"Wow, a politician who actually cares. How refreshing. I'll be joining him and I hope millions of other caring patriotic Americans in the Careone Day of Action!" If you believe edwards cares about the american people then pay attention. John Edwards is dropping out of the race today. Now look at the candidates on both sides, the only one left who gives a damn about you and I is Ron Paul Please edwards supporters once your candidate drops out today shift your support to Ron Paul. He truly cares
John is not afraid to take a stance on the issues thats one of the things I like best about him. That and the fact that he has the best policy plans in my opinion.
all you have to do is go back to 2001 spending levels to accomplish this. it's called reducing the size of government. government control is not the answer- it makes us like every other nation. look up what ron paul really stands for and stop letting yourself be brainwashed. france has socialized healthcare and the system went bankrupt. places that are governmentally controlled are horrible. ron paul is a doctor and is the only one who understands the healthcare mess.
"all the other countries" are unlike us for a reason. It's because they understand that there is an obligation to look after each other. Health care and buiseness have no place together. And socialized healthcae works great, if it is done properly. Also, the idea that the health care is so bad in countries with socalized health care is a lie. It's simply not true. And the only countries that have ever stayed operational for a long period of time are those with strong governments.
to criticize someone else for their beliefs is so rude and small minded . Why take the name of such a brave girl and make meaningless remarks. i know that John Edwards would quietly not approve - He has so much class. As for Ron Paul, you apparently know noting about him. A pity!
No one is insulting Ron Paul personally, but we are attacking his veiws, yes. And, having listened to his supporters tell me the Clinton is a communist (ha ha) and various "lets support the rich iwth the working-classes blood" propoganda, I can't say that I think he's enitierly sane.
And I believe 9/11 was allowed to happen by Bush to benefit the Saudis, Defense Industry and was manipulated and used to shove right wing agenda after right wing agenda down the throats of Americans...and i'm not voting for him.
yes but even true pot heads r gonna vote for Edwards. Probably most people who drink beer and like Ketchup, yellow mustard or relish. People who like bagels might even vote for Edwards.
Ron Paul is committed to actually saving social security for those who are dependant on it, unlike many in Washington who have been borrowing from it. Stop listening to the exaggerations and misrepresentations of RP in the media. Get educated and please support Ron Paul. I have nothing against Edwards as a person but we need real change and not just a slight shift to the left.
Paul is not a shift to the left. Quite the opposite. We need more radical than Edwards, I agree, but by that I mean socialist, not libertarian. Up taxes, especially on the rich, get out of Iraq, federalize health care, and focus on global warming! Impose huge taxes and sanctions on big biussness, and get started now!
I can see we're in disagreement about how the government should manage the country but you're missing a key component of Paul's platform. He wants to reduce wasteful government spending & believes that market driven spending is more efficient than forced taxation. He has a point when you consider that there is little incentive for Washington to spend wisely when they know they'll get their money no matter what & getting relected despite their incompetence is easy when big corporations fund them.
I said; huge santcions on big corporations. The point is to put the power into the people, to make the politicains answerable to them again. Paul can't do this for two reason (at least) First, because these same companies already own him. He wouldn't have survived 30 years in politics without them. Second, "market driven spending" is fancy for "pump money into private intrests so they'll support me" I'm talking income taxes up. Every dollar a person makes over 1 mil should be taxed at 90%!
Where is the proof that Ron Paul has sold out to special interests? What has led you to this conclusion? Ten terms in office isn't sufficient. Who is he in bed with? It can't be pharmaceutical companies. It isn't banking institutions. It certainly isn't the military industrial complex. Could it be that you just don't think it's fair that the wealthy pay a proportionate tax like the rest of America?
Paul is a strict Constitutionalist. He's backed that claim up with 30 years of consistent voting. He returns a portion of his political paycheck every year and voluntarily stepped down for several years to return to the medical practice. When you talk about politicians bought out by special interests, he's the last person you should be referencing.
In 20 seconds, I found his report on the Federal Election Commission website-
For contribution size from people-
in the bracket of $1000-$1999, he has raised $1,180,282. In the bracket of $2000 and Over- he has raised $1,394,256. Tack onto that just under 11,000 from actual PACs, and I think we can all agree he's sold out, maybe not *officially* to special interests, but certainly to the rich, their financing his campaign.
Give me any sign that Ron Paul has any clue how to run a country. Eleminate the IRS? More tax cuts? Domestic spending cuts? What about global warming? Ron Paul is an idiot, and doesn't deserve your support.
being a doctor does not mean he's competent. And being in politics fr 30 years probably means that he is A:incompetent but charming or B: sold his soul to the fabulously wealthy and big companies more times than he can count. Eliminating the IRS is ridiculous. We need to up taxes (way up) on the rich, and down taxes on the poor. And those taxes need to go to reducing the deficit and social programs. Ron Paul wants the Articles of Confederation back. You know, there's a reason we ditched those.
Anyone who is properly educated in the American philosophy and traditions know that he is the best person for the job. Stack him next to anyone else and it is obvious. Not to mention he's part of the reason Reagan won the presidency and was not only praised by Reagan but also by Goldwater.
You can easily eliminate the IRS by simply reducing the size of government. All you have to do is go back to 2001 spending levels.
But eleminating the IRS is not a good thing. Refrom, yes, not elemination. Almost all the problems this country has ever had stem from our issue with taxes that can help us. And an endorsment from Reagan is damnation in my book. Our #1 focus right now needs to be Global warming. And we are not going to do anything without raising taxes many times over, cutting military spending, and start cooperating with the international community.
Eliminating the IRS is the best thing. You don't need to raise taxes if you eliminate all the government waste. We're in about 113 different countries right now. This is needless and only incites hatred. While you want to increase government size and oppression I aim to reduce it because most of the government programs are needless. That would involuntarily reduce taxes and individuals would be richer.
He asked about the Governor Spitzer (NY) plan regarding driver licenses for illegal aliens. Hillary Clinton, during the last debate would not say if she was for or against which is ludicrous given she is Senator of NY. She should absolutely have an opinion on this very hot topic which has gained national attention.
Some feel Spitzer did this to gain Democrat advantage during the upcoming elections as driver licenses are primarily required ID for voter registration.
Well, just for clarity, she said she supported it, which was reasonable, but then everyone jumped on her, and she did what she does. She talked circles.
I dare say that this clip could have been a bit more clear on that. Unless you're following the campaign pretty closely, this video is a total non-sequitur.
Probably right. Guessing they just wanted to get it out there since a lot of the political blogs seem to have been fed the original incomplete interview and went with that without fact-checking.

Edwards Answer: No.
How straightforward can you get? Cropping his direct answer off a video really stinks.
