  • The 1st dune game has something about it i have never been able to describe, its something very profound whatever it is.

  • this is good sex music

  • @jogu78 haha yeah in 1985

  • I have this album on CD. It's very hard to find nowday.

  • This one coming from me to you baby - I mean my child - well, that's my woman too - this is your boy talking - it's your own man - call me a grown fan - I gotta whip you into the man you gotta be - hellfire coming down around everyone maybe - treaty holders got violations no one say they free - Ragnorak it may be maybe - but don't trust a spirit - terror let the surrender be a mighty war then... it's what it's meant to me... "Born Nothing" your pain is insignificant - that's right - caring says

  • Sounds a tad like Art of Noise at times.

  • I was 13 years old when I played this game. I've never experienced any piece of media touch me quite as profoundly.

  • Very nice, sounds kind of like it could be on the soundtrack of a 80s Michael Mann movie.

  • There should be one video where you have samples of Stéphane Picq's music. He's a great composer like Phillip Glass.

  • for anyone into the music. composer bart klepka created a tune (doomed-on- dune) has a cool version of dune(death of the duke). it is combined with the theme from the game doom. can be found on the videogame website fileplanet. found under game soundtracks. just follow the chart below.

    Home / General / Media / Music / Game Related / Other/ Doomed-On-Dune

  • Bit weird to use Paul's image here instead of Chani but oh well. :D

  • A bit odd that music from a game could give me goosebumps, but it does.

  • @tfal23

Oh yeah! After more than 20 years I still recall all the feelings I had when riding the worm through the desert on the search for the sietchs. :-)

  • @MOCoutinho

Game was released in '92, so not 20 years yet, but soon. :]

  • @Kagonic

Hey my son, I am 98 years old and so that mistake is forgivable. :-)

    Kidding, not that old!

  • @MOCoutinho You must mine the spice or the emperor will recall you from Dune! btw im ur father

  • @tfal23 it´s not only a game (Metal Gear is better than a lot of movies) it´s an old-ass game

  • @tfal23 so true. this soundtrack gives me goosebumbs too!

  • @tfal23 so true. this soundtrack gives me goosebumbs too!

  • @tfal23 I guess for games - the composers are really passionate, and get to make music that enhances gameplay and captures emotion, and freedom to experiment with the music is different situations. Unlike the mainstream music, where tunes are just made to hit the top 40.

  • I'm glad I am like Chani to someone... :)

  • Damn, I just downloaded the old game from abandonware but there is no audio, and it's the audio that addicted me to it in the first place.

Must be a full copy somwhere..

    Awesome clip idea, thanks!

  • @halatha you need sound emulation for this old audio hardware. have you used DosBox? if not, google for it.

  • Ahh no, the copy I had was a cut down version, I ended up getting a proper copy. I was already running it in dosbox ;)

even hearing it now in the youtube video above, I feel like it's 20 years ago.. what a crazy feeling..

  • ah, alright :-) yeah, old addictions often run deep... ;)

  • @halatha

You probably got the full version, however you must run it in DOS Box.

  • Such a great soundtrack

  • Amazing. My favourite from the soundtrack!

  • Fantastic.... I love this game and this soundtrack.

  • Great soundtrack!

  • One of the best soundtracks from a game ever!
