  • Cool video, but why would they need to do taxi tests? I mean, wouldn't they know there was something wrong with the plane taxing during regular flight tests??

  • the crew kind of has a limited vision now with the 4 windows in the front. hard to see towards the wing/engine area. its gonna suck when taxiing this beauty in tight spaces with other aircraft or buildings close by.

  • @begafl Im sure theirs taxi cameras..

  • Are the cockpit windows tinted that way to thwart idiots with green lasers? Looks really slick! Will the upcoming 747-8 Intercontinental(passenger) have this radical wing design also? The freighter version appeared to have a pretty conventional wing. I love the A-380 but I'm also looking forward to the passenger 747-8 program being completed successfully. They're both engineering marvels.

  • El aviòn mas bello jamas construido, les deseo la mejor suerte del mundo adelante dreamliner tu lo podras hacer, from el tigrito venezuela with love.

  • Stop with the airbus vs. boeing comments; unless you are 10 years old.

  • somesay that scarebus A380 can carry more passengers and blah blah blah but here's the catch, it can't fly anywhere in the world as yet because of weight restrictions on runways and parking. in this world recession that's going on, who's going to want to invest in refurbishment when there's a menial chance of recouping the costs?? Dreamliner can pretty much fly the same long distances while using far less fuel than the new scarebus...

  • @fachy1981 you put this on like 15 biliion vids just let it go boeing is a more reliable company then airbus who wants to go in a double decker for more money when you can travel in a 747 or 777 and go the same place for less

  • i couldnt agree more! Boeing is more reliable than Airbus.. how i wish my company buy that new Dreamliner.. too bad, our CEO prefer to have "Boeing free, all Airbus" aircraft.

  • @fachy1981 so what about

    C-130 copy by euro A400=2009

  • @speedenia and it costs more money to travel in the a380

  • Boeing just had an crash, MD 11 FedEx Japan. All Boeing aircrafts are aging.

  • A380 is one gigantic and awesome airplane, but i still prefer Boeing than Airbus.. maybe because Airbus only have joystick on its cockpit.. lol

  • @blackuzco ha ha lol and there airplanes look ugly its like they are pregnant lol, a380 beluga

  • Beluga to me are the UGLIEST airplane ever!

  • buen video amigo vamos a ver si el 747-8 funciona haci de bien

  • I think 747-800 is a cheap and boring replacement for the classic 747-400 series in my minds eye. Boeing did not want to invest in all new 747 replacement as it was seen as too risky a buisness venture. I applaud Airbus once again for taking the risk and pushing the envelope in terms of innovation and design technologies. I think Airbus have pushed aviation 20 years into the future whereas Boeing are still tinkering with a 1960s 747 design.

  • @fachy1981 so at least we have a new missle defence system

  • @yoyoyoyoshua whats the use of the missile defense. When you went to fight in Vietnam, you got hammered by Vietnamese soldiers. Vietnamese pissed on Nison's face. The Vietnamese slaughtered all the U.S. soldiers. Tell me you can't even fight the taliban in Afghanistan. More than 80% Afghanistan is still controlled by Taliban What is the use of Missile Defense system when you are getting hammered

  • @fachy1981 the only reason we're in afgan is to find your friend osama bin ladin

  • @yoyoyoyoshua LOL IT IS 10 YEARS NOW AND STILL CAN'T FIND HIM. WHATS THE USE OF THE TECHNOLOGY

  • A350 will make money since they have 505 orders, can't wait to see her in the air soon.

  • 20 A380's in the air so far out of 202 orders, not bad for an aircraft whose parts must be transported on the ground in Europe. We will see if the Delay Liner can be delivered by late 2010 as Boeing is saying.

  • Scarebus can suck on this!!

Most people would have taken a hint if their $320 million aircraft hadn't sold more than 50 units in the 3 or so years of operation. dreamliner has over 800 orders worldwide...go figure!

  • If it ain't Boeing, we ain't going. Can't wait till we see 787 parts flowing into the shop.

  • it flys ;-)

  • Will the flight be shown live on the Boeing website? If no,where can I watch it?Cheers folks!!!

  • airbust is in trouble with this aircraft out there... cant wait to see it fly this 14th.

  • i agree a 100 percent lol

  • The truth is about Boeing and Airbus - both frame makers buy throughout the world for all bits and pieces. Both are 'international'. There's no room for silly nationalistic sentiments when it comes to competing in the international market. The customers want the best at the right price. I do like RR engines though.

  • well ik some airliners are buying this plane with the RR engines so i guess they get a choice

  • I just love the boeing livery

  • stop takin drugs kid, it's not clever and it's not funny.

  • imho, take all the time you need Boeing, i want to enjoy flying in a dreamliner and i want to be safe. shareholders, just wait. you're in it for the long haul.......and i Want to be in it for the long haul.

  • This time, re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re scheduled for 22nd Dec, no moooore delaaaaaaaay!

  • fly damn you damn you FLY!

  • Amazing bias so far on this video. Every comment is either claiming Europeans are better or Americans are. With their "Rolls 'Roices'". Why don't we all shut up and throw crap at the plane when something actually happens to it in flight. If I recall all you Airbus lovers begged us to shut up when we said the A380 was too fat to fly.

  • And still is... too fat to fly, the reason they (Airbus) made it big is because they lack the technology we have thus, they try to compensate with size. As everyone can see this puppy is just the beginning.

  • LOL!

  • I hope Delta keeps NWA's 787 orders

  • i hope so the last i heard they

were talking with boeing to cancel

    the order for more 777s

  • no they are going to cancel and use some mad dogs

  • I would get on this thing any day before an a380 at least boeing has the balls to delay a program for a little bit instead of airbus who sell the planes right off the bat to airlines talk to some A380 pilots see how many problems that thing has

  • KUDOS TO BOEING FOR STIcking with it. THe 787 will fly and will be a great plane.

  • The only thing working well on the 787 are the EUROPEAN MADE ROLLS ROICE ENGINES...

The Delay Liner is a JOKE...

15 Cancellations from QUANTAS...more to come

  • European? Why do you stinky ass Euro's think your so amazing? Honestly I cant figure it out. Ur European Airbus A330 that crashed in the pacific didnt do too well did it. RIP all the victims ofcourse. Dont talk EuroTrash

  • yeh because boeing never has crashes...and it was the atlantic

  • and your 747 that crashed on a mountain in Japan didnt too well too. Boeing or Airbus... they're safe and Bombardier and Embraer too

    Amen

  • those are GE engines

  • RR idiot

  • 787 has an option for both RR and GE but the testing in this video is using a GE engine dumbshit, please leave aviation comments for people who work in aviation.

  • theres are RR logo on the engine you dumbass illiterate bitch

  • the launch engine for the 787 is RR so that must be RR

  • Spelt QANTAS, stands for Qeensland And Northern Territory Air Service

  • The new Boeing livery is really, really nice! I much prefer it to the old one with the multiple straight cheat lines. This livery is AWESOME :)

  • you should check out boeings alternate livery on their website. it's all white with a simple blue "wave" stripe. looks pretty cool, too.

  • Well this plane may never fly but at least Boeing can sell them as taxi cabs for big desolate parking lots somewhere.

  • +1. At least someone knows that this is no bird. Why? Well where the wing of the 787 meets the body of the plane or sector 11, the bolts are not strong enough. So, when they where doing wing tests the top bolts to sector 11 broke. Yes, it can flay, and the wings wont fall off, but in heavy winds the wings have a possibility of snapping off. Dont flame this comment because this is the real stuff.

  • Well, at least its a good looking airplane.

Wonder what the final weight savings will be after all of the strengthening?

  • I am very curious what that was trailing from the tip of the vertical stabilizer.

  • Same here. Anyone know?

  • Ohh snap, that's nice. We'll soon start seeing these in the skies.

  • Beautiful :D

  • the nose wheel left the ground! i'm stil mad i can't find any video of this event with any audio >:(.

  • Yes, look for a video on the right called: 787 Taxi Test 07-07-09

  • go on the boeing web site

  • sweeet look at that big bird go!!!!! thnx 4 sharing

  • very interesting
