It's not Serbian, but Church Slavic wich has been common for all the orthodox slavs. Bulgarian language is the most similar to it. And Serbian sounds quite similar too. But Ukranian is not close to Serbian because it belongs to the Est branch of the slavonic languages but Serbian is the language of the South branch. Ukrainian is quite close to Russian, because Russian, Ukranian and Belorussian have the one root-language wich is Old Russian (IX-XIV centuries).
