your voice and some of these songs, yet it works. It's like you shape the voice to the songs more than the songs to the voice. The very best it works in the ones I listened to is Richland Woman Blues which you make your own. These are just opinions I'd take into a record store with me. But i'd definitely buy.
Amazing.....gotta hear you do Blind Willie's Searching The Desert For Blues aka Lord Send Me An Angel Down aka Talking To You Mama (sames tunes different keys n lyrics).....thanks for the videos
Your playing and singing are wonderful. This is a very moving and soulful homage to Blind Willie McTell. I hope to hear more of your music--on CD or live in concert!
Very beautiful rendition. Love your vocals. I especially liked how you smiled thru your little mistake and just keep going not missing a beat. Thanks for sharing.
Gorgeous version of one of my favourite songs, and the one which introduced me to the blues. Nice to see I'm not the only young woman who loves the old blues :D
It makes me so happy to hear another young person with a solid interest in this great american music. You play it proper...Keep picking girl, dont let it this music fade away!
A very nice relaxed style but a lot of work has been done to get such an authentic country blues picking style. And then there's a natural gift in your voice. The gift is a beautiful sound that people will pay money to hear. Keep a-goin' sweetness.
