Is it possible for a song to make you feel happy and sad at the same time? There was a musical ornament (of a boy and girl kissing) that sat on the fireplace mantle of my childhood home that chimed this song from "Love Story." It belonged to my parents who have been married nearly forty years and are still going strong. It also makes me feel melancholy because it reminds me of my first love who chose to love someone else over me after many years together. So this music feels bittersweet.

@thegeekfanatic I disagree. that's a blanket statement. i hate it when people are so arrogant about music. how do you know what goes on in the studio? are you there with them? some people genuinely love music and are not warded off by "mainstream". many of these artists don't have creative control because of their labels. They have a passion for music and probably, in their down time, write really meaningful music that doesn't get played on the radio.
