@dominicksblood It's called In Time by Robbie Robb, but this is an altered version for the movie, you can find and listen to it on the official Bill and Ted fansite, billandted(dot)org In the section titled "The Music".
At one time Jesus was just a guy with weird ideas about the world, Einstein was just a guy with this weird theory about energy, and Gandhi was just a guy who wanted to buck the system. Anyone can change the world, so be excellent to each other and party on dudes!
one of the best movies I can remember growing up with next to karate kid and Legend...those movies rocked! Bill and Ted will forever be great...there is an amazing solo at the beginning of this video at 0:07-0:37 truly amazing part... .. .
we should do what we can to get this message passed on to our next generation be excellent to each other is very important message but it is no more then a modernization of the golden rule. however hardly anybody elaborates on the second part of this very important message "party on dudes" this is just live life to fullest extent possible dont let time rule your life your life should rule time
Every time I feel angry at the world or worried about the future, I just watch this video, and I feel totally reassured and filled with hope. In time, everything will be alright.
Ok, I get that there's some hate going on here, but isn't it going completely against the message of this video? "Be excellent to each other, party on dudes". Try to put aside all gripes and differences and remember that we are all human beings. Nobody's right or wrong, we all have different opinions, but that shouldn't hinder anyone else from commenting and enjoying life as it is, it's too short for that. Sorry to sound preachy but that's the truth.
I wished they kept the future looking like this in Bogus Journey. The foam outfits and big shoes they had them wearing in that movie were fugly. 20 years later this scene still looks beautiful and magical.
You can"t notice it on Youtube because of the quality but if you look in the booth at 2:55 you can clearly see two dummies instead of real people. I don't really know why im posting this, probably just because I thought it was interesting or something.
I really like this guitar riff they play before "in Time." I was hoping it was part of the soundtrack. the song sounds better in the movie than on the soundtrack!
I am not exaggerating at all when I say the song in this scene is one of, if not the, most amazing power ballads i have ever heard. It's a shame this song isn't more well known.
@Scotty7617 I agree, however I'm glad it's not more well-known, look what happened to songs like "Don't Stop Believing" re-done and re-done, re-released and re-released until the world is sickened. This one is only for the select few, the excellent, the bodacious, and the most f*cking triumphant!! Like us!!
My idea of a perfect society. Taking everything that was cool about the 80s and deciding it makes more sense to work and play together in peace than scrabble for money and hate each other.
@BatmanEnvy not to sound too harsh, but go die in a fire, Tom needs a good fucking punch to drag his sorry ass bk to earth, A&A wer a bag of shit, he thinks he is some musical messiah and he really isnt, +44 wasnt to bad, nothin on blink but never exected that, A&A was just painful cos of Toms arogant rambling abt changing music n doin his messiah act. So no, we dont love you Tom, we love blink n hence hav to put up with ur shit
@kakashitrapnell That wasn't too harsh. I'll go find a fire, and die in it because I think Tom Delonge is a cool dude. That seems reasonable. Or we could all just enjoy this radical video.
@beauforthigh33 No problem, thanks for being so moved. It is amazing when you think about it: we could all just as easily be doing the heil hitler or playing air guitar-it all comes down to those real people and real moments. Personally, I'd take two good hearted guys who just want to have fun any day.
Good news everybody, Bill and Ted may have another movie. Keanu Reeves mentioned in an interview with MTV News that the writers are at least six weeks away from a draft script. Feel free to copy and paste this on every Bill and Ted video here on Youtube.
we stopped dreaming of a better world when the kids came and jobs came and we cut our hair and pay started to matter and omg i need gas to make it to work and a pack of smokes just to get through my breaks..... we lost the abilty when life happened and thats why this is so special it was created by those who didnt forget and tried to reinspire a generation to grab a torch and set the world on fire with it before its to late.....rant off..
@Brikrender So ok. I cut my hair short and yeah I have a job now. But dammit I refuse to live just to survive another day. Whether It's learning to play guitar even if I may be too old already, saving and old lady from a drunk guy in front of my granma's house or waiting for one of my students to gather the courage to speak instead of failing him immediately just because the guy's shy. Or maybe it's about writing silly post on the interet so that others may see some folks still have hope.
@YosheeTK Soooo sorry folks. Got carried away a little. This film, especially this part of it, this music, always make me feel like this. Um well... Be excellent to each other. And party on dudes:D
@Brikrender Agreed if we keep your attitude we still have a chance to build more then we inherited. I think the most important thing is we need to start believing that it's possible again.
@angrydead haha get real, the world is torn by terminal illness, starvation, war, overpopulation, outsourcing poverty, economic depressions and environmental changes(for the worse)... the chnages are irreversible
@Brikrender You sold out dewd,, some of us still live this dream with kids & bills.. these guys inspired my life to BE DIFFERENT and MAKE DIFFERENCES.
@Brikrender uhhh that's just a little bit of a "I remember when the world was great and not it sucks" kind of comment. Granted I do love this movie and it's my generation. But every generation believes it's the best. The predecessor to this generations wants us to believe they walked 50 miles in bare feet to school and that built character. But we lost it to video games, television and sports cars. Every generation has it tough man.
@Celeron917, every generation believes that, but you know what? That doesn't disprove that every generation is actually correct. Maybe with every successive generation vital things ARE lost, and it's only those people that knew those good things to begin with notice it. Look at people now: Meaningful jobs outsourced, obese sloths watching reality TV, millions drugged. It's quite possible when someone older bemoans the loss of something wonderful in the world, they're actually right.
"Every generation has it tough man." = "It's quite possible when someone older bemoans the loss of something wonderful in the world, they're actually right."
@BlandAmbition, thanks for the glib, sarcastic one-liner. Of course, there was an entire paragraph I was responding to and you chose one sentence from it all and pretended I was just responding to that. I miss the days when people's overriding concerns in life weren't limited to coming off as hip on the internet. Here, I can do the same thing.
One of the most beautiful scenes in film history. Although when Ted deflected those bullets with his hand, that was pretty emotional too. Sorry, I always get those movies confused.
@videogamenostalgia Dudes does not require the apostrophe. However, I love the sentiment of the comment. If only people like ourselves lived closer to each other.
@gonzo99x Robbie Robb - In Time (Movie Version) - Unreleased, but IronhideFX and Marcus Wright created an almost exact version. Its on Bill and Ted dot Org.
Bare in mind folks, this is just a movie, its not meant to be taken overly serious. With that said, I think there is a good message to take away here: anyone came change the world, anyone can make history...even just two guys who just want to rock and roll. So be excellent to each other!
Is there a version of this song out there somewhere? I know the song is "In Time" by Robbi Robb but it sounds different in this scene. There is definitely a guitar added to this one. I just wonder if they did that for the movie or if this version could be found somewhere?
This scene gets me so much. Maybe it's because I understand that the people in this scene are seeing their society's idols, and being able to symbolically thank them by doing a ritualized Air Guitar is something they seem to be honored to do so, making me, as a viewer, feel honored as well. A wonderful, touching scene. The great music doesn't hurt :)
I don't know about the idea of religious themes. But I think the scene implies that anyone can make a difference, anyone can change history. Even some guys who flunk history and just want to listen to rock and roll all day. We could just as easily be doing air guitar as giving military salutes because of the effects of people through history.
I love this scene!!!!! It's gotta be the most heart-felt cinematic moment in an otherwise hilarious movie!!!!! Not only is the music beautiful, but also this scene shows us a perfect world where everybody gets along, which is what we all want to happen. For me, this is the best scene in the movie!
one of the best movies I can remember growing up with next to karate kid...those movies rocked! Bill and Ted will forever be great...there is an amazing solo at the beginning of this video at 0:07-0:37 truly amazing part... .. .

For me, this is the best scene in the movie!

no matter how many times I see this movie, I still haven't figured out the song playing in the backround. If someone knows please tell me.
