Okay please don't get me wrong. I agree with you in full the Harry Potter series is all around a better series than twilight. The movies are far more interesting and the books create a picture that Stephanie Mayer cannot even compare with. I am a fan of both series but Harry Potter will always be better in my eyes. i agree with the pacing: i feel like there is always a new twilight movie coming out. i think they do that because if they dont come out with another movie soon everyone will get tired of it and forget about the series.
and also twilights box office is significantly less than harry potters so the fan girls are just stupid.
with the plots, i think you should have included the part in the half blood prince when dumbledore and harry are talking about the horcruxes. but yea i love the plot of harry potter. its awesome whereas in twilight all the talk about it how edward is a beautiful vampire and how bella is a beautiful idiot. its quite stupid to me.

There was also other fantasy films that were made to greenlight a franchise to rival Harry Potter and all of them sucked. The Golden Compass, Eragon and I Am Number Four had none of the heart and entertainment value that Harry Potter has. The only film that had almost had the chance for a franchise was Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole... AND IT WAS FUCKING AWESOME!!!. I highly recommend that film if you really hated Compass, Eragon and Number 4.
@TheAdam1995 I didn't hate Eragon, I actually liked it (the books, they fucked up the movie), and I didn't hate The Golden Compass, I only found it confusing, like it was missing something. I didn't watch I Am Number Four, but I loved Legend Of Guardians. Anyway, Harry Potter is still my absolute favorite :)

Twilight on the other hand had bland characters, cheap effects and cinematography, boring romance, insulting moments and while the movies are still a box office sucsess, all the movie are hated by every vampire fan in existence. It nearly took the vampire genre four years to redeem itself of the Twilight travesty with the Fright Night remake. Face it, Harry Potter never had a bad film in the series and Twilight will never be as popular.
Harry Potter had lovable characters, great effects and cinematography, splendid action, memorable moments and is currently the highest grossing movie franchise of all time and who do we have to thank for helping this franchise make more money than James Bond?... Deathly Hallows Part 2.
Harry Potter: The boy discovers his destiny when he is told he's a wizard. He goes through lots of crazy challenges and magical challenges. He learns to fight a dark wizard and learns to be loyal to his friends.
Twilight: Girl gets stalked by a sparkly vampire, falls in love, and almost commits suicide when he leaves. Then they get married and have sex and she becomes a vampire. Her werewolf ex-boyfriend starts a romantic relationship with a little kid.
im not trying to be disrespectful to any twiligt fans but i must admit harry potter is a better film only because it has created a whole new universe for readers but twilight is just creating a world that creates a fake allusion of vampieres and awesome video
Harry Potter builds an excellent fantasy world, with plenty of possibilities and rich details, and that only in the first book. It's quite hard to keep up with the pace Rowling set at the first, but I'd say she did a decent job. As for the writing, it's okay.
I like it, but I wouldn't glorify it as fans do. All in all, it's a C+ when you compare it with good books by renowned authors (Tolkien, Twain, Melville), which is reasonable.
I hate the movies though, and don't get me started on Twilight.
twilights sound track is actually the only good part of the movies (beside the instrumental songs) but besides that its a loud of crap that only taints harry potters name.

There are many Epic stories/poems and sagas out there that have been and will be remembered over time. To name a few:
1. The Iliad (around 725 and 675 B.C.)
2. Beowulf (around the 8th and 11th century)
3. The Lord of the Rings (1950's)
4. The Chronicles of Narnia (1950's)
5. Star Wars (1970's)
6. Harry Potter (2000's)
And no, Twilight does not appeal in any way shape or form to this list and the franchise will die off once the last movie is released. It is not an epic, AT ALL.

Harry Potter is the reason I LOVE fantasy!! When I first heard of Twilight, I was open to the idea that there could be fantasy stories just as good as HP. I was not talking about Twilight.

I'm a diehard Harry Potter fan, have been since I was 7. I've also read (and yes, even own) all the Twilight books. I don't exactly hate Twilight, but I'm far from a fan. The plot is often weak and cliched, the writing I give a passing grade, the sparkling thing is just weird and random, and I'm personally not a fan of either Jacob or Edward (neither of them make good boyfriend material for various reasons). But the movies I've seen have generally been worse, the 1st one being just godawful.

When I rewatched Goblet of Fire last month, I concluded that when Voldemort killed Cedric, he unfortunately revived as a vampire :( Why did Cedric have to die!?!!

Harry Potter has an original storyline that appeals to a wider crowd than Twilight. Having said that I actually enjoyed the LAST part of the LAST TS book because Something Happened. Yeah it was original and easy to read but was it well written? I don't like Twilight and I don't like HP, because of the characters mostly.
Now a good well written series would be something along the lines of:
I personally think that there are a lot of hot guys in both films. I mean come on now. But what makes Harry Potter a little more appealing is the fact you got to watch these adorable young boys grow into very handsome men. There Daniel, Rupert, Tom, Matthew, Alfred, Oliver, James, Devon. They are all extra fine.
Harry Potter launched a whole new genre of takes on magical boarding schools and encouraged authors to write deeper and more meaningful children's literature.
Twilight launched a genre of crappy paranormal romances centered around an idiot girl and her abusive boyfriend with a pathetic excuse for a plot attached.
Really? Which is more impressive: a 10 year old's journey to save the Wizarding world VS a 100-somewhat year old showing some self-control? HINT: the latter should NOT be something to be praised for, especially in four long books; I mean, COME ON! It's just as equally impressive as an obese person changing his/her large milkshake to a medium.
HP teaches you about bravery and importance of friendship, while Twilight is just leading up to (and was only-sort-of,-but-not-really) sex.
Id like to say dude you have way too much time on your hands if you put this video together lol. Dont get me wrong, I love HP. I read both books. But i far more enjoy the HP movies. i watched the Twilight movie & it wasn to great. The twilight book were okay but id spend hours reading HP.
When I read HP I feel home, and warm inside. I feel like I'm in Hogwarts, walking besides Harry and doing everything he does :) I love charms and DADA, my favourite sport is Quidditch, and I would pretty much die to have my own wand that actually works, and attending at Hogwarts ! <3 I think I belong there, not here in the Muggle World ^^ So why even compare these two? I loved how this video gave us pure facts and was "unbiased" and Harry Potter STILL beat Twilight. i am a huge harry potter fan and yes, ive read a twillight book, and i can honestly say that i can spend hours reading my hp books over and over again (reading them for the 5th time again) and my twilight book is collecting dust and looking brand new. I can watch the hp movies over and over again while i was forced to go into the last twilight movie and wanted to leave right away, obvious winner?

I honeslty have a thing for both books and movies, but I guess my obsession for twilight wasn't because of SM's story or the meaning, it was just because the director could choose hot guys to act. But with Harry Potter, it is a whole other situation. While Twilight is a love story with a twist, I find most of the love scenes and plots are take from older classics like Wurthing Heights and ROmeo and Juliet. But in HP, I am inlove with each and every Character, especially Snape. ;)
I do like Twilight but only a little, I do prefer Harry Potter alot, because everything about it is just better. The effects are amazing, the storyline always keeps you hooked, and Harry Potter is a film/book you can read/watch over and over and it never gets boring. Harry Potter has been my life! I started watching the films in 2001 when the Philosophers stone came out and I have followed them ever since, and to dedicate Harry Potter and his ending, I read all the books :)

i agree with the pacing: i feel like there is always a new twilight movie coming out. i think they do that because if they dont come out with another movie soon everyone will get tired of it and forget about the series.
and also twilights box office is significantly less than harry potters so the fan girls are just stupid.

with the plots, i think you should have included the part in the half blood prince when dumbledore and harry are talking about the horcruxes. but yea i love the plot of harry potter. its awesome whereas in twilight all the talk about it how edward is a beautiful vampire and how bella is a beautiful idiot. its quite stupid to me.

There was also other fantasy films that were made to greenlight a franchise to rival Harry Potter and all of them sucked. The Golden Compass, Eragon and I Am Number Four had none of the heart and entertainment value that Harry Potter has. The only film that had almost had the chance for a franchise was Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole... AND IT WAS FUCKING AWESOME!!!. I highly recommend that film if you really hated Compass, Eragon and Number 4.

@TheAdam1995 I didn't hate Eragon, I actually liked it (the books, they fucked up the movie), and I didn't hate The Golden Compass, I only found it confusing, like it was missing something. I didn't watch I Am Number Four, but I loved Legend Of Guardians. Anyway, Harry Potter is still my absolute favorite :)

Twilight on the other hand had bland characters, cheap effects and cinematography, boring romance, insulting moments and while the movies are still a box office sucsess, all the movie are hated by every vampire fan in existence. It nearly took the vampire genre four years to redeem itself of the Twilight travesty with the Fright Night remake. Face it, Harry Potter never had a bad film in the series and Twilight will never be as popular.

Harry Potter builds an excellent fantasy world, with plenty of possibilities and rich details, and that only in the first book. It's quite hard to keep up with the pace Rowling set at the first, but I'd say she did a decent job. As for the writing, it's okay.
I like it, but I wouldn't glorify it as fans do. All in all, it's a C+ when you compare it with good books by renowned authors (Tolkien, Twain, Melville), which is reasonable.
I hate the movies though, and don't get me started on Twilight.

Harry potter came out when i was in like the 1st grade i loved it. now i am a 9th grader and i watch it at least once a week and it is never borning i still get chils and when twilight came out when i was in 6th grade i loved it watched it about 30 times tottaly and when new moon came out i still liked it, by the time eclipse came out i thought it was pretty borning and twilight was a phase but harry potter is our generation, face it harry potter is a GREAT movie<3

1. The Iliad (around 725 and 675 B.C.)
2. Beowulf (around the 8th and 11th century)
3. The Lord of the Rings (1950's)
4. The Chronicles of Narnia (1950's)
5. Star Wars (1970's)
6. Harry Potter (2000's)
And no, Twilight does not appeal in any way shape or form to this list and the franchise will die off once the last movie is released. It is not an epic, AT ALL.

I'm a diehard Harry Potter fan, have been since I was 7. I've also read (and yes, even own) all the Twilight books. I don't exactly hate Twilight, but I'm far from a fan. The plot is often weak and cliched, the writing I give a passing grade, the sparkling thing is just weird and random, and I'm personally not a fan of either Jacob or Edward (neither of them make good boyfriend material for various reasons). But the movies I've seen have generally been worse, the 1st one being just godawful.

Harry Potter has an original storyline that appeals to a wider crowd than Twilight. Having said that I actually enjoyed the LAST part of the LAST TS book because Something Happened. Yeah it was original and easy to read but was it well written? I don't like Twilight and I don't like HP, because of the characters mostly.
Now a good well written series would be something along the lines of:

Really? Which is more impressive: a 10 year old's journey to save the Wizarding world VS a 100-somewhat year old showing some self-control? HINT: the latter should NOT be something to be praised for, especially in four long books; I mean, COME ON! When I read HP I feel home, and warm inside. I feel like I'm in Hogwarts, walking besides Harry and doing everything he does :) I love charms and DADA, my favourite sport is Quidditch, and I would pretty much die to have my own wand that actually works, and attending at Hogwarts ! <3 I think I belong there, not here in the Muggle World ^^ So why even compare these two? I loved how this video gave us pure facts and was "unbiased" and Harry Potter STILL beat Twilight. i am a huge harry potter fan and yes, ive read a twillight book, and i can honestly say that i can spend hours reading my hp books over and over again (reading them for the 5th time again) and my twilight book is collecting dust and looking brand new. I honeslty have a thing for both books and movies, but I guess my obsession for twilight wasn't because of SM's story or the meaning, it was just because the director could choose hot guys to act. But with Harry Potter, it is a whole other situation. While Twilight is a love story with a twist, I find most of the love scenes and plots are take from older classics like Wurthing Heights and ROmeo and Juliet. But in HP, I am inlove with each and every Character, especially Snape. ;)

I do like Twilight but only a little, I do prefer Harry Potter alot, because everything about it is just better. The effects are amazing, the storyline always keeps you hooked, and Harry Potter is a film/book you can read/watch over and over and it never gets boring. Harry Potter has been my life! I started watching the films in 2001 when the Philosophers stone came out and I have followed them ever since, and to dedicate Harry Potter and his ending, I read all the books :)
