nice guy not enough that he is a fantastic solo at the end of the string broke, but he still did not taking up that played on - but the damage is not recorded here next .... I saw a whole and I tell you an amazing guy!
Sorry--this sounds like a wretched abomination to me. Shiny clean through modern gear with roundwound strings and a gay-ass chorus kinda ruins the fukk outta the blues.
I think "blues" should be low down and dirty with a warmer and ballsier tone than this white boy from the suburbs sounding crap.

I totally agree. I would like to add my two cents. White men shouldn't play the blues because it just sounds like a white mans interpretation of the blues. Utterly soulless. Kind of like those guys in the fifties with their watered down versions of rock and roll.
I think he broke a string at the end. That is not a Fender Bass, he had it custom built to his specs. I heard that it is on the wall at Rockin' Robin in Houston, TX. Roscoe is with Leonard Cohen now.
Nothing really Wow about playing a BASS primarily like a FREAKIN GUITAR!! and then resuming the bass instrument again. I would love to see him play the Bass like a freakin PIANO and then like a Bass again!! ha ha ha.
I am a bass purist! and any thing less is really not that good in my opinion. Wonder if he can play bass like a freakin Flute?
Wow, not closed minded or anything... What's wrong with mimicing another instrument to get the sound you want? You're really saying this isn't good? Let's see something you've done then. You like the bass in a supportive role, so play it like that. Dissing other people for playing their way is indicitive of some real insecurity.
BTW, if you want to see the bass played like a piano, search for Stu Hamm or Jean Baudin. Enjoy ;)
Great solo by a great player, but his instrument is a Stevens 6 String Bass. May look superficially like his Fender but it's not. Check out Stevens Guitars on the web for some killer guitars and basses. Cheers!

Like that he broke the bass string but finished his phrasing -- the sign of an experienced pro.

Too. Long.
But on German TV you can get away with anything--even white-boy shiny 80s chorus.

This is not a Fender. This was made by Michael Stevens of Stevens Guitars.

I saw beck with robin ford back in 94. At one point he had that damn bass sounding like a hammond organ. It was incredible.

not one of his better solo's...

Agreeing the chorus a lot, and I also do not like it, but Roscoe cool)

Gotta agree with Craigdamage. Shiny choruses kill the blues.

Fender P-bass with flatwound strings and an Ampeg
tube amp is the way to go.
He sure can play though.
I am just being critical of the tone here.
Roscoe is a real pro.

It's an instrument. Instruments take solo's. Deal with it.

Yeah,I know.I would rather watch a video of Robert Downey lip sync a real gay Elton John tune. That's not lame at all.
