  • artful design - would like you to demonstrate its sound more - perhaps a part II demo vid.

  • did that shiny, yellowy finish really come from just true oil and armour seal? im in the process of sanding down my pbass body and love that finish!

  • @JamesRRM Yep!

  • Beautiful guitar! I love the neck pup position, always my fav. Sounds just as great as any top strat!

  • that pick guard is very nice, real creativity there, rest of your guitar is awesome too.

  • dude, that's awesome. I have yet to get a rippin classic strat and I'm convinced on getting those Dimarzio single coils. I've got Dimarzios in just about every humbucker guitar I've got and they're all so expressive and amazing. Congratulations on your new toy!

  • congrats ....greeat job

  • Nice build! I'm curious about the wiring. Can you post a diagram or a link to one?

  • How long did it take you to build it?

  • @HavocBillz the actual build would have taken less time, but including planning and shipping time it took about 6 months. You can't rush it if you want it to be one you'll really enjoy playing...

  • PLEASE.. WE WISH TO HEAR the guitar playing.

more videos, with tube amps please!

  • hi James, what kind of bridge did you use? gracias!

  • @jazzlefty I used a hardtail bridge (no tremelo) from Warmoth.com. I believe it has vintage string spacing...

  • Very cool guitar, i have been thinkg about a Warmoth for a few years now.. but i have been busy with other things..

  • very nice, love the dark accents with the natural, its like one of the really nice 70s fenders but even better, the pickguard is just a beautiful thing all its own

  • @fraterlucifer888 thanks man, It was a fun build and fun results

  • Nice job! I like what you did with the pickguard. Thanks for explaining how you did that. It really brings the color of the body, the ebony fretboard, the black pups and hardware together. I have a USACG hardtail in the works. What kind of bridge do you have? Vintage string spacing at the bridge? I love the smoked Gotoh 510's and will use them on mine also.

  • @bricknboxer Thanks! Ya the bridge is a vintage hardtail from Warmoth. I like it a lot. The sustain on my guitar is crazy long - in part, i'm sure, because of that hardtail. I'm glad you are getting to build one - it's a really rewarding process. The guitar i made is my absolute favorite to play!

  • @jamesabrush do you think there would be a better choice than tru oil. I've done lacquer/nitro a number of times but I want a satin finish. I was really hoping to go the oil route.

  • @syntheticocean Well, I've never done nitro, but I know that you can get a satin finish simply by using really high grit sand-paper and smoothing up the finish... Tru-oil actually can be pretty high-gloss... You get it satin by scuffing it with 0000 steel wool, or in the case of my neck, some high grit finishing papers (600 and then 1200).

  • Gorgeous. I just got my UPS shipment notification for my Warmoth order. Z body mahog/Q.Maple top. Mahog/Ebony Warmoth neck. Gonna be finishing it a deep blue with a tru oil satin finish. Found your video while googling tru oil guitar finishes. I really appreciate how in depth you went explaining everything you did. Really helped. Thanks!

  • @syntheticocean Sure thing! I actually had to cut most of what I shot because of the 10 min. vid requirement. Your guitar sounds like its going to be awesome. Its a rewarding process for sure... Have fun!

  • @jamesabrush does the tru oil have any color to it? Do you think it will alter the blue i'm going to use at all?

  • @syntheticocean the tru oil adds an amber sort of vintage tint after multiple coats... Are you trying to tint the tru-oil or are you dying first and then adding tru-oil? My tip - if you want any dramatic coloring, tint before the tru-oil. But yes, the tru -oil will change the look of the blue - it will muddy it up some.

  • are guitars bluid with warmoth parts from a good quality ? :d nice guitar btw

  • @XFFCTpunkrowk

the best. better than much stock fender stuff

  • Gorgeous guitar! You're an amazing guitarist as well

  • @goldenglovled Thank you. I really appreciate it!

  • Honey, your hot, but you speak alot.

  • Sounds as beautiful as it looks!

  • @CannibalWhirm Thanks a lot :)
