  • Thank you Bartje!

  • @alienalienss I heard Ashkenazy play live in Utrecht, Holland, the Wanderer Fantasy by Schubert. WOW, I have never heard such playing ever since. From that day on Ashkenazy was my hero. (+ all of his brilliant Rachmaninov, Prokoviev recordings). Very few pianists have the stamina, endurance, power and technique like Vladimir. He can play chords like they are consisting of melodies, not fillers.........

  • @alienalienss and i like ashkenazy as a pianist (not a person, cuz i heard hes rich and mean) ....but this recording isnt that bad

  • @Axotrotl Take it with a grain of salt. Most of it is slander, jealousy and envy.

  • @alienalienss OK I agree with that. Ashkenazy's recordings suffer sometimes because of that and piano's out of tune. But he has such a forceful touch that its impossible for tuners to keep up with him.

  • what an awesome pianist he was in his young days.............. I treasure his cycle of the Beethoven Sonata. This Brahms is musically and technically top drawer. thanks for posting this................... :)

  • One of our finest variations for 2-hands pianoforte!

    One of our finest compositiore!
