It matters if they are fully loaded and if your referring to 3000 rms (real wattage). At fully loaded in a proper box they can handle around 2000-5000 rms a piece (going with steve meade). Lol, it all matters on a lot of variables. Add some deatails..

I already have a Hifonics 3000 watt Goliath amp(3000 watts at 1 ohm), so I need another amp for the other sub.I want to run 8kW for the whole setup. 6kW for the bass, 2kW for the mids/his.All for this is going into an 05 Mitsu. Lancer ES. Woulld I get 1 ohm sub fully-loaded, daily option? What are the dimensions of the box? Thank you.

Hey man I don't actually own BTL's so I don't know the exact box specs. On the Fi Audio site they have box specs though, and yea if your going to be running them @ 1 ohm on the amps, go with the 1 ohm fully loaded. (you probably already know this) but your going to have to do the big 3 upgrade and definatley get a HO Alternator, i'm not sure of the exact amp draw from those amps, but it can be calculated. If you need the formulas look up Ohms law, you can message me if you got questions.

hifonics is overrated your prob only getting 1500 watts with those amps. but anyway get the dvc 2 wire in parallel. i know that an 18 inch needs about 6.8 cubes of box is perfect. and the perfect box for a 15 would be around 4.5-4.8 cubes. 12? i have no idea lol

Just so you know... the True Meaning of RMS is not Real Wattage...

its Root Mean Square OR commonly known as Average. So the RMS (Aka Running wattage, Or used by this bloke is Real wattage) is really just what is recommended for the average power going to the sub..

I was saying the recommended wattage is what you look for when looking into an amp, many people go by the marketed peak power ratings posted all over and don't look into the specifications on the amps and or subs. I'm not the type of person to argue online and will admit when I am wrong, what I said may of been a little misleading. goliath is rated at 5kw @1ohm 14.4v and it was an actual impedance of .7, voltage probably dropping to 12.5-13 the way i had the elctrical here, a whole lot better now

ive ran into some good deals on a few things of them, the amp was bought under employee accommodations at my shop, wire was from my other build, never really bought too much stuff at one time for this build

If it is sealed, then 13 cubic feet is WAY too large. Think closer between 6-8ft^3 for a sealed box for the 18" Qs

hey nice setup u got, but what does ur electrical consitst of, and do u have the dual 1 or 2 ohm subs, do u have the subs fully loaded, cuz that amp does not seem like its at full power, if u have anew battery or 2, new ALT, new big three u should be getting full power, and i hope u have the dual 1 ohm subs and the amp at 1ohm so u get the full 5000 watts from the amp

im not a HUGE fam of hifonics.. ever since they got bought up by maxxsonics their quality declined.. the BTL's are some of the highest quallity subs you can get, but for those looking at the goliath or collususs amp, not the best quality, sundown audio is great.. get 2 15" btls's w/ 2 sundow saz-3000 and you got a deadly combo!
